Jesse, Jordan Jesse Go, Throwing Shade
and Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney in Portland
If you read Put This On and wonder why it isn’t an endless stream of vulgar jokes, I’ve got great news. I’m bringing my comedy podcast (which I co-host with @Midnight writer/champion Jordan Morris) to Portland Saturday night. We’re joined by the totally amazing and hilarious show Throwing Shade, and EXTREMELY special guest Corin Tucker of Sleater-Kinney.
The show is Saturday night at seven at the Hollywood Theater, and it’s going to be a real laugh riot. Grab your tickets now, because it’s almost sold out.

Virtual Morality is an interactive first person murder mystery movie in which you are the protagonist and make choices that directly affect the narrative.
Set in the type of college party that only happens in American movies, populated with all your stereotypical cliques, Virtual Morality is essentially an FMV choose your own adventure with the story branching out in multiple directions dependant on your choices. Do you stay with the popular clique or go with the inquisitive loner? Do you help the girl or chase the killer? The choice it yours.
As Virtual Morality is essentially an interactive movie, the story and acting quality are paramount, and thankfully it doesn’t disappoint. There’s the occasional bad performance (which actually adds to the enjoyment), but on the whole the cast, editing and story are great, certainly warranting multiple playthroughs to discover everything that’s going on at the party.
There’s a nice balance between tension and laugh out loud humor throughout Virtual Morality. It’s a great concept that we can’t wait to see more of, and it also contains one of the best lines ever spoken on video: ’Listen up you sons of bitches, there’s a goddamn knife in my head and you need to do something about it now!’

The Old One is a gorgeous looking one handed tactical combat game in which you play an ancient stone titan, too weak to stand, but who must defend a precious diamond that gives you life from hordes of invading adventurers.
You only have a few moves at your disposal – a left punch, right punch, shake and a crystal wave (which needs time to recharge). You’re big and strong, but you’re also very slow and can only perform one type of attack at a time, so must time your attacks wisely – one mistimed swing can mean the difference between life and death.
You can get into a bit of a rhythm and last for a while, watching the ground slowly rise as you smash your enemies into the dirt. But as much as you fight, you’ll only last so long against the invading adventurers, and much like Shadow of the Colossus, the death of your titan feels like a sad event. This time though, you’ve not been slain for anything as noble as love – just the greed of humans on their quest for shiny loot.
A short, beautiful and unique experience where you’ll see a real titan fall.
