Itโs time we have a conversation about monitoring spirits.
Youโve felt it beforeโthat unsettling energy when someone is more interested in your business than they should be. The friend who asks a little too many questions but never really shows up for you. The relative who pretends to be proud but watches your every move with quiet skepticism. The ex who doesnโt want you but doesnโt want you to move on either. These people arenโt always enemies in the obvious sense, but their presence carries an agenda.
A monitoring spirit isnโt there to support you; they are there to study, to gather information, to anticipate your next moveโsometimes to copy, sometimes to sabotage, but always to keep you within reach.
They donโt celebrate your wins, they analyze them. They donโt mourn your losses, they observe them. And when the moment is right, they will reveal what they were really there for all along.
Why do people move like this? Because your growth exposes what they refuse to confront within themselves. Because power is in knowing, and if they canโt control your moves, they will settle for predicting them. Some do it out of envy, unable to accept that what you have is a reflection of what they lack the discipline to build. Others do it out of fearโfear that your elevation will leave them behind, fear that you will realize you never needed them in the first place.
They want access without investment, proximity without purpose. They want to be close enough to claim they knew you before, yet distant enough to never have to genuinely clap when you rise.
The way to disarm a monitoring spirit is simple: starve them of certainty. Let them assume, let them speculate, let them read between lines that donโt exist.
Move in silence and protect your plans.
In a world where silent spectators disguise themselves as supporters, your greatest defense is discernment.

Know the world in yourself. Never look for yourself in the world, for this would be to project your illusion.

Interesting and insightful for parents!
โA parent's job is to make their job obsolete.โ
I like that quote because it is simple.
I am grateful to my parents for teaching me resilience and courage in this unpredictable world
