“It’s me and you, babe, till the end.” Chapter 32
Negan x OC // word count:  1555
Masterlist : x
Wrote this probably about two years ago. Since then, a lot has happened in the show, which I’m not up to date to as far as the details go. Haven’t watched the show since... Can’t even remember. Seen bits and pieces here and there but haven’t seen the last two? three? seasons and have a lot to catch up on. Quite the task.
Both Simon and Rob had looked confused when she first exited the room with Negan, then decided to ignore her when Negan barked orders at them. He told Rob to take the day off, joking that he had one of the easiest job there was, so there wasn't much relaxing to be done. Simon was given a task too, he was supposed to find out if Dwight had returned and meet them outside, Negan wanted to show her Eugene. She didn't ask what he meant by that and knowing she'd soon find out, got a little anxious. Knowing Negan, it could be literally anything. Even though he said it wasn't bad, she didn't entirely believe him when he said that.
Letting go of her hand, Negan opened the door to the stairs and she went in first, starting to go down. He followed her, whistling a tune as they descended slowly, Emilia didn't want to move that much, she had made progress by staying in bed for days and she didn't want to ruin it all now. "You're really not lying?" she asked, after a man had walked by them, going up. "About what?" "Eugene." Negan sighed, "You'll see for yourself, any minute now. Have some damn patience." Fine. Emilia decided not to ask anything else if she got answers like that and just kept walking the stairs, getting a little winded already, she hadn't walked this much in days. Finally they got all the way down to the right floor and Emilia sighed, her sights on the door that eventually lead out. "Now, hold up," Negan said behind her before she could reach the door and she turned around, her eyebrows raised. "You know the rules," he said, looking down at her, the bat resting on his shoulder. "What rules?" she asked, not a hundred percent sure what he meant. Negan started smiling, "The rules baby. Come on, don't tell me that after everything, it all went in one ear and right out the other," he said and tsked, still smiling. "I'm not going to do anything," she said, rolling her eyes, "I told you, I'll behave," she said, then smiled, "I'll try." Negan reached his hand over and put it behind her neck, his arm resting on her shoulder, then leaned closer, "I really need you to behave after all that shit that went down," he said with a low voice, "Now, I'm not going to warn or threaten you, 'cause I don't want to do that, but..." "But you'll do something if I do something, right?" she asked, not happy about what he was saying. She could behave, damn it, she didn't need to be threatened. Negan smiled, the smile not reaching his eyes, "Probably not, but it sure fucking sucks when you're not listening to me. It makes me look really fucking bad around here. They'll start to think I've got a soft spot for you," he joked. "God forbid people think you actually have a heart," she joked back, crossing her arms across her chest, "Oh wait, you don't." Negan chuckled at that, leaning closer,  "I think yours is enough for both of us, huh?" he whispered, "And on second thought, I'm pretty goddamn sure they already noticed I'm crazy about you, there's more than enough evidence to back that shit up," he said, smirking, then moved his hand over her shoulder, turning her around and lead her towards the exit, "Now, let's go darlin', I got something to show ya."
When they got there, she couldn't believe her eyes. Eugene looked completely fine, well-adjusted even. Her and Negan were standing on a raised ledge near the main entrance, looking down at the gated area with roamers. Eugene was minding his business, he hadn't noticed them observing him yet. "See, told you," Negan said, then pulled her closer to him, his arm slung over her shoulders. "So, what's the deal with him?" she asked, narrowing her eyes towards Eugene, squinting because of the bright sun. She wondered if Eugene switched sides so easily or was he pretending, it seemed this option was better than to rot in a cell. "He's valuable, smart. Has a lot of great ideas. You should listen to him speak," Negan said, chuckling, "Shit, you probably have. Look at me forgetting you're from the same group." She had heard him talk though, and she knew he could talk his way out of anything, she remembered hearing how he got Abraham and Rosita to help him and keep him safe. "Huh," she said, still finding it hard to believe what she was seeing, "I don't know what to say." Eugene glanced at their direction, then had to do a double take, seeing who was watching him. Negan waved at him with the bat since he wasn't in the hearing