Tumblr media
Characters: Eli, Evelin (@nimue-hidden-lake)
Series: Evelin Anniversary
This one's a little more self indulgent than usual. I know this whole thing is self indulgent, but it's been on my mind so...
---------------------------------------------
It was 7pm on a Sunday...or...was it 5am on a Saturday...? Eli wasn't paying attention, his mind flooded with preoccupied thoughts and questions. He'd been laying there for hours, the dim glow of the neon string of lights above washing over his body. The lights' fade function was set, and Eli had counted the cycles as the colors rotated between each other. He didn't move, and he barely blinked...
Red...yellow...green...blue...purple...
His expression was unmoving, eyes glassy. Mere minutes seemed like hours.
Red...yellow...green...blue...purple...
He barely left his room all day...in fact, he forgot if he even left at all. All he could recall was laying there, entranced by his lights as he fixated on questions and machinations as they swirled about his headspace, crashing into each other, and against the walls of his psyche.
Red...yellow...green...blue...purple...
He was tired, but couldn't sleep. Maybe exhausted was a better word. He hadn't done anything, but he was spent.
Red...yellow...green...blue...purple-
The spell was broken as a new light creeped in from the corner of his vision. He looked over at the door and there he saw Evelin. He shook off the feeling and sat up in his bed.
"Anything I can do for you this evening?" he tried to smile.
Evelin shook her head and sat on the bedside.
"I figured I should check on you. Pinro has been wondering where you've been all day. And so have I"
He sighed and sat his head back down. staring back at the ceiling and the lights.
Red...yellow...green...blue...purple...
"You ever feel like anything and everything you do is not enough...? Like there's some arbitrary expectation you're supposed to meet, but you don't know how high it is so you just keep climbing...?"
She nodded along.
Red...yellow...green...blue...purple...
"And then you're stuck wondering what to do, because what you're climbing's turned into a tree, and there's a whole bunch of branches you gotta consider? And then the fact that picking the wrong one will cause you to end up right back where you started , or lower...?"
She nodded again, listening intently.
Red...yellow...green...blue...purple...
As he thought of hypotheticals in his mind, he finally relented, and decided to try once more.
"I still can't figure it out...why...? Why me?" he finally asked.
"Ah, so that's what this is about" she nodded again.
"All this time and I still can't figure it out...why'd you choose me?"
This question haunted him off and on. Was it insecurity? Maybe, but it sparked alot of introspection, and more questions. Eli never thought highly of himself. He wasn't anything special. He was just him. No outstanding talents, or abilities. He wasn't particularly charismatic or sociable.
It made him question...'why?' Why settle for him?
"Do you want the answer?" she shot straight.
He nodded, at a loss still.
"I chose you...for you" she said simply.
"But...there's nothing really great about me. I'm just me"
She nodded.
"You can't see it can you...?" she inquired.
He shook his head.
"No...I've always tried to prove I'm worthy of those around me. But, sometimes I wonder if I truly am. I...just want to match expectations"
He felt his head lift up, and then back down as he found himself being straddled, looking up into her eyes.
"And what expectations would you say others have of you?"
"Well...I...I don't know anymore..." he sounded lost.
"Maybe that's because there's nothing to match" she replied as she gently caressed his hair. "Sometimes we delude ourselves with our own outlooks and opinions of ourselves...often depriving ourselves of the truth of what those important to us say and think"
"You sound like you've been down this road before..." he sighed.
She nodded.
"Inadequacy...thoughts of 'not good enough'...envy of those who match the image we want for ourselves..." she recalled like it was yesterday.
"Exactly...that's exactly what I've been thinking..." his eyes widened as she spoke exactly what was on his mind.
She continued to caress his hair, running her fingers through it's fibers as she spoke.
"Regardless of your own opinions and thoughts, I want you to know this" she bent over and kissed his forehead. "Even if you feel like you haven't matched or met your own expectations...know that you never needed to for me" she smiled. "I chose you for you. Not who you think you are, or what others say you are. Eli...is Eli...and that's all you'll ever need"
His mind was slowly put at ease as her words impacted him. Such a simple answer and concept...but it was profound, at least to him, to hear it from another's lips. Especially hers.
"Hey, Evelin...?"
"Hm?"
"You're the best anyone could ever ask for..."
"Anytime"

Jealousy
Tumblr media
Characters: Eli, Evelin (@nimue-hidden-lake)
Series: Evelin Anniversary
Eli's concentration was deep, as he listened with his eyes closed. His headphones ensuring he could hear clearly. He'd been indulging for about an hour or so, before taking his headphones off and heading to the kitchen. Breaks were important, even if it was mere listening.
He grabbed a cup and began filling it with water. He felt Pinro rub against his leg, so he reached down to pat her. After hearing her purr for a moment or two, he saw her ears perk up.
"Right on time" he smiled.
"Yes. I was just about to feed Pinro" Evelin replied while taking the cat's dish. Routine as per usual. More than routine actually. She's fed a dozen or so other cats, not including Pinro. She could probably do it in her sleep. "What are you up to?"
"Same ol'. Though I am a little bit ahead. Just barely finished the last project on time, so I'm taking today off, before I work my arms off" he said with a relaxed stretch. As much as he loved his work, too much of anything wasn't good, as he learned a few days ago.
Evelin placed Pinro's dish down and pat her one last time before letting her eat her lunch.
"What are your plans for the day then?" she tilted her head.
"Dunno. Came in here to get some water. Figured I'd unwind a little today" he took a gulp from his cup. "Nothing like listening to ASMR on a nice afternoon, with no responsibilities" he shrugged.
He observed as her expression remained the same, but a certain intensity introduced itself as he gaze grew sharper.
"I know that look, what'd I do this time...?"
