a lot of the people most insistent they are writing their fic with safer sex practices (especially for BDSM) specifically because they feel it's their job to educate people via said fic on how to do stuff irl are also clearly the people least equipped to do that. i mean. you're saying you should never show unsafe kink practices in a fic because people may emulate it, not even with a disclaimer or by positioning it as unsafe in-text- and then you're acting like rope bondage is some super low-risk thing and not portraying a single safety measure? listen, you can not give a shit about realism if you want, but if you do give a shit about it and then you write fic where any attempt to interpret what's going on in an IRL context inevitably leads to the conclusion 'everyone here is getting horrific nerve damage sometime soon and nobody knows checking in isn't optional', that's uhhhhhhhh

the genius of megamind (beyond the obvious genius ofc) is that it's superman parody actually presents a genuinely unsettling depiction of the "hero" that I like wayyy better than "what if superman was evil" or "what if superman was wrong"... it's "what if superman didn't care"

What really ticks me off when talking about ai is when people are like "it's unavoidable" or "you'll have to learn to use it someday" or "its going to be part of the future" like no it's plenty avoidable actually if you have a spine stronger than a dandelion.