distance, a big grin on his face and Eugene waved back, looking a little hesitant. "You surprised I treat people well when they contribute? When they do their part?" Negan asked, turning to face her. Suddenly a cool gust of wind blew and she shivered, obviously not wearing enough layers for this weather. "No, it's just," she said, pushing her hair out of her face since the wind was flying them all around, "Nothing," she said, not knowing how to express what she was thinking, nor if she should. She got a feeling that Eugene was pretending, that he was still loyal to Rick. It wouldn't make sense he switched sides this easy, since Negan killed Abraham and those two were close. She looked at Eugene again, wondering what he was up to. "Spill it out," Negan said and she saw that he was staring at her, but her eyes were peeled on Eugene, now standing with his back towards them. "Nothing," she said, then turned to Negan and smiled, "I'm just surprised." Negan looked almost offended but then brushed it off. He glanced at Eugene, "You want to talk to him?" Emilia thought she heard wrong. "Talk to him? Me?" Negan looked back to her, a glint in his eyes, "Go and ask him why he's such a pussy and didn't help you when Jason was so goddamn obviously trying to kill you." Emilia didn't answer, which seemed to amuse Negan for some reason. Maybe she had a look on her face. "You really up for gettin' yourself hurt over someone like that?" The look in his eyes darkened as he looked at her intently. "Let it go already," she said with a low voice, "I don't want to talk about it." He scoffed, "Got you feeling pretty fucking stupid I guess-" Emilia interrupted by elbowing him into the stomach, which made him chuckle but at least he shut up. She ignored Negan and turned her eyes back to Eugene, observed him as he strolled around the walker pit, occasionally writing something down. It was odd, seeing him that calm over there. But when she thought about it a little more, she understood that he had no other option to be that way. Stay calm and obedient to survive. Maybe you should've done the same.
Someone approaching from behind stole her attention away from Eugene, and she looked back to see Simon apporaching. "Hey, boss," he said and stopped a few steps away from them. Negan turned to him too, "What is it?" "Uh, need to talk," he glanced at Emilia, "In private." "Shit," Negan said and turned to Emilia, "I thought we'd go and talk to Eugene over there, that would've been goddamn interesting." Emilia thought that she would've skipped that gladly. Now that she was out here, she wanted to go back up. She started noticing that people stared and it made her a bit uncomfortable. "You can get yourself up there by yourself, can you?" Negan asked her, smiling. She nodded. "Go," Negan placed his hand on her back an pushed her gently. So, as she had no other option but to go, she did excatly that, without any protesting or questions. She did wonder what it was that Simon needed to tell him in private. Maybe it was about Amber, maybe it was something else. There were a hundred options and while she slowly and carefully walked upstairs, she thought about all of those.
-
"You see him?" "Yes." "Can you do it?" Rosita asked, sounding almost excited. "Nah, I don't think I can, Emilia's there." "What?" "Yeah, Eugene too." "And? Take the shot," Rosita insisted, itching for Sasha to shoot and kill Negan already. "I can't, she's... She's blocking him." "Well, shit. You sure there isn't a way?" "No." "What are they doing?" "I don't know, talking. Eugene looks like he's ordering people around." "What?" "Yeah, guess they're both pretty content over there," Sasha said, disappointed at what she was seeing. Rosita didn't see, but she sounded disappointed too, "Pretending, they're both pretending." "I sure hope so," Sasha said, still looking at Negan and Emilia through the scope. Emilia's back was towards her, so she didn't see what she was doing, but Negan was smiling and talking to her, looking all happy, something he shouldn't get to be. Not after everything, and she was intent on making sure she saw the day he was dead and be the one that killed him.

“It’s me and you, babe, till the end.” Chapter 31
Negan x OC // word count: 2310
"What the hell?" Joan asked, looking in the direction Rob and Emilia had just walked off, then turned her attention to Sherry. "I don't know, but you better go," Sherry answered, shrugging. "I'm so confused," Joan said, glancing back again, "Why was he not allowed to go? Or her?" Sherry thought for a second and had to agree, it was a little strange, "Go, we'll talk about it later, yeah?" Joan nodded, then started to go, "Yeah, I'll better go I guess," she muttered and took off, Sherry watched her go for a moment before turning around and went to take a shower herself.