"I thought I was clear last time..." she coldly replied. "If you need to relax, you can come to me"
"A-Ah, so that's what this is about" he awkwardly scratched his neck. "It's not that I don't like it, I do, really. But...y'know I've never been good at asking things, and I didn't wanna bother you-"
"Why settle for someone else when I can help you instead...?" she wasn't moved.
He was at a loss for words. He couldn't tell if she was fucking with him or what.
"Wait...you aren't...jealous, are you...?"
"Yes" she replied quickly and sharply.
This was new...never had he thought he'd see the day. Eli assessed the situation as best he could.
"Well...would helping me also help you?" he proposed.
"Yes"
"And also me promising I'll come to you for relaxation, and no one else, in person or online?"
She nodded.
"Then...let's get started I guess" he announced.
Her expression lightened up. She would help in any way she could. Eli felt satisfied as well, sharing her sentiment. Expressing her emotions came in a unique way. In her case, sometimes words spoke louder than actions, and vice versa. She was hard to read, yet also impossible to misunderstand.
This time thought, it was all too clear.
"Jealous, huh...? Guess I lost a bet" he muttered under his breath as he was lead to the living room.

Massage
Cover GIF unavailable because was too lazy to find one that wasn't sus
Characters: Eli, Evelin (@nimue-hidden-lake)
Series: Evelin Anniversary
I'm behind, I know. I'll make up for it by writing the remaining two tomorrow to catch up. Haven't been feeling it today and I barely managed to squeeze this out, so I'll be caught up by tomorrow.
-------------------------------------
Hard at work again, as per usual. Eli tireless combed over his edits, as he pushed to get the remaining projects done for the last few clients this week. The home stretch was in sight.
Clicky clackity click
It had been some hours. He got serious about his job. It was for someone else after all, and they were paying him. So, no excuse for slacking off.
A few more slides, one more edit, and a last refinement and it was finally done, after half a day's worth of nonstop work. He let out a sigh as he began rendering it and sat back in his chair.
It felt rather relaxing until he felt a sharp pain in his shoulders. His muscles being in overdrive, plus his less than desirable posture, mixed with his old chair made for an unpleasant combination, as his muscles tensed and knotted. They could stand long hours...it was when he stopped that the problem arose.
Pressure was felt in his arms with evert little move, as pain shot up and down from his shoulders, as tension made itself known. He stood up and headed downstairs. He reached the landing and reached for the cabinet to see if he had any painkillers, when the pain shot through his shoulders from needing to reach up to check. The pain resulted in a sharp exclamation from his mouth.
"Are you alright?" a voice behind him asked. It was Evelin, of course.
"K-Kinda, ow...just a little sore..." he tried to smile as best he could.
Evelin skeptically stared at him, noting his odd shoulder position.
"I thought I told you to take care of yourself. That includes breaks" she shook her head.
"Uh, yeah...you know me. When I get into it, I don't notice anything else, h-heh..."
Evelin let out a sigh. This guy was hopeless sometimes. If she didn't keep an eye on him, sometimes he'd go too far. But she at least acknowledged it wasn't on purpose. Work was work, and he enjoyed what he did. But breaks are still a necessity. That conversation would have to wait however. Right now, he needed her help.
She moved to the couch and sat down, moving her legs to allows room.
"Come here"
"U-Uh...for what?"
"A massage"
"You don't have to. I was...about to take some painkillers"
"And endure another hour?"
Eli sighed. Once again, she made up her mind.
"Exactly. Now come"
He sat in between her legs, with his back to her. Carefully, she ran her hands up and down his shoulders. She'd never done this before...but it was the best solution.
"Does that help?" she inquired, stilling lightly touching the area, as to not agitate any further if she didn't have to.
"Y-Yeah...a little"
She nodded, and proceeded to knead and rub a little harder, making sure her movements were fluid and consistent. She wasn't sure about any sort of technique, but if it was working was all that mattered.
Eli already felt his muscles start to relax as her soft hands gripped and caressed his muscles with such care and attention. Slowly, the tension started to melt away, like ironing our folds and creases.
"Is that any better?"
"Oh god, yes...you're amazing at this..." his voice in turn relaxed, unable to hide the euphoria being experienced.
She kneaded and molded, as if she was using clay. After a few more minutes of this, she stopped.
"Is that better, or should I continue?"
"Wow...that's...much better" he moved and rotated his shoulders about. In fact, his joints felt so relaxed, his range of motion felt expanded. "You're perfect for this kind of thing"
"I'm glad" she nodded. "If you ever need or want this again, just ask. I'll gladly agree"
"I'll keep that in mind"
'I should overwork more often' Eli jokingly thought to himself. Not only would it help him work better, but her massage skills would be incentive.
A natural born master. Then again, her knowing practically his body inside and out must have been a huge advantage.

Fandom: Hypnosis Mic
Series: Old Wounds
Characters: Eli, Ann mentioned (@nimue-hidden-lake), Ole (@nimue-hidden-lake)
Ann and Ole came in through the door, finally having returned after a long day. They removed their shoes, as was the rules laid out by Eli. 'Wipe your feet and take off your shoes before coming in'. Simple rules. He was never one to ask much of anyone, just that the bare minimum be shown. They tried to do as much as they could to help out. Despite what he might say or think, he was a generous host.
"We're back!" they announced, as Ole made his way to his spot, the couch.
'Odd' they thought to themselves. 'He's usually cooking by now'.
"Heya sis" they heard suddenly from the table, making them jump.
"A-Ah! D-Don't sneak up on me like that" they huffed, thinking it was one of his pranks.
"Sorry. Didn't mean to scare ya..." he sounded rather melancholy.
Ann quickly noticed his tone, and shifted focus.
"Are...you ok...?"
"Could be better...and I know I usually say that but I mean it this time"
The air felt heavy, as Eli toyed with his mic in his hand, resisting the urge to throw it as far as he could. Ann stopped themselves from inquiring further. If he was gonna talk, it should be on his terms.
