Well, this is not what I was planning to do for pride month but here you go some trans and poly positivity :3

I don't usually hc Kakashi as trans, just in this specific au because I do hc Rin as trans in the canon (I love her so I made her queer). I wanted team Minato to be happy and fluffy because they deserve it! (Also I wanted the baby to have white hair :³)

Also I believe this situation could only work with poly obkkrin because 1. They have less trauma bc Rin is alive. 2. Rin can ground Obito and Kakashi and help support them enough so they can raise a baby.

I'll do more stuff and hcs about obkkrin and the trans Rin hc sometime in the future.

I finally go to it! Thank you for this ask, I can spend hours talking about Obito.

How I feel about this character.

I’ll start from the very beginning. I got into Naruto in 2008-2009. In a few chapters of the first part of Naruto, Kakashi mentioned someone by the name of ��Obito’, and you know, I was already intrigued by Kakashi’s speech to Sasuke that everyone he loved already died and that got me wondering if/when/how his teammates would ever appear. Then Kakashi Gaiden appeared.

I was flabbergasted with Kakashi’s way of being, I mean what a stark contrast to how we as readers met him and got to know him. But Obito, oh he conquered my heart immediately. The way he was introduced (a bit clumsy, late, his excuses) oh man, what a cute kid. I love his design, his energy, his stupid fights with Kakashi, his interaction with Rin, and his ideals. What a powerful character he was. That crucial fight with Kakashi that turned Kakashi’s world on its axis, what a beast, he truly was not afraid to fight for his ideals and to put someone in its place.

I was so invested into the theory that the mysterious Madara was in  fact Obito. Chapter 599 hit, and I swear I was so happy, shocked, excited. My fave was alive! I was such a believer that it would have been anticlimatic would it have been Danzo, Izuna, Shisui, Madara or anyone else really. 

He’s a very grey character to me, who’s sadly misunderstood by this one sentence ‘because you let Rin die.’ It doesn't do justice as to why he became who he became. He was a big hearted kid, went through a near death experience, got locked up in a cave with monsters and a madman , was in pain, and the only thing he thought of was to return to Rin and Kakashi.

He fought tooth and nail for what he believed in. But alas, Madara and the wars fucked him up.

Fun fact: back in 2008-2009 I started searching the internet for fics about Team Minato, but Minato didn’t have a name yet so it was either ‘Team Arashi’ or ‘Team Yellow Flash’ if memory serves right! There were just a few select ones on LiveJournal and fanfiction dot net.  

TLDR: He’s my fave character of all time your Honor. 

Btw, I had to look it up in the manga, but this right here is what made me fall in love with him. This. "Then lead!" For me, the Kakashi Gaiden arc was (next to the wave arc), the most telling and heartfelt arc in Naruto.

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Kakashi. I’ve been shipping them since Kakashi Gaiden :/ This is the one couple I keep shipping. I can't get rid of them despite my best efforts.

Rin, sometimes. I think it could work under some circumstances but in recent years I haven’t been shipping them.

Kisame. I mean he’s even more of a beast than Obito. Need I say more? And Kisame was loyal to him. I like to believe Kisame was the one in the organisation Obito trusted out of anyone.

Konan, sometimes, but not in the way of ‘enemies to lovers’, but more like ‘enemies with benefits’, in a toxic, unhealthy way.

My non-romantic OTP for this character

Rin. Although I can ship them romantically, I like them better as besties and partners in crime. I think she’s the one who just gets him and can bring out the very best in him with her way of just being there for him. 

My unpopular opinion about this character

It wasn’t ‘just’ Rin.

He’s the strongest. He defied death so many times with pure, sheer willpower, anger and all other things mixed in. The guy just kept going and going.

Let the man live at the end of the series.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

the whole speech with Naruto. I mean what was that? No, just no. It didn’t do it for me. I wish Kishimoto had done that differently. 

I wish there were more moments between Kakashi and Obito in general, but I got fanfiction to quench my thirst.