Joan had gotten back before Sherry, and was whispering something to Dana when she noticed Sherry entering the room and beckoned her over. "Hey, did you see Amber while you were down there?" Sherry asked as she was walking over and sat into one of the armchairs that were opposite the couch Joan and Dana were sitting on. Joan shook her head, her red curls flying around her face, "Doctor Carson wasn't very keen on talking to me about her, just that she's fine." "I heard that she's in really bad shape, like, really bad," Dana said, her eyes big as saucers. Joan and Sherry exchanged worried glances, they were the ones who helped Amber after she had asked them. But they needed to keep their mouths shut, just in case. Plus Sherry had other things to worry about too. "So, let's talk about Emilia," Joan said, leaning back and crossing her legs, "Are we out of work here? Will Negan throw us out and we'll have to find jobs for ourselves?" Sherry didn't mind that scenario, not even a little, "I don't know," she answered. "I doubt it," Dana said, "I mean, no way, right?" Joan nodded, frowning, "I can't lose this," she said, looking anxious, "I can't live down there, no." Dana nodded her head, agreeing with Joan. "We have to do something," Joan offered, turning to Dana, who kept nodding, then they both looked at Sherry. "What do you mean?" Sherry asked, not sure what could be done. "I thought Melissa was crazy, but now..." Joan said, glancing between Sherry and Dana, hoping they would connect the dots. "She was," Sherry said, "And she got punished. A little unfairly but it's not that surprising." Joan and Dana both looked at Sherry with a surprised look, "That was way over the top," Dana said, "And Jason, did you hear about that?" "I was there," Sherry answered. She wasn't really there, she was observing from the distance but she still saw and heard most of it. "Joan, what are you hinting at?" Sherry asked her, "You mentioned Melissa, what did you mean?" "She saw this coming, she was right after all." "So, what, you want to do something to Emilia?" Sherry asked, thinking it was a bad idea on multiple levels. Joan shrugged, looking unsure herself. "Joan, he obviously likes her too much, look at what happened to Melissa and Jason." "But..." Joan said, sighing, "I don't get it." "Me neither," Sherry answered, "Joan, you're not blind nor stupid, don't even think about doing anything to her, don't even speak about it. If anyone should hear..." "You're right, forgot I even mentioned it, it's a horrible idea. It's not her fault." Dana nodded, agreeing with Joan. She was quick to agree with anything Joan said and as quick to change her opinion when Joan's changed. Sherry leaned forward, "Your focus is on the wrong person," she said, almost whispering, "It's Negan who you should want dead."
-
It didn't take too long for doctor Carson to arrive. He knocked quietly and Emilia opened the door to let him in. As he was entering, looking all sweaty and nervous, Emilia realized that he was probably busy down there. "Uh," she said quietly, following him to the sitting area where he had quickly walked and put his things on the coffee table. Emilia had clothes on now, the same pants she had been wearing the last time and the same old blue shirt, she wasn't gonna meet him naked with a blanket around her. "I hope you weren't too busy?" she asked, carefully observing him as he fussed around with his things, taking out bandages and cotton from his bag. "No, no, uh," he said then finally looked at her and smiled, "What's bothering you?" "I took the bandages off, maybe you have a band-aid or something for me?" she asked, not really knowing at what stage of healing she was, hoping she didn't need to be wrapped up uncomfortably again. "Let me see," he said and waited until she lifted her shirt up and moved closer to him so he could get a look. "I think I can put a band-aid on, I see that you've been finally sitting still," he said and chuckled awkwardly, then glanced at the bedroom door. "He's sleeping," she said, realizing he was scared of Negan. Probably. He nodded, turning around to get a large band-aid from his bag and set it on the table, then proceeded to clean the wound. He gently dabbed at the wound and the skin around it with a wet cotton ball. "How's Amber?" she asked, then saw that he wasn't expecting to be asked that. "Uh, I'm not allowed to..." "To tell me?" she interrupted. She understood that he wasn't, when he glanced at the bedroom door again. Emilia sighed, "Tell me. He won't find out." Carson shook his head, quickly turning away from her and picked up the band-aid with shaking hands. "Are you okay?" she asked, now getting genuinely worried, he looked a mess. What's going on down there? "Me?" he asked, looking up at her, then covered her wound with a large band-aid. "You, Amber." Eugene. "Yes, of course," he muttered, turning away from her again. Emilia sighed, realizing he wasn't gonna speak to her or tell her anything. You're gonna get him in trouble somehow, you always manage to do it even if you don't intend to. She wanted to ask him why he was so scared but it wasn't her business so she decided to drop it and leave the poor man alone, he looked he was stressed as it is. "Done?" she asked, looking down on her now covered wound and smoothed the edges of the bandage with her fingers, pressing it gently against her skin. "Yes. I'm going to leave a few of these here for you," he said, taking some bandages from his bag and put them on the table, "So you can change it, I guess you can do that yourself from now on." Emilia smiled, "Thank you. I think you can go now, you look like you really don't want to be here." She meant it as a joke but the look on the doctor's face indicated that she had hit the nail right on the head with that. "Go," she said, smirking and watched him put his things away nervously. Jesus. He hurried past her after he was done and ready to go, opening the door to Simon and Rob standing behind it, both turning to look at them, at first glancing at Emilia then Simon asked the doctor to go out and speak with him. Uh-oh.