Eli took a deep breath, and pulled out a chair for them. They sat across from him, as Ole's ears perked up, listening from his spot.
"You're not stupid, so I'll cut to the chase. You probably figured out by now that I lied. About the 'not making it as a performer' thing, right?" he folded his arms.
"Well, yeah. It didn't make sense. Once Ole brought out the mic, it kinda went from there"
Eli nodded his head and sighed. His hunch was right. Of course it was. You'd have to be stupid not to see something.
"Well, it's better you find out from me than the rumor mill so I figured it was time" he shook his head and took another deep breath.
Ann gave him their full attention.
"I was a performer. A rapper, as you know, obviously. But I was more than just a rapper...at least to the public" he looked down at his mic again. "After some people witnessed a few of my solo acts, we decided to band together" he stood up and paced as he talked.
"We got scooped up by some officials, and that's when they became my first crew..." he smiled weakly. A mixture of both nostalgia and pain as he recalled that time.
Ole and Ann listened.
"Makes sense you were in a crew before us. But...what happened...?" they cautiously asked. Eli's grip on his mic tightened for a moment.
"After that, we made a name for ourselves. The Roundtable... We were the Squire...the Jester...the Warrior..." he stopped for a moment and held up his mic. "And the Knight..."
Ann's eyes widened for a moment. They knew he was a rapper, but...
"You're...the Knight...?"
"Yeah. Couldn't tell could ya? H-heh..." he flashed a fake smile and continued. "We did alot of gigs. It went better then we thought at first. People loved us more than we expected. We got alot of fans, and all kinds of people showed up to see us do our thing" he closed his eyes, remembering the crowds of people, all cheering and hyped to see the group perform.
"I remember. You guys were the fastest rising group on the charts at the time. Everyone heard about you guys. Especially you" they were going to continue, but stopped when noticing him grimace. "O-Oh, sorry...now's not the time..."
"No no, it's fine. It was a pretty good time. I had some of the most fun I've ever had in my life" he sighs. "But things were going too well, I guess. Nothing built, lasts forever"
"Your retirement..." they chimed in, putting the pieces together.
"That's the legal word for what happened, I guess..."
"What really happened...?"
The room went silent for a moment...
"When we hit our peak, the higherups brought up some 'reviews' and concerns. They weren't too pleased with how I was running things. They wanted something to change. They made alot of demands. Mostly to be a more 'by the book' kinda group. Apparently, our music attracted and encouraged 'undesirable behavior' in our fans"
"And..."
"I told them to swallow it. I doubled down. I wasn't about to be told how we should do things" he folded his arms. "But...things went from bad to worse when we were called to a meeting. They made one last demand: 'Either you follow our advice, or you leave'. Same old I thought at the time. I assumed my crewmates would have had my back but..."
He paused a moment, sitting back down across from Ann. He took yet another deep breath before continuing.
"They wanted to conform with the 'new rules'. I disputed the change, as I always did. And that's when the arguing started..."
"With the group?" Ann nodded in thought.
"Nope...just one. The Warrior...Kazuki Unagi. Me and him never really got along. I never did find out what his problem was but he always started arguments with me, and talked behind my back...at a point it only got worse. Sometimes the others had to step in before things got too heated, but we usually put aside our beef for the better of the group. But not this time..."
His face contorted with guilt, as he remembered that night. The words they exchanged...the verbal blows they exchanged.
"This time there was no stopping us...things got heated fast. Some things were said that...I can never take back. He provoked me with my parents, so I brought up how if it weren't for me, no one would have known he even existed...that he was my #2 for a reason...I called him a dog..."
Ann kept nodding along, though in their mind they were shocked. What he was describing as his past self...it was so different to the Eli they had gotten to know. As short as their time together has been so far, they'd have never had guessed any of what he was telling them.
"We went back and forth, until I had enough...a fight broke out...I don't remember most of what happened. All I remember is finally agreeing to quit. 'If you think you're better off without me, then fine' I shouted. The next day, the dispute was disguised as a simple retirement. Nobody but us would know what happened that night...but I haven't forgotten..."
Eli laid his head in his hands, barely able to recall the verbal blows turning physical with Kazuki.
"For years I wondered...if things had been better had I just listened and kept my temper in check...if I hadn't run my mouth... Kazuki always said he could run the group better than I ever could...maybe he was right, I'll never know... Ever since, I vowed to never sing or pick up my mic again...but of course, you know how that turned out..." he looked over at Ole.
The cat stared blankly, as Ann processed all this information. They expected answers, but not to this extent. Eli broke the silence as he stood up finally.
"I...I think I'll clock in early tonight..." as he made his way to his room, before closing the door.
Ann sat, thinking to themselves. This was alot to digest.

Track 2 - No More Running
Tumblr media
Fandom: Hypnosis Mic
Series: Old Wounds
Characters: Eli, Ann mentioned (@nimue-hidden-lake), Ole mentioned (@nimue-hidden-lake)
CW: Mentions of smoking
The door swung open as Eli returned from his work shift for that day. It was honest work and he didn’t hate it, but it could get exhausting on the busy days when he had to fire on all cylinders. On the busiest of days, the humble little soup kitchen looked like a five star restaurant, at least in terms of activity. Cooking, handing out meals, and washing dishes, all in preparation to keep things going as smoothly as possible.
Safe to say, the young man was tired, and all he wanted was to relax after the day he just had.
“I’m back…” he declared, in a raised yet tired voice.
No response. Ann must’ve been off somewhere, and the cat…who knew sometimes. Ole tended to just up and vanish when he felt like it.
Eli stopped questioning it the third or fourth time. They’d both be back by dinner time, he knew that. He threw his jacket on the couch, and laid himself lazily on it’s arm. With the cat nowhere to be seen for the time being, the couch was all his for now.
