okay, when i first thought of bringing petunia back, i was worried. while she’s in the books, there isn’t much to go on how she was when she was younger. i was petrified people would hate her. however, y’all have welcomed me and petunia in so well and i’m just grateful people love her. she’s my little baby.

It wasn’t James’ first day at the asylum, but it was his first time seeing this boy. Surrey County Asylum was a big place and it was typical for the psychologists to have their own case load, not often seeing or working with the other children. James’ was always jam packed ( the waiting list for diagnoses was longer than it should have been for safety reasons but, unfortunately, it just wasn’t something most doctors went into ) but he’d recently been able to discharge one of his patients after they’d made extensive progress, only seeing them to adjust medication when needed.

And that’s when he heard of Harry Dursley.

An increasingly troubled boy, his own psychologist was having trouble getting through to him. When James had agreed to meet with Harry, they’d told him about the violent behavior and outward aggression. Not much phased him these days, but Harry smacking his head against the wall by James simply looking at him was not something he’d been prepared for. He jumped back, allowing the orderlies to do their thing as he talked calmly over their movements.

            “Harry, I’m just here to see you. I have a few questions.”

      ( ⚡ ) — HE WASN’T SEEING things, was he? no, there was no possible way he was seeing things. like he told everyone, he wasn’t crazy. but then, how was it his father was in front of him, about thirty feet away? there was no way he wasn’t just imagining this. of course, being in the state he was, he decided to do the first thing that came to his mind. what would that be, you ask? beating his head against the wall.