Emilia stood still, wondering what was going on when she heard quiet knocking on the door. She immediately walked over and opened it, all three of them there, the doctor pacing back and forth behind Rob and Simon. "We're gonna need you to wake Negan up," Simon said, looking down at her, his hands on his hips. "Why? What happened?" she asked, glancing at Rob for a second. "Just wake him up," Simon said with an annoyed tone, refusing to answer. "He asked not to be woken up," she lied, really wanting to find out what this was about, "You can tell me, I'll tell him when he wakes up," she offered. Simon looked speechless for a moment, then shrugged, "I mean, if he said so," he said, then scratched his head, "Tell him then that, uh, Amber died. Just now." What? "Are you fucking kidding me?" she asked, shocked. Shocked by the news and now by her own reaction. "Uh, no, I'm not fucking kidding," Simon said, shrugging again. Rob just looked uncomfortable, it didn't look like he cared that much, the doctor was standing with his back to them now, she didn't know how he was feeling. "Well, damn," Emilia said, kind of speechless herself. "Okay," she said, nodding, "I'll let him know. As a matter of fact, I'll wake him up, I uh, think this is important?" she said, too shocked to even understand what she was saying or doing. "Alright, you do that," Simon said curtly and nodded his head, then turned to the doctor, "Doc, you go deal with Amber why don't you?" Emilia didn't see or hear what happened next, she closed the door and turned to go and wake Negan up. What the fuck? What the actual fuck?
-
"Negan, wake up," Emilia's voice said. She was shaking him by his arm, trying to wake him up. "What?" he asked, not opening his eyes and turned his back to her, he was having the nicest damn nap. "Wake the fuck up please, Amber died," she said. "What?" he asked, now not sure if he was dreaming or not. He turned back around to Emilia hovering over him, her hands grabbing him by his right arm. "Amber what?" "She fucking died," she exclaimed, "I asked doctor Carson to come up here and she fucking died while he was bandaging me up again." "When did this happen? How long was I asleep?" he asked, starting to get up. Emilia took a step back so he could sit on the edge of the bed. "Just now. I don't know, an hour or two, I don't know." "Calm down, what are you freaking out about?" he asked and rubbed his eyes, then looked at her again. "It's a fucking joke, right? She dies when I call the doctor away? Why the fuck didn't I just go down there myself?" Negan stood up and sighed, then placed his hands on her shoulders, trying to calm her down. He found it quite funny, how she was freaking out about it, "You think it's your fault or something? Baby," he said and chuckled. "What's so funny?" she exclaimed again. "She was in a bad shape as it was, it would've happened either way." "What the hell? You told me she'd be fine." "Emilia, baby," he said, then sighed, "It's a damn shame she died, but it has got nothing to do with you. Now calm the fuck down, yeah?" "I can't believe it," she said, shaking her head but looked like she was calming down. "You said I was asleep for how long?" he asked, remembering what she had told him. "Uh, I don't know," she said, shrugging. Negan removed his hands from her shoulders and started to look for his clothes, to get dressed. "An hour or two you said? Is Simon here by any chance? I did ask him to meet me." "Um..." Emilia said. Negan pulled his pants up and turned to look at her. "I kind of told Rob that if anyone should come knocking, that he'd send them away." Negan sighed, "You what?" "I didn't want anyone to disturb us," she said, biting her bottom lip and smiled, probably hoping to look all innocent and cute. "Baby," Negan sighed, leaning down to pick up his T-shirt from the floor. "I know. But it doesn't matter, I still woke you up." "So if Amber hadn't died I would still be sleeping, having nice dreams and Rob would've sent Simon away?" Emilia shrugged, "Don't tell me you wouldn't prefer to stay here," she said, smiling, "I was just about to join you." "You're killing me," he said, chuckling, then put his T-shirt on, almost ready to leave. "They waiting out there?" he asked, quickly putting his socks on, then his boots. "Uh-huh," she answered. When he was ready and dressed, he turned to look at Emilia and sighed, then walked over to her, "Emilia, darlin'," he said, then wrapped his arms around her shoulders and pulled her closer so her head was resting against his chest, her arms circling his waist, "Don't ever do shit like that again, yeah?" he said, then planted a kiss on her head, "While it kind of turns me on that you'd lie like that for your own selfish reasons, I still have a fucking job to do here. Trust me, I would gladly stay in that damn bed with you for days but I just can't do that right now, you understand baby?" Emilia sighed, "Uh-huh. Sorry." Negan leaned back to look at her, "Why are you sorry? It didn't even work," he said, grinning, "Although I'm surprisingly impressed they even believed you. Impressed but pissed," he chuckled, "How about that, huh?" "How long will you be?" she asked, frowning up at him. "Not long, I'll be running back to you in no time." "Can I come?" Negan scoffed, "Why?" "Because I want to." "You'll behave?" "Will you?" Negan smiled, "Fine, suit yourself. Maybe I'll even show you Eugene, be prepared to be surprised," he said, stepping back from her and ready to go out. "Why?" she asked, narrowing her eyes at him. Negan reached his left arm out, "You'll see, nothin' to worry about. You coming?" She took his hand and they started moving, Emilia following him out. Negan grabbed Lucille on his way out, leaning her on his right shoulder. "Let's deal with this shit then," he sighed before they both stepped out, Simon and Rob waiting outside the door.