He lay for undoubtedly a long time, trying to relax and rejuvenate as best he could. Maybe he pushed himself a little too hard today…he’d hear it from Ann whenever they would return. He could almost hear their exact tone, and see their facial expression.
Their voice ejecting harsh, yet caring, concern, as their face would be contorted into a pout. All the while Ole would paw his leg, as if joining in the scolding.
All he could do until then was try and relax.
Yet all he could think about was the ways things have changed so fast the last while. How he got roped into this whole vigilante thing.
He didn’t regret helping or meeting Ann and Ole, far from it. Those two were the only ones in a long time that gave him any sense of comfort or hope, as fleeting as it is.
But ever since that cat brought out his old mic, it brought to the forefront a past he was trying to run from. Just when he was starting to think he could finally move on, the cat just had to bring it out for all to see. Which of course dug up ‘the incident’...
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a cigarette, lit one, and started huffing.
“There’s no point hiding anymore…she’s not dumb…” he said to himself in between a puff of gray.
Ann must suspect something. He told them explicitly he never made it as a performer…yet the fact he has a mic directly contradicts that.
Trying to keep up the act or just plain ignoring it would be not only pointless, but also insulting to their intelligence. It was obvious something wasn’t adding up with him by now.
And given how odd they’ve been acting lately, with the staring and seemingly lost in thought, it’s clear the gears have been turning in their head.
“Fuck’s sake…” he mumbled again to himself, gritting his teeth.
Annoyed, was putting it lightly. Having to not only relive the events that lead him to this point, but also talk about it…he’s been avoiding doing just that for the last few years or so! But now he was going to be forced to.
But…even worse…to open up and reveal who he is- no… Who he was…
It was going to feel like opening a scar, and letting the truth bleed out. And whether he liked it or not, he felt like soon he would have to face all he hoped to avoid, and forget.
He sighed as he put out his cigarette on the table and laid back, staring at the ceiling.
“Man…this is gonna suck…” he said with a half hearted chuckle...

Track 1 - Questions
Tumblr media
Fandom: Hypnosis Mic
Series: Old Wounds
Characters: Eli, Ann (@nimue-hidden-lake), Ole mentioned (@nimue-hidden-lake)
The smell of food hung heavy in the air as dinner was being prepared that night. A simple aroma it should have been, but the hands that were making it were the hands of a master. At least that’s what Ann and several others seemed to think.
Yet their thoughts weren’t on food. Instead their gaze and mind almost seemed transfixed on the cook himself. Normally they wouldn’t catch themselves staring at…well, anyone. But something was bothering them… All they could do was stare, and try to-
“You’re doing it again.” Eli’s voice shook them back to reality.
“H-Hm? O-Oh, am I?” They replied a little delayed, almost embarrassed.
“You’ve been acting weird. What’s your deal sis?” He asked bluntly, not turning around from the stove.
They were acting weird? If anything he’s been the one acting strange! Ever since Ole brought out his old mic, they couldn’t help but wonder about his odd reaction… Come to think of it…they hardly know anything about Eli in general. Other than he evidently was a rapper at some point despite him saying he never made it as a performer, that he worked at a soup kitchen, and his cooking was amazing. But… Nothing beyond that. And yet he practically knows their whole past.
Yet it almost seems like he’s avoided ever bringing it up…
Something was amiss here.
“Nothing! Just…thinking about something is all.”
“Oh yeah…? About what if you don’t mind me askin’?”
“W-Well…I’m still trying to figure that out myself…”
How safe would it be to ask him right out the gate? After how hectic things have been as of late, and how he responded to the sight of his old mic again…who knows if it’d set him off again. In the short time they’ve known him…Eli’s not one you want to make upset.
“If you’re looking for dating advice, you got the wrong dude sis.” With a hint of a chuckle.
“E-Eh?! N-No, that’s not it-” They were about to defend themselves.
“That’s a joke lass.” He quipped as he placed a steamy plate of food in front of them.
“V-Very funny…” They said as they relaxed back into their seat.
They collected their thoughts as Eli placed a plate onto the ground for their leader, Ole, who wordlessly lapped up his share, as a cat would.
“What even is this? I’ve never seen it before.” They asked as they retired their thoughts and examined the meal presented in front of them.
“Something I saw on TV last night. Something French I think. Thought I’d give it a try.” Eli said with a nervous chuckle as he sat down.
They nodded and started to dig in, resting their mind for now.
But one way or another, they would get an answer.

Lying
Tumblr media
Characters: Eli, Evelin (@nimue-hidden-lake)
Series: Evelin Anniversary
These prompts have been on the shorter side for the last few days. But I hope the quality is decent at least. I also find myself thinking very hard for Evelin's dialogue and reactions, as this is untapped territory for me. Not just because this is something I've never written before, but also having to conjure an unknown side of her that still makes sense.
To her creator, I just hope she's still accurate on my end.
------------------------------------------------
Click clack click click
The sounds of work once again filled the room as Eli was hunched over his work. More clients, more editing. The cycle never stopped. Clicking, sliding, reviewing, and listening. For multiple hours. The longest and most demanding projects were the reviews and documentaries. Audio had to be synced, but before anything it had to be cut down to exclude any mistakes. And the sheer length ensured it would take even longer to process and render.
Not to mention he had to submit previews to check that everything was as the client wanted. And sometimes he had to restart due to dissatisfaction. He enjoyed making and editing videos, but it was very time consuming.
His work was interrupted when the sound he was ignoring finally became too loud to disregard. His stomach.
"Guh, fine...if it'll keep you quiet" he mumbled to himself as he poked his empty belly.
He finished up an edit and made his way downstairs.
Upon reaching the landing, he was about to head into the kitchen when-
"Good afternoon"
He turned around and was met with Evelin, just getting done from feeding Pinro.
"Afternoon...?" he looked confused.
