hot take but sand dan glokta is absolute perfection. his nasty torture fuckery, his cynical misery, his suffering, his character arc...

I fucking love him! This is unhealthy! I'm hyper fixating on a man with little to no fanart! Fuckkkk

he's disabled. he has chronic pain. he hates oatmeal. he tortures people for a living. he hates stairs. he believes that any day now he's going to be betrayed and killed by his boss. he laughed harder than he ever had in his life watching some guy get his ass beat at a sporting event. he thinks all of his friends abandoned him and the minute he realized that one (1) guy had tried to visit him he reconstructed his entire worldview. he's sand dan glokta and i can't stop thinking about him.

glokta's inner monologue is so fascinating to me. half of the time he's staring down the barrel of a gun, waiting for the other shoe to drop, fully expecting to meet his end around every corner. anticipating his own death with all the fervor of a man who has known nothing but self-loathing and betrayal for years. the other half of the time he's being a nasty little hater. I love it.

His whole chapter in tagoster is fucking awesome!

Hitting that guy with his cane caught me so off gaurd but I love it

Also wondering if that girl he took as a servant will become a character or if it's just a throw away?

But then he goes to this council thing & now it's clue! I fucking love clue! (Also sidenote, I love the guy who was voted to represent the native people, he seems like a cool character)

This whole chapter was peak!

Like, yes i like Logan and.... the girl I'm forgetting the name of (she hasn't been in book 2 yet)

And I love watching Jezal get annoyed

But I spend 50% of all other chapters excitedly waiting for a glokta chapter/for him to show up

Also should probably mention he's one of a few characters i imagine as animals (effectively furries)

Like, I fully imagine him as a vulture headed man, so i feel like that definitely takes away from his gross factor, but it adds to his cool factor.

Might draw him, idk, if I've do I'll post it

Ardi being put in Gloka's care but also he's not there? Will we stop seeing Ardi? I would hope not, I like Ardi.

Also the red head working w/Glokta, I'm happy to see we're getting a third female character, she seems cool.

(Side note: I didn't realize that Ardi was the only female character until Ferro was introduced & now I can't not notice the lack of female characters its like 13/5 on named/plot important men/women & two of those are only relevant for one chapter)