Notes:  After this disappointing season(*cough* not enough Negan*cough*), I just haven’t been inspired enough to write. Anyways, right now I’m half-asleep and wanted to post this, even if it is a shorter one :)

“It’s me and you, babe, till the end.” Chapter 30
Negan x OC // word count: 3271
Summary: Mostly Emilia and Negan talking, reminiscing.
Notes: Fucking finally, am I right? Anyway, this chapter(and a few upcoming chapters) will be a little more laid back, probably. I’ll try. Need some quiet before the big storm you know.

"Don't say shit like that," she said, starting to get a little irritated now. She tried her best to tolerate the way he spoke about them but even she had a point when it was enough. Negan responded with a scoff, "That's the truth baby." "Well, yeah, but," she started but gave up and pursed her lips instead, her hand idly stroking his hair. "Shit, I got a headache now, thinking about all that fucking shit, goddamn it," Negan cursed and moved away from her to lie on his back and started rubbing the bridge of his nose with his fingers. "Give me your hand," she said and held hers out, waiting. "Why?" "Just give it to me." Negan gave her his left hand and she took it into both of hers, then with her thumb and fingers, applied pressure to the area between his thumb and index finger, squeezing the soft spot. Negan frowned, staring at what she was doing. "Is it working?" she asked, smiling. "Is what working?" "It's a pressure point," she said, squeezing harder, "Should take the headache away." Negan closed his eyes and after a few moments spoke, "I think it's working," he said and smiled. Emilia smiled, continuing what she was doing, "Good." She did that for a while, thinking about the hundred questions she wanted to ask and debating if she should even start, god knows he got annoyed easily. "When did you learn that?" he asked, promting Emilia to turn her attention to him. He was lying there with his eyes closed, his hand in hers. "Read it somewhere, I don't even remember." "In Alexandria?" he asked, then cleared his throat. Emilia thought about it for a moment but couldn't recall. "Before that I think," she answered, then remembered she read about it in a book while they stayed at the prison. "How did you meet Rick?" he asked and Emilia rolled her eyes. Real smooth. She decided to simplify it, not give him every detail. "Um, I was alone, hiding from a small group of roamers in a store somewhere when uh..." She remembered that day, vaguely though, it was so long ago, "Glenn and Daryl were on a run and they took me to Rick and..." she stopped, not being able to continue after she mentioned Glenn. "Glenn was a good person, Negan," she muttered and carefully glanced at him and saw that he was now frowning, then after a moment, sighed. "That was unnecessary, I can agree on that, but as I've told before, they forced my hand baby. You weren't there." Emilia pressed her lips together so she wouldn't say anything, even though she wanted to. Plus there were a million other questions she wanted to ask, she just didn't know where to start and if she even should. "How's the headache?" she asked instead, trying to ignore the tension in the air. Negan hummed and she took it as that he was feeling better so she stopped, then moved so she was lying on her back too, her head resting on his arm and pulled the covers over her, "Everything is so fucked," she muttered as she finally settled down and got comfortable. She heard Negan scoff next to her, "Damn right," he said, then pulled her closer and rested his hand on her chest, starting to caress her collarbone with his finger. "Who was that woman who was crying when you were bashing Jason's head in?" she asked, trying to sound casual. "Huh?" Negan asked, his voice getting sleepy and she realized he will probably fall asleep any minute now. "There was a woman..." "His girlfriend probably, don't know," Negan answered before she could finish what she started to say. "Is she one of those who would want revenge or..." Emilia said, trying to suggest that she was a little worried now. Melissa was crazy enough, who's to say that the woman wouldn't march up in there and shoot her or something. Negan sighed, "You're so fucking paranoid," he muttered. "Well, I have reasons, remember Melissa?" "Should I kill the girlfriend too? Just in case, so you could sleep at night?" Negan asked, the tone of his voice sounding a little annoyed now, "Should I kill everyone around here?" "Probably," Emilia muttered, not really meaning it, she just got annoyed for a second too. Negan chuckled, "There's the biggest goddamn guy I could find outside that door just for you, and you're still worried?" "You sure he wasn't someone's