"Yes" she pointed to the clock. 1PM.
"O-Oh, right. Uh...I lost track of time" he nervously shrugged as his stomach rumbled again.
"Did you even eat yet today?"
"U-Uh, of course! Was...just about to get lunch!"
Evelin stared at him skeptically. He was a terrible liar...yet he tried anyway.
"Really?" she stepped closer.
"Y-Yeah!" he took a step back.
She wasn't convinced. Why did he even try? Who could say. Not even he knew exactly. The outcome was always the same, yet he persisted.
"Do you want to try again?" she said as she took a few steps closer.
He felt his back press against the wall as there wasn't much room to go anywhere else. And even then, she'd just catch or chase him. It was just one meal, it wasn't that big of a deal, right?
"I-I didn't miss breakfast, honest!" he was sweating.
"You don't sound very convincing" as she pressed herself against him. Nowhere to go. "This doesn't need to be difficult"
"A-Alright alright, I...might have forgot breakfast. It was just one meal though!" he finally gave in.
"There..." she backed up.
He sighed with relief. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad after all.
"But now you need to be punished" she added stoically.
He thought too soon.
"P-Punished?"
"Yes" she nodded. "You lied, and skipped a meal. That makes me very angry" she may say, but kept her stoic expression and voice. Was she really? Whose to say. Maybe it was a blend of making sure he took care of himself, and also taking the chance to mess with him. It was one of her favorite things to do after all. His reactions were priceless to her.
"I just got distracted from my work! I'll...try and remember for next time" he tried to reason, as usual. There was no reasoning with her. She made up her mind already.
"I'm sure. But that can wait for after"
"A-After? B-But...I still got work to do!"
"But you'd love it"
He looked to the side as she called him out. Part of the reason he'd sometimes get into 'trouble'. But she had no complaints.
Before anything else could be said, she lead him into the kitchen to make sure he was fed, before taking 'disciplinary' action.
Eli forgot all about his editing for that day.

Falling Asleep
Tumblr media
Characters: Eli, Evelin (@nimue-hidden-lake)
Series: Evelin Anniversary
The sun had long since set, and the night was nigh. A clear sky full of stars, over the lights of town presented a very relaxing atmosphere, and a rare sight. Normally, the light pollution of the city drowned them out, but on rare occasions, they were able to shine alongside them.
Eli sat by the window and reflected again...when he was alone, and couldn't sleep, his mind wandered alot. And his memory was brought back to one of his and Evelin's earliest conversations.
'But...why...?' 'In time, you'll figure that out for yourself'
It's been six years, and he was still at a loss... Off and on he'd been wrestling with the question since then. Why did she say 'yes'? The question was raised every so often in his mind. The most recent time was a comment from Eve a few weeks ago.
'You're awfully special to her. You're the first and only guy who she didn't immediately reject'
So one question was answered. His hunch was right that his classmates just wanted to see him get embarrassed and rejected by her. But he still had the other question...'why'...? What was so special about him?
He sighed and figured he should try and get some sleep. It was late, and he had a project to tackle the next day. So he headed up the stairs, and down the hall...but stopped short of his room when passing by Evelin's. The door was open.
He quietly tiptoed inside and saw her, peacefully asleep in her bed.
He sat on her bedside, and brushed a few hairs aside, softly caressing her cheek. He felt them warm up slightly as she smiled in her sleep.
What did he do to deserve someone so beautiful and perfect?
He sighed, and kissed her cheek as gently as he could, as to not wake her up.
"I love you..." he whispered, hushed, yet sweet.
He was about to get up when he felt something latch onto his wrist, before pulling him down faster than he could think. She had pulled him under the covers, softly cradling his head to her chest.
"...love...you too..." she said sleepily.
There wasn't any escape now. Lest he wake her up. But she looked so peaceful, especially as she held him close, that he couldn't bring himself to. He simply got comfy, and closed his eyes. Her warmth and scent lulling him to a gentle sleep.
'Why?'
Those questions could wait for another time.

Valentines Day
Tumblr media
Characters: Eli, Evelin (@nimue-hidden-lake)
Series: Evelin Anniversary
Today was the day. February 14th. Valentines Day.
The sun shone through the windows, as the forecast foretold a clear day. Quite a beautiful one too at that. It was somewhat rare to see the sun shine after a fresh snow. The frozen crystals sparkled like millions of tiny diamonds. Perfect for today.
The air was filled with the aroma of various ingredients, as the kitchen was filled with sounds of cooking. Sizzling and clattering galore, as Eli made certain to prepare everything as best he could.
He'd cooked and cut the bacon, shredded the cheese, readied the spices, and was in the process of cooking the eggs. A recipe he used to cook for his family. Now he decided to share it with her.
But as his thoughts were brought back to her, he thought back. This was their 6th Valentines that they would spend together. And in another two weeks, officially 6 years since things got serious between them. He found it amazing how much had changed since then. Since they met under that canopy one autumn afternoon, to asking her out on a whim on this very day. Their anniversary was still a few weeks ahead, but that bridge would be crossed when the time came. Now, he had to focus on today, and not a day after.
After sprinkling the spices, cheese, and bacon onto the semi-cooked egg, he then folded it closed. He was making a sort of omelet.
"I hope I still got it..." he mumbled to himself as he flipped it over to cook the other side.
After a few more flips, it was done. A crisp, yet soft golden yellow. Perfection.
He sighed with a smile and put a knife and fork on the plate, and made his way to the table, where Evelin was patiently waiting, patting Pinro on her lap.
"Hope I didn't keep you waiting too long" he nervously chuckled.
"Not at all. Pinro kept me company" she scratched gently behind the cat's ears, resulting in a purr.
He put the plate in front of her, and she examined it with her eyes and her nose, before taking her fork and trying a bite.
