✨LOGO MAKING✨
I was given an activity to make a logo for the following companies sustainable bags, house painter and book publisher out of which I chose book publisher. I had the most difficulty in the initial planning. I was very confused about what to name it and how I should make it unique and different from the other book publishers. After giving it a lot of thought I decided that the books the publishing company is gonna print are gonna be fictional. So in addition to that I decided to come up with a fictional name. Now I decided to add my interests into this activity and named it "hogsmeade". It is a village in harry potter which consists of all sort of things so just like that my publishing company will cover all genres. Now that I was done with the name I had to come up with the persona of the company. Now the thing is coming up with a persona of a non existing thing is not that easy as it seems. I just thought of some colors which I can associate my brand with for me the colors were mustard and brown because they give me a very warm vibe. According to the warm colors in my imagination I thought of my company as sophisticated and artistic. Now finally it was time for the logo. Few of my scribbles are as following.

So I thought about making a diagram of a village which was hard because I didn't know if I should make a line diagram or more also in the village the door that I made was a book because it takes you to the a different world of imagination. Now my final 5 logos are as following.

✨THROUGH THE LENS✨
This was a very interesting assignment for me. It was for me to test my Photoshop skills. So what I had to do was take photographs according to the themes anx edit them on photoshop. The themes were Softness & Serenity, Power & Structure, Drama & Dialogue and Nature & Community. It was very interesting to see how different element of composition make up an environment to produce a theme. For me everything seemed like drama and dialogue. So I took the pictures and through editing I enhanced the themes that I was looking in them. Its also very interesting how themes were so subjective if something was drama for me and a different theme for others. My favorite image was of the theme Softness & Serenity which is as follows.

This was the unedited original image.

This was the edited version. Furthermore we had to make a digital collage which I made out of my self portrait so experimenting with that was very fun and interesting.
✨DOMINANT VISUALS✨
In this activity I had to take pictures of the dominants visual of my city (this could be a picture of ad, billboards or posters). The discussion we had about this in the class was very interesting and engaging. The billboards around the city showed the mentality of the people around us. It was utterly disgusting to see some of the billboards. There was a billboard of a girl eating a burger in a very "sexual" way which made pretty much all of us uncomfortable the picture of the billboard is as following.
This can be seen from a far away. Sexualizing a girl to promote a product is very disrespectful.
Moreover there was another poster which showed a certain class and middle aged man for a bank advertisment to attract a certain kind of audience which is as follows
Advertisment and the billboards around the city shows a lot about the society in my opinion and this activity made me realize that.

I was given an assignment to obstruct a story and present it visually. The story that I chose was Sohni Mahiwal, an urban legend of south asia about the unrequited love between the two.The original story was about the two who couldn't make it to the end due to persecutions that surrounded them. The both of them became victims of each other's love and that became the sole reason of their demise.

I chose to modernize the story and background with western elements. I presented external factors in the form of a long distance relationship and Mahiwal's past returning to haunt him causing an irrecoverable loss. My initial plan of execution was to present visually through a short film adding three main characters using their silhouettes only, however due to constraints that could not have been executed to its full potential. It wasn't the way I wanted to potray it.

I settled on developing a book cover illustrating how a love so strong can lose its strength with physical distance testing its strength. To create and edit the book cover I experimented with a few website and applications however PicsArt gave the best result helping me in its creation. For illustrating physical distance I initially wanted to use the map of united states of america however, I settled on just using just California and New York to avoid complication and overcrowding the background.

I chose to edit in the girl and the boy within the map trying to create an imagery in the viewers mind so they can imagine a story before reading it. Initially it was difficult for me to replace the obstruction which in the original story was the sister in law but then I managed it by replacing her with the male protagonist's ex. Through the addition of the book cover my attempt to reimagine Sohni Mahiwal in a completely light was successful.

In the end, I just added the title to make it look more like a book cover and portray it with a story.

A man's heart is a wretched, wretched thing. It isn't like a mother's womb. It won't bleed. It won't stretch to make room for you.

Learn this now and learn it well. Like a compass facing north, a man’s accusing finger always finds a woman. Always. You remember that.

people should fall in love more. fall in love with poetry. fall in love with books. fall in love with the way your coffee swirls as soon as you pour the milk in. fall in love with the look your dog gives you when you wake up. fall in love with the rare moment when your cat doesn’t ignore you. fall in love with the person who tells you to have a good day. fall in love with the waiter who gives you extra chicken nuggets. fall in love with sweaters in winter and cold lemonade in summer. fall in love with the moment your head hits the pillow. fall in love with talking to someone until 4am. fall in love with the days you can hit the snooze button over and over again. fall in love when a lover stares at you for five hours. fall in love with the stars when they look at you. fall in love with the sound of someone breathing. fall in love with the bus if it’s on time or the train if it comes early. fall in love with the song you can't get out of your head. fall in love with everything possible. <3

Most of the problems of the world stem from linguistic mistakes and simple misunderstandings. Don’t ever take words at face value. When you step into the zone of love, language as we know it becomes obsolete. That which cannot be put into words can only be grasped through silence.

Not to be over dramatic or anything but the decline in popularity of hand written letters is one of the most disappointing decisions we've made as a modern society.