brother that I got killed? Melissa's secret boyfriend?" she asked, a smile forming on her lips, her thoughts getting ridiculous. "Goddamnit Emilia. I'll get you a gun, that'll make you happy?" Negan asked and Emilia looked to see him smiling now. "Of course," she said and smiled, "I can tell you from experience that people are far scarier and dangerous these days, I don't think I'm being overly paranoid here, I'm just being cautious." "Shit, you're starting to scare me too now, speaking like that," Negan said and opened his eyes, then turned his head to look at her, "What people are you talking about? Besides these assholes here." Emilia sighed, not wanting to dwelve into that topic, "All sorts of people, never mind." She inched closer to him and tried to turn so she could rest her head on his chest, but had trouble with it since she had to lie on her right side where her wound was. She somehow found a position where it didn't hurt at all, or wasn't that uncomfortable and took a deep breath, closing her eyes. "Hope they're all dead, the people you're talking about," Negan muttered as he moved a little too and rested his hand on her waist. "They're gone alright, or I wouldn't be here," she answered, already thinking of something else to talk about, trying to pick out the next question and ask it before he'd fall asleep. "Tell me about Amber," she said, holding her breath, hoping he didn't get mad. Negan sighed, "What?" he mumbled in response. "Amber, is she going to be okay?" "Probably," he answered, "I know you don't care, why are you asking?" "Why shouldn't I care?" she asked, thinking that she did care, she felt bad for her. "You really care?" he asked, "Huh, strange." Emilia scoffed, frowning, "Why is that strange?" "Well, the way I remember you used to not give a shit about anyone that didn't matter, that's why I liked you." "What?" she asked and couldn't help but chuckle. "Except the time you were too scared for anyone to find out that we were secretly fucking behind everyone's back. Though that was a goddamn fun time, remember?" She did remember and cringed at the memory, it had been an awkward mess at that time, now she just couldn't help but laugh about it. "The look on everyone's faces was priceless. Especially Crys, it was the first time I saw her speechless," she said and started grinning. Remembering Crys, she felt a little sad, but the memories were all good. At first they didn't tell anyone, deciding to keep it a secret. Emilia found it awkward, since Negan was the neighbor to her parents first and foremost, they even called him their friend but she knew Negan couldn't stand her step-father Jim. He later admitted that he only came around in hopes of seeing her.  Emilia couldn't help but roll her eyes when she realized Negan had steered the topic of the conversation away from Amber so quickly, she didn't even notice. "I did give a shit about people, what are you talking about?" she asked, a little offended that he'd say that. "Friends and family yes, everyone else were invisible. Can't say that I don't agree with that philosophy myself." "Well, now that you point that out," she said, starting to agree with him, "No wonder I didn't have much friends," she joked. The friends she did use to have, they were everything to her, she didn't need a hundred of them. "Now think about how fucked the world is, and then think about that is it worth having friends who are dropping like flies," Negan muttered in response. Emilia clenched her jaw, annoyed that he always found a way to remind her how he wanted to kill everyone she cared about and how she shouldn't care. "Negan, I can't just stop caring, just because you want me to." "Why not? It's easier than you think." "Is it? Who have you stopped caring about then?" "Well, shit. Does it count that I stopped, then got her back and continued caring?" he said and Emilia couldn't help it, she started laughing, his argument failing miserably. "You're an idiot," she said then realized what he had said, "Wait, you stopped? What do you mean?" she asked, her smile dropping. Negan sighed, "I thought you were dead and that sucked balls, that bummed me the fuck out, until I decided not to think about it. Easy peasy." "Oh... Well, great. Meanwhile I was a total mess," Emilia said and started thinking about the times before, before Negan stepped through the gates of Alexandria and how she almost passed out when she saw him and realized he was alive. "Didn't say I wasn't a mess," Negan muttered. Emilia thought for a bit, picking out her next question. Her head was resting on his chest, his steady heartbeat slowly starting to lull her to sleep. "What's going to happen with your wives?" she asked after a few moments