Who wants to read my fave metaphor for Catra and Adora's relationship?

Imagine vines that were planted next to each other, but nobody ever gave them a proper trellis for support as they grow. So they just grow up twisted into each other because they only have each other. And it's tricky to separate them without harming them, but the situation still isn't good for either of them. Neither of them are getting enough sunlight.

And then they did get separated, but instead of carefully being untangled, they were just forced apart--and yeah, it hurt them both. They lost some metaphorical leaves in the process, had some of their vines broken.

And even as those spots heal, there's still going to be scars. You'll still be able to tell they were tangled together, at first.

Post-canon they do have a trellis (aka the love and support of other people) and so they can keep growing together but in a healthier way.

I may have pushed this metaphor to the breaking point but it's accurate!

If you’re in Australia, what about dental care in Medicare?

If you’re in Europe, look into some EU initiatives of particular concern. Perhaps something to do with nature and biodiversity? Idk

so apparently in 815 CE there was a common belief that sky pirates sailed ships in the clouds and (working in collaberation with frankish weather wizards) stole all the crops that got damaged in storms and took them back to the cloud realm of magonia.

And this was apparently a common enough belief that an archbishop felt the need to write a treatise to debunk it and insist that only god controls the weather, which is the only reason we know about it.

I work in a retirement community, and there's a floral shop just a couple blocks away, and they deliver to us nearly daily--the residents where I work are fairly wealthy and love buying each other fancy bouquets.

In 2019 Daci was going to visit me for the first time. A few days before I call the florist saying, "Hey, so I work at front desk of [employer] and you deliver here all the time, and I was hoping to order something delivered later this week, but my budget is kinda small." But then I mentioned, "Yeah, after work that day I'm going straight to the airport to meet my girlfriend for the first time--" and you should've heard the way his voice changed from "polite customer service" to "enthusiastic and excited for me" lolol

And like, I can't say for sure that part of his excitement was my obviously not being straight, but I do think that was part of it.

Especially since he sold me a several branches of beautiful tiger lilies (and some other things to go with them) and undercharged me for them.
