VICTORIA HARGRAVE; (n) the thirty year old wedding planner who is the reincarnation of Hera

REMEMBER VICTORIA

Hera is the goddess of marriage, women, and the sky. She is a daughter of Kronos and Rhea, sibling to Hestia, Demeter, Hades, Poseidon, and Zeus. Like her siblings, she was swallowed at birth by her paranoid father, Kronos. He feared that a prophecy that one of his children would overthrow him, so he swallowed all of his children as a precaution. She and her siblings remained trapped in their father’s stomach until their younger brother Zeus who was not swallowed after Rhea tricked Kronos by giving him a rock wrapped in a blanket instead and having him raised in secret. Upon being freed, Hera fought alongside her brother and the rest of their siblings in the Titanomachy, eventually defeating their father. After the war, she married Zeus, making her the queen of the gods. Her marriage to Zeus is infamous and far from what you would expect for a goddess of marriage. Zeus was often unfaithful and fathered many demigods and gods during his escapades. Perhaps even more infamous was Hera’s temper. She was very angry with Zeus and jealous, so she often tormented his mistresses and the children that came from her husband’s affairs, coming up with new and crueler ways to punish them, never being able to go after her own husband who actually deserved it due to him being far more powerful than her.

THIS IS HER LEGACY

Victoria’s childhood was seemingly perfect, in the beginning. She grew up in a standard middle class family in Miami, her father working in finance and her mother staying home to take care of her and her younger sister. Victoria admired her parents, witnessing the love they had for each other, believing it to be pure and hoping one day she could experience the same. However, one day while tidying up the house Victoria’s mother happened upon a slip with a random phone number on it. Calling the number, she found the voice on the other end to be a woman, who admitted to her that she had been seeing Mr. Hargrave for awhile now. Victoria’s mother was shocked and upon confronting him, he packed up his bags and abandoned their family, eventually marrying his mistress and starting another family with her, leaving Victoria’s mother heartbroken and raising two children on her own.

Life after her father leaving was difficult, but her mother was a strong woman and did everything she could to take care of her and her sister. The three grew closer than ever, and she still keeps in contact with them regularly. Victoria was infuriated with her father, cutting him off right after he left and she still refuses to speak with him this day, no matter how much he tries to get into contact with her. He broke her mother’s heart, broke the vows in their marriage, and destroyed a family. It’s unforgivable in her eyes.

Victoria had always wanted to leave Miami and go somewhere else, try to find other gods. Her intuition led her to New York City after college, where she got a internship working for a prestigious wedding planner in the Big Apple. She worked hard, impressing the planner and she eventually hired her. She worked there for a few years, saving money until she could open her own studio. Her loyal customers and many new ones followed her over and it was a huge success. She has gained the pockets of many in the Upper East Side, Victoria being their go to for planning any events or weddings.
