Tinder is launching a new safety feature
Tinder is introducing a feature that lets users run background checks on required dates, as the company continues to address concerns about the safety of users on dating apps. This new feature of Tinder gives users the opportunity to search the criminal records on potential dates
Users can avail up to two free checks and this won't reveal any personal data but will show if the user has a violent past or any other information which is deemed as risky to a user's safety. After using the first two free background checks, users have to pay $2.50 to conduct background checks.
Match Group Inc.’s Tinder has teamed up with a nonprofit organization to offer this background checks feature. Match Group said it has been developing the tool since last March, when it announced an investment in Garbo Technology Corp., a nonprofit background check organization. Tinder members who tap the feature in the app’s safety center will be directed to Garbo to fill in information about themselves as well as details about their match, such as name and phone number. Garbo will surface arrests and convictions for certain violent crimes, as well as sex offender registry status, and indicate whether it has high, medium or low confidence in the results.
In a recent tweet, Tracey Breeden, head of safety and social advocacy at Match Group said that “This is an initiative that’s been done in this industry. My vision is really focused on preventing not just physical harm, but psychological, emotional abuse, harassment.”
In addition to background checks, Tinder has added features to verify identity and prompt users to reconsider sending messages that could be seen as harassment.

YouTube Creators streaming live will now have a ring around the channel avatar and clicking on the avatar will take you directly to the livestream.”
“And in the months ahead, we will bring even more engagement and monetization options across all three formats,” Neel Mohan added.
Besides this, YouTube has also planned to introduce collaborative livestreaming, and gifted memberships. The collaborative live streaming feature helps creators go live together. YouTube is testing gifted memberships feature where users can purchase a channel membership for another viewer in the livestream with a small group of channels.

Top 5 Amazing facts about Amazon that You Might be Surprised to Know
Being an ecommerce giant, almost everyone has used Amazon to buy or sell something. While Amazon is invading the ecommerce industry, there are some interesting facts you need to know.
1.Started as a bookstore: When Amazon was started in 1995, it was a bookstore run out of his home garage. So when Amazon opened their first physical bookstore in 2015, it was staying true to the roots of the company. The first book sold on Amazon was “Fluid Concepts and Creative Analogies” written by Douglas Hofstadter. 2. Second business to accomplish $1 trillion in market capitalization Among the most fascinating statistics about Amazon is that it is only the second firm in history to reach $1 trillion in revenue. Given that Amazon earns 49 cents for every dollar bought online in the United States, this is unsurprising. In 2018, Apple became the first firm to hit the $1 trillion mark.
3. Amazon Will Pay Employees To Leave The Company Amazon introduced a "Pay to Quit" program in 2014 with the goal of reducing the number of unmotivated warehouse workers at its fulfillment sites. If a person resigns, they will receive anything from $2000 to $5000, depending on how long they have worked there. (Employees must have been with the company for at least a year.) What's the catch? You will never work for the company again if you accept the money. Only about 10% of the first wave of employees who were offered the deal took it.
4. Amazon Bought a Robotics Business in 2012
Kiva Systems was purchased by Amazon for $775 million. This small robotics firm provided its new owner with mobile robots that were designed to transport item racks from worker to worker and scan barcodes on the surface for guidance. Amazon received an army of robots custom-built to whizz around buildings and fulfill shipping demands at breakneck speed as part of the agreement. Kiva had committed to maintain distributing its technology to other suppliers even as an Amazon subsidiary. But it didn't pan out that way: Amazon renamed Kiva to Amazon Robotics in the spring of 2015.
5. Amazon is a pet-friendly environment.
Amazon's employees love having their pets around the office. There are about 6,000 dogs that work at Amazon's campus in Seattle. It has always been a pet-friendly environment. There is even a doggy deck in one of the buildings with a fake fire hydrant.
Among these, which of the fact amazed you?