"Something I'd make for my family on special occasions. An omelet, with bacon, cheese, and spices. Not too special, but my family seemed to really like how I made them. I only hope it's the same quality for you"
She savored the taste in her mouth a moment or two before swallowing.
"It's perfect. I can see why they liked it so much" she nodded.
"Glad you like it. I took extra care to get it right" he smiled.
She raised the fork and put her hand under it.
"Uh...what are you doing...?"
"I don't see a plate for you" she persisted.
"O-Oh, I woke up early, so I already ate. Besides, it's yours" he tried to reason.
She still held the fork up, staring with her usual stare. Eli knew it was fruitless, so he opened his mouth, which she then placed the fork into his mouth.
"There, was that so hard?" she tilted her head.
Breakfast went by, and after Eli insisted on putting her dish in the sink, Evelin pulled out the bag she bought yesterday. It was decently small, and a box could be seen inside, though the barely see through bag obscured any discernable detail. She then pulled out the box.
"Pocky?" he asked.
She nodded, and opened the box, placing one in her mouth, and leaning forward. She wasn't implying...was she?
A Pocky game? Well...it made sense, after thinking about it.
After a bit of hesitation, he took the other end of the chocolate biscuit in his mouth, staring directly into her eyes. She stared for awhile, before biting a little closer. Eli followed suit, biting a little closer than she did. He had to try and keep up, didn't he?
Undeterred, she bit closer again. Since when was Pocky so intense? Perhaps it was all in his head, but the fact she kept staring as she got closer didn't help things. He bit closer again.
As she took another bite, she closed her eyes, the two only being inches away. Eli bit as close as he could. As much as he was tempted to break it off, he refused. He wouldn't submit. He-
His thought was interrupted as she closed the gap, consuming the rest of the stick with a kiss. Eli's eyes widened as they held the position. His face flushed red, and his legs wobbled. He'd kissed her before, but no matter how much time passed, he always responded the same way. Was it because he enjoyed it? Was there some kind of spell behind it? He couldn't even ponder the possibilities as his mind raced before they finally separated.
"Happy Valentines Eli" she said with a small smile.
"H-Happy Valentines" he meekly replied, still recovering from the kiss.
She took another stick.
"Shall we continue?"
"C-Continue...?"
"Yes. There's still the rest of the box we have to eat, and I can't eat it all alone" an obvious lie. An excuse to keep going.
"A-Alright" Eli didn't seem to mind though.
He lost the rest of the rounds too. But given the kind of game this this...was that such a bad thing?

Going Out
Tumblr media
Characters: Eli, Evelin (@nimue-hidden-lake)
Series: Evelin Anniversary
This one's a bit shorter. Basically just to set up the Valentines Day prompt. So, nothing much here today.
-----------------------------------
The time was nigh. Tomorrow was the day. The pair headed out together to make a few preparations for the coming day. Valentines Day.
A day that may have been insignificant to them both some time in the past, but now became regular for them too.
It was no secret, so neither treated it as such. The only surprise was what either had planned for the coming day. Neither were the type to plan big, but they always tried to ensure the best they could for the other. And so they headed to the mall. Even if someone wasn't sure what they needed or wanted, they could come across something.
Candy stores, flower shops, grocery stores, toy and video game shops, clothing departments, and booths of all kinds. Something for everyone, of all ages.
The two parted ways to pull together some sort of idea or plan for the next day.
Money was of no concern, sales ran rampant.
Eli combed through various stores, trying to see what he could do. It didn't need to be grandiose, but he wanted to do something for her. Anything. He wasn't too sure what she had in store, but knowing her, it wouldn't take long. So he had to be fast.
He then had an idea when passing by the grocery market.
"Yeah...that's an idea..." he mumbled to himself as he walked in.
A few minutes later, and he emerged with a few ingredients. Eggs, some spices, bacon, and ketchup. All neatly and carefully packed in a bag. He soon was met with Evelin, having already found her part. It seemed of similar proportions to his idea.
"I have what I need. How about you?"
"Yeah. Took me a bit, but I'm done"
The two were an odd pairing, for sure. At least, most considered them odd. Especially when surrounded by other couples. Their dynamic was unconventional. Where as couples around them had prepared elaborate and big ideas and plans, the two of them were relatively simple by comparison. Maybe one of them would love to spoil the other if they had the money and means, but it wasn't necessary. It's been obvious for over half a decade how they felt about each other. There was no need to prove, or make a show of anything.
It was something the two of them understood, and that was good enough.

Dress Up
Tumblr media
Characters: Eli, Evelin (@nimue-hidden-lake)
Series: Evelin Anniversary
Ok so wow, I wasn't able to get yesterday's prompt done in time, so here it is. Today's prompt will be done later.
--------------------------------------------
Eli slowly worked tirelessly to finish the remainder of his secret project. It was something that was in the works for months now, and now the end was finally in sight. He'd always adored outfits and costumes since he was a child, but never did he think he'd make one himself. But things were different now.
Months of slow sure progress, one step every few weeks where possible. All that was left were the finishing touches. His mother's teachings had come full circle with each seam and hem.
It was far from easy, and there were moments he had to redo or restart completely, but the final result would be worth it.
After finishing one final step, he took a step back, and held up his reference...one of Evelin's books. He had made a costume of one of her favorite characters, from one of her favorite books.
The outfit was complete. A bodysuit decorated with shiny stitching to simulate chainmail, with a chestplate and pauldrons made from painted and polished cardboard. He'd bought a pair of leather boots, and covered the tops of the feet with the same cardboard technique, and the leggings also shared this with the knee guards. The armor was painted with silver, and was hardened with a few layers of what appeared to be resin to reinforce it and give it a shiny appearance. And lastly, a long blue scarf, almost long enough to be a sort of cape. The set was complete, even if some of his methods were unconventional for cosplay and costume standards.