of silence. She had to admit, she felt relieved when he told her that he'd stop going to them and that he had not gone to them since she arrived, it made her smile. Negan groaned, "I have no fucking clue baby, I don't give a shit about that right now." "They're gonna speak, right? You did once mention that you have a reputation to hold. Such a man, with six-I mean, five wives," Emilia said and bit her bottom lip, feeling like that last part wouldn't be that appreciated. "You making fun of me?" Negan asked, his speech a little slurred which made Emilia think he wasn't even paying that much attention to what she was saying. "I wouldn't dare," she answered jokingly. "I really gotta get you that goddamn gun, now that they're out of a job, they're gonna blame you," Negan said and chuckled, "Put them all out of work, now that's gonna make for some interesting gossip." "Goddamn it," Emilia said, smiling, "By the way, Jason did wonder why you kept me around after everything, don't remember his exact words though." "Told you, you keep making me look bad, running around acting all crazy," Negan answered. Emilia scoffed, "Yeah, I'm the crazy one, thanks for putting up with me," she said sarcastically. "You're welcome baby." Emilia scoffed again, smiling, then yawned. "I'm gonna let you sleep now, but I haven't run out of questions," she said, shifting until she felt comfortable. Negan's arm tightened around her waist as she settled down and he sighed, "I have some too but I'm sure I'm not gonna get any damn answers from you," he muttered, "Maybe that guy you're so worried about will be a little more cooperative." "Don't," Emilia said, disappointed he'd insinuate anything. "Shh," Negan said, patting his hand on her waist, "Don't worry your pretty little head," he mumbled. Emilia didn't answer, just waited and mulled things over until his breathing slowed down and he fell asleep. Her wound started iching a little, which meant that it was starting to slowly heal and since she was in no mood to move, she tried to ignore it. She opened her eyes and stared out the windows, Negan's heartbeat and slow breathing relaxing her and she focused on that, finally feeling sleepy again. She had slept so much, but felt as if she was making up for all the times she wasn't able to sleep, which felt like years. She breathed a sigh of relief when she realized she hadn't had nightmares in a while. It felt strange to sleep that well. Even in Alexandria she usually felt a little uneasy when sleeping, especially after the Wolves attacked, every little noise making her think they were under attack again.
When she had stayed still for a decent amount of time, she decided to slowly get up. She managed to do that without waking or stirring Negan, and found the robe from the floor. After that, she searched for her boots and put them on, then slowly exited the room, closing the door behind her quietly. Her next mission was to grab a bottle of water from the small crate that was next to the door, she was feeling thirsty. She drank half of a bottle, then went and put it on the coffee table for later. Taking a deep breath, she turned around and went to the door, then opened it. Rob had been leaning his head against the wall, his eyes closed and they popped open as soon as she opened the door. He cleared his throat, then when he saw it was her, he sighed, looking relieved it was her instead of Negan. "Bathroom?" he asked with a deep voice. Emilia nodded and stepped out the room, carefully closed the door behind her and started walking. Rob followed, making so much noise walking, his footsteps echoing through the hallways. Emilia glanced back at him a couple of times. Was he sleeping? She wondered if he often slept on the job. Can you blame him? He's probably bored to death. "I can give you a few books to read by the way, if you want," Emilia said, glancing back at him for a moment. "Excuse me?" Rob asked. Emilia glanced back again, he looked confused. "You looked bored, I can give you a few books to read if you'd like." "Uh, that's probably not allowed miss, books are a privilege, I'll have to give up some points." Emilia raised her eyebrows and looked ahead, they were almost there, "Really? Huh," she answered, she did not know that. "That sucks." She found the thought strange. Need points just to read books? No wonder people go insane, they're bored. "I'll ask Negan, I'm sure he wouldn't mind," Emilia said, stopping at the bathroom door and glanced back at Rob, who had already got in position. "Don't, miss, he'll think I asked..." Rob said and made a face. Emilia raised her eyebrows, surprised at his reaction, "Um...Okay, sure, I won’t," she said and nodded at him before entering the bathroom.