Yuri obikaka, in suits…

This was from 15th june, i wanted to doodle more but gave up after finishing this one. I hope to draw more of these when i got the motivation. Suit designs by me, you can actually see fem obito wearing the same suit in a different style in an old artwork of mine. I really love that artwork, i love this artwork more though.

Obito is a lil annoyed but very ehm, embarrassed? meanwhile Kakashi is very content. Well i dunno how to describe it but they’re in love.

The love between Kakashi and Obito is real:

1. Kakashi's Entire Value System Was Rewritten by Obito. That’s not normal. That’s transformative. Obito dies and Kakashi changes his entire life, ideology, and identity based on a single speech—then quotes it for decades. Like... yall, that’s not just grief, that’s bonded for life.

2. Obito’s Entire Identity Revolves Around Kakashi.

Throughout Shippuden, when Obito reflects on his past, Kakashi is always present in his memories. Even his mask, his goals, his trauma—it all links back to losing Rin and clashing with Kakashi. And yet, during the war, when everyone is calling him evil, he still seeks Kakashi’s understanding (no one else's), debating philosophy, showing vulnerability, and expressing how much he was hurt. If Kakashi truly meant nothing to him at that point in time, he wouldn't waste his breath.

3. The Forgiveness Was Immediate and Unquestioning. Obito started the war, killed their friends, and helped in the murder Kakashi’s father-figure (Minato)—and Kakashi STILL forgave him faster than anyone in the series. That’s not logic. That’s love. Romantic or not, that is soulmate-level loyalty.

4. Obito Imagined an Alternate Universe Where They Could Be Together Forever. His Infinite Tsukuyomi dream was literally just Kakashi and Rin alive, chilling with him. He imagined saving the world, sure, but his heaven was just Kakashi. And Rin. Forever. On loop. //dies//

4. "I'll Be Your Eyes." Obito gives Kakashi his eye before dying. Like some kind of symbolic marriage proposal if you squint a little. And Kakashi cries over him, behaving like a widow, and keeps his memory alive every day, in tiny but important ways.

5. That Ending Scene. That wasn’t just bros. That was the “we could’ve had a life together” moment. The what if. The goodbye. The "I would’ve stayed by your side forever if you hadn’t gone down this path" type of heartbreak.

7. “You remind me of myself.”

Kishimoto mirrors the Naruto/Sasuke dynamic with Obito/Kakashi. The obsessive bond, the “I’ll bring you back” arc, the emotional entanglement—Obito is the Sasuke, and Kakashi is the Naruto in reverse.

But Why Didn’t It Go Full Romance?

Because shonen rules. That's literally it. lol

TL;DR

Is there a canon romance? No. Just strong brotherly I'd-die-for-you-in-a-heartbeat-even-if-you-destroy-the-world vibes. (Because I love you, but no homo. 😭)

Is there a clear undercurrent—a vibe, a what if, an intensity that goes beyond platonic friendship? Yes. Hell yes. Absolutely.

Whether you ship it or not, it’s undeniable that Kakashi’s love for Obito is the deepest, most enduring connection of his life. And Obito loved him back (dude sacrificed himself unasked, twice...)

Sakumo needed some love ❤️

I came across this cool photograph with hard lighting and was inspired to do a speed paint referencing it. It’s been a while since I did more realistic style but when I’m in the mood, it’s so fun!

And on a side note: I really do think there could have been something else going on behind the scenes to drive Sakumo to do what he did. Like, there is no way someone saving their comrades could be ostracized so badly when that’s uh… kind of one of the main things nost shinobi get taught? Is teamwork? Like, I get it, complete the mission at all costs but with everything fucky that happened within the government of the leaf, there is no way that something *wasnt* going on, yanno?

Anyway my HC is that Sakumo committed seppuku to restore honour to his family name so that Kakashi wouldn’t have to be punished for his own mistakes. It was either that or he was going to die in a “mysterious accident on mission”.(not by his own hand of course.) (I have thought too long about this).

Sakumo deserved so much better.

(HE WAS FAMOUS. HE HAD A NAME. He was a genius and a giant asset to the Leaf! It makes no sense they would do that to him!)