All that was left was to actually put it on...which proved much harder than he thought. It was a costume yes, but...he never put much thought into how he'd actually put it on.
Nonetheless he tried. The bodysuit, then the leggings before the boots. Then the chestplate, knee guards, pauldrons, and gauntlets.
He then swung the scarf over and around his neck, and the finishing touch...the cat ears, which he still possessed from the day prior.
"Wow...could be better but...not bad..." he said as he looked himself in the mirror. "I just hope she thinks so too..."
. . . Later . . .
Evelin stepped in the door, returning from a reading session at a café. She was never much for interaction, but it was perfect atmosphere for reading. She had offered Eli to join her, but he declined. Citing he had 'something to do'. She found herself wondering what he was up to. The last few weeks he'd said this off and on.
As she finished that thought she heard a noise come from upstairs.
"What's he doing now?" she asked herself as she went to investigate.
There was no reason to be worried. Even if someone had broken in, she was confident he could handle himself. She'd seen it herself after all. So it had to have been whatever it was he was working on.
She opened the door top his room, and saw her partner struggling with some kind of getup. Reaching behind and around his body, in some attempt to try and take it off it would seem.
He would struggle for a moment or two longer before incidentally turning around, and locking eyes with her.
"U-Um...you weren't supposed to find out like this..." he smirked awkwardly. "Uh...surprise?"
Evelin didn't answer. Her eyes were wide as she came to realize who he was dressed as. The main character from her books. Tales of the Neko Warrior.
He was Aoki.
"I uh...hope it's not too bad for a first time" he laughed nervously.
"Not at all. It's perfect" she said with a nod.
He embodied Aoki so well. In speech, body language, and mannerisms. He was Aoki. As if he arose straight from the pages.
"Now I resemble your favorite person, eh?" he joked.
Evelin seemed confused at this comment and tilted her head.
"Favorite person...?"
"Well, yeah. I mean, you have his merchandise, you buy all his books, and you were even excited when it was announced the books were getting adapted into an anime this coming summer"
She now understood what he meant.
"Ah, no. While I do love the books, and Aoki's character...there's a specific reason for that" she said picking up one of said books from the dresser.
"I...uh...ya lost me..." Eli replied, confused.
"He reminds me of you" she held up a panel from the book, which showed a familiar type of scenario. Then the page after that...and the page after that. All reminiscent of Eli's behaviors and rational.
"I-I...y-you sure?"
She nodded, closing the book.
"Heh...well...I guess I spent all these weeks for nothing huh?" he said with a halfhearted grin.
"I didn't say that. It's very well made" she said with small smile as she hugged him. "But the real thing is better"
Eli felt his heart skip a beat or two as he returned the hug. It was a strange feeling. But...to hear he meant that much...it struck a deep cord with him. He didn't need to be an accomplished warrior, or posses a magical blade blessed by the moon's rays. He was Eli, and that was more than enough.
For awhile they sat there until-
"Not to ruin the moment or anything but...th-this is kinda stuffy...and I...can't take it off..." he smirked awkwardly.
Evelin chuckled as she helped him slowly remove each piece.
"H-Hey, uh...you really meant what you said...?"
"Of course Eli...or should I say...Ao-ki"

Cat Ears
Tumblr media
Characters: Eli, Evelin (@nimue-hidden-lake)
Series: Evelin Anniversary
Evelin sat in her room, Pinro asleep at the foot of her bed. She examined a headband in her grasp. A pair of cat ears. She placed them on her head and posed her hands like paws in a small mirror.
"Nya"
She said quietly. They were cute for certain. They were cat ears after all, the holiest of god's creations. At least that's what the raven haired girl thought and prophetically proclaimed. But they looked...off on her, she thought to herself.
Eve would be too embarrassed to wear such a garment. It was too big for Fuko. She was left with one option. And so she went to find her target.
. . .
He sat laid back on the couch, music filling his ears. His head hung over the armrest, bobbing to the beat as he tapped his foot.
It was a perfect relaxation day. He'd been like this for hours now. Sundown on a snowy evening, sat by the open curtains with a view of town and her lights signaling to the newborn night sky.
His session was interrupted by footsteps on the landing.
"Heya" Eli greeted, still bobbing to his music, taking one headphone off to hear both the music and his girlfriend. "Come to see sundown with me?" he proposed, moving his legs so she could sit.
"Not exactly. But it is a nice addition" she sat down with a nod.
For a moment they sat, enjoying the view. Until Eli noticed the headband in her hand.
"Whatcha got there?" he titled his head.
"A headband I got sometime ago. Only..." she paused, looking at Eli now.
"Only...what...?"
She held up the headband with a small glint in her eyes.
"H-Hey, I wouldn't-" he was about to protest, until seeing the look in her eyes. He took a deep breath and sighed. "Fine...only for a moment..." he relented and bowed his head.
Evelin placed the ears on his head, and after a minor adjustment, took her hands away.
"W-Well...?" he asked, looking to the side as his face slowly turned red from embarrassment.
She didn't answer, instead patting his head softly, like she would a normal cat. Smiling warmly as she did so. Eli closed his eyes, enjoying the soft feeling of her hand on his head, as she even ran her fingers through his hair. Anyone else would have found this strange, or even diminishing. But to Eli it felt...right.
"Cute~" she almost hummed, thoroughly enjoying this moment.
"A-Are you done...?" he asked, still a touch red.
"No. There's one last thing"
"And that would be...?"
He saw her pose her hands like paws.
"Nya"
Eli's mouth twisted with uncertainty. He'd never done something like this before. Being patted was one thing, something he was well accustomed to. But this was something else.
"N...N-N...Nya..." he feebly uttered, his face getting redder.
"No...nya" she said again, with more conviction.
"N-Nya..." he uttered again, slightly louder this time.
"Almost...nya"
He took a deep breath again, and posed his hands like hers, and one final time-
"Nya" he said clearly, though now more flushed than ever.