She hadn't planned on it, but once she was there, she decided to take a quick shower. She was doing fine until she was almost ready and got the bandages wet, then decided to remove them anyway. The wound needs some air, right? She tried to think since when was the last time she went to the doctor's and why hadn't he checked up on her. It felt good after she had taken the bandages off and stood under the streaming water, gently rubbing around the wound to clean her skin. It stung a little, but it wasn't that bad. She couldn't say that about the wound, it would take a lot of time to heal. She sighed, cursing at the fact she got shot in the first place.
Soon she was done and ready to go, but she had to think how to get to the doctor. When she exited the bathroom, Rob immediately stood up straight and looked ready to leave. "Hey, uh..." Emilia started, then narrowed her eyes, thinking. "Yeah?" Rob asked, glancing around uncertainly. "You heard that I got shot, right?" "Yeah, I saw it actually," Rob answered. Emilia raised her eyebrows, surprised, "You did?" Rob nodded. Emilia shook her head, "Anyway, I need to see the doctor but I have a feeling Negan wouldn't like it if I went down there myself," she said, hoping Rob would put the pieces together. "I can't leave," he answered. "I won't go anywhere, Negan's right there in the room with me," she argued, "You'll let someone know then. Trust me, I don't want us to get into trouble, I really don't." Rob looked hesitant, "I mean... I guess, if he's there... You ask him." Emilia sighed, "He's sleeping and I won't be the one to wake him up over such a small thing," Emilia said and started walking back, Rob following. "You won't be gone for too long, he won't even know. And if he gets mad for some reason, don't worry, he'll know it's my fault anyway," Emilia said and smiled, trying to convince him to not be so scared over such a small thing. When Rob didn't say anything, she glanced back and he looked surprised. "So, what do you say?" "Uh, I'm not sure miss." Emilia sighed, starting to persuade him but stopped when she saw one of the wives walking towards them, the redhead. Damn it. "Can she go?" Emilia muttered, turning to Rob. "I reckon she can," Rob said and started smiling, probably pleased he got off he hook. "Joan," he called out when she got closer. Joan. "Y-yes?" she asked, carefully eyeing Emilia up and down before looking at Rob. "Go to doctor Carson and tell him to come up, she uh..." "Took my bandages off," Emilia said, "Oh, tell him to knock quietly this time." Joan didn't know what she was talking about, as evident from her expression. "Negan's sleeping," Rob said. Joan nodded slowly, "Um, why am I asked to do this again?" "I'm not allowed to leave. Enough questions, go," Rob said with a stern tone. Emilia was glad he did that, because she wouldn't have known what to say to Joan. She was thinking that Joan just happened to be there when she heard footsteps again and soon Sherry appeared from the same place Joan had just a minute ago. Damn it. Well... I was bound to bump into one of them sooner or later. Emilia felt strange there, wearing nothing but a robe and boots, her hair dripping wet. "I have to get back," she muttered and passed Joan, who looked at her with an odd expression. Sherry didn't disappoint either, she looked at Emilia with an odd expression too but at least this time she didn't try to speak to her. She smiled and nodded at Sherry when she passed her. "Joan, get going," Emilia heard Rob's voice boom behind her but she didn't look back or stop, she kept walking. She heard Sherry ask Joan where was she going but Emilia walked around the corner before she could hear anything else. She glanced back again to see Rob half-jogging to catch up with her and she remembered, "Oh and Negan wanted me to tell you that if someone should come, send them back down, he doesn't want to see them today. Even if he agreed to meet with them, tell them no," Emilia said, hoping Rob would believe the lie. Negan's gonna kill me. "Sure," Rob said, a little out of breath. Emilia nodded, "The whole day, no interruption, only emergencies. And food," she said, walking towards the door. "And tell the doctor to knock guietly please, don't want to wake Negan up. I'll be right behind the door, waiting." Rob nodded, then got into his position on the chair. "Thanks," she whispered and smiled, before stepping in and quietly closing the door.

So... I haven’t neglected the story, I think about it every day. The problem is, I haven’t been writing at all because my inspiration suddenly disappeared and left me. And that sucks because I don’t want to force anything and half-ass things. I’m also waiting for the show to start again, it was so much easier to follow that storyline instead of making one up myself or follow the comic book one, I’m too lazy to finish re-reading and all those details and order of events is hard to remember and okay enough of excuses, I’ve actually started writing a chapter ahead and will have to fill in the blanks later :)
Can’t wait for the new season though, Ill probably faint when I see Negan in action again, welp