"Very good" she said as he saw her eyes sparkle a little as she patted him again with a small smile.
"A-Are you finished? I don't want you getting any ideas..." he huffed.
"Like what...? A collar? I might have one somewhere..." she said thoughtfully.
"Y-You can't be serious..."
"Who knows? Just enjoy this moment" she assured, still patting. "There there~"
Oi, this girl sometimes...

Motivation
Tumblr media
Characters: Eli, Evelin (@nimue-hidden-lake)
Series: Evelin Anniversary
It wasn't looking possible. He'd been there for hours at this point, staring at the same screen for what seemed like hundreds of times. It didn't help that he was getting annoyed with each passing minute. This was beyond tedious...
What's going on? A boss. A roadblock. An obstacle. Eli was stuck on a game.
"What's going on?" Evelin asked ,peering in from the door, hearing his exasperated moans and groans for the last while now.
"Nothing...just this this annoying thing..." he pointed to the screen, where text that read 'try again' was present, with some kind of large insect-like creature behind it.
"You're having trouble?" she asked.
"Yeah...I hate bosses like these. Not only does it summon help, but the help it gets splits into more of them!"
He sat back on the bed, looking as if he was ready to give up. Evelin looked at the screen, than back at Eli, and thought for a moment.
"I'll be right back" was all she said before briskly leaving.
Eli was too tired and annoyed to question her motives. Instead, he retried again, his team readying to face the boss for the 100th time. The music started, and the meter filled up.
Standing before his team was a giant blue beetle looking monster, before it split off into smaller beetles. The little ones were tanky and hurt enough on their own, nevermind the headache the big one was capable of.
However shortly after the battle begin, Eli's attention was brought to the door as Evelin returned...wearing a cheerleader costume, pom-poms and all.
"Since when did you have that?!" he asked, wide eyes of disbelief.
"Since I've been waiting for an excuse to use it"
"And that would be...?"
"Two years ago" she simply answered. "You don't like it?"
"I-I didn't say that..." he said, averting his eyes with a red tint appearing on his cheeks.
"Good. Now...go go!" she said, waving her arms in the air with her pom-poms and doing a small dance.
"W-What are you doing?" he looked confused.
"Motivating. Go go! Fight-o!" she continued to dance and cheer.
Eli already found her stoic charm to be powerful enough as is, but now...it was at it's strongest.
A smirk started to form on his face. Never did he ever expect to see this. But it was working. He felt his grip on the controller tighten and he turned back to the screen.
Both the music, and Evelin's cheers worked wonders, giving him newfound strength.
So he tried one last time. Each turn whittling down the insect's health little by little, while trying his best to ensure his team's survival.
But even with Evelin's cheering, his team slowly started failing.
One teammate down...the boss was only at 80% health...
He kept going...his tank and support were still in the fight. This was doable still. As long as he kept up the pressure, and hope RNG was on his side...
Two teammates...the boss was at 40%...
Only his tank and support were left...that was fine...everything was fine...
Three...20%...
His support was down...only his tank was left...he's been here before, countless times. He was so close, but so was his tank's HP. Evelin continued dancing and cheering.
"One, two! Go go! Fight-o fight-o!"
Eli was sweating now...20%...he could do this. All he had to do was not make any mistakes and- Eli's heart sank as he saw the boss charge it's heavy hitter sooner than expected and then...his tank went down...
Eli let out a heavy sigh, as Evelin stopped dancing for a moment before-
"I'm still needed..." was heard from the TV. His tank had activated his passive skill, letting him fight on despite being reduced to 0%.
"That's right...I never got this far last time...this is possible!" he said, taking the controller again.
"Fight-o! Fight-o!" Evelin continued to chant again.
And with one last turn...
Battle Finished!
The music faded out as the bug let out one large scream before disappearing. Eli had finally won.
"We did it!" he said relieved and excited it was finally over. Impulsively he hugged his girlfriend, despite her sweat. She hugged back, still wearing her pom-poms on her hands. "All thanks to you."
Evelin nodded, all too happy she could assist. Plus, it was a win-win. Eli finally got passed a difficult boss, and she finally got to use this costume for it's intended purpose.
"Hey, uh...you don't intend to wear that all the time do you...?" he asked after calming down.
"Maybe...whose to say?" she shrugged.
Full of surprises as always...

Surprise Gifts
Tumblr media
Characters: Eli, Evelin (@nimue-hidden-lake)
Series: Evelin Anniversary
Eli was working once again, early one morning. Freelance editing always ensured he could make money on the side. Plus, he enjoyed doing it. It helped that many of his clients put the good word in to those in their circle, meaning he had a steady flow.
Some even wondered why he didn't utilize his talents for himself, and he couldn't exactly give an answer. He might be able to make it big one day with a channel of his own, but he was content doing what he loved, and getting paid for it.
Clicking and sliding, his work was interrupted by a knock.
"The doc's in" he said, his usual response.
Evelin walked in, carrying something behind her back, though Eli had yet to see.
"Have you eaten yet today?" she asked, looking at his screen.
"Mhm. Before I even started" he said with a smile, pointing to the dirty plate next to him.
"That's good" she nodded.
Finishing up an edit, he took off his headset and turned to face her.
"What's up? Something you need me for?" he'd ask, stretching.
"You might say that"
Finally taking notice of the box behind her, he tilted his head, before smiling again.
"Oh, your package came in. What'd you get?"
"It's not for me" she answered, pulling it out and handing it to him.
He stared at the box in his lap, unable to tell what it could possibly be, other than the somewhat small box it was packaged in.
"W-Wait, what's the occasion?"
She only shrugged lightly, staring, seemingly eagerly. To some it might look like her usual stare, but there was a slight intensity to it. Taking that as a hint to stop asking questions, he opened the box.
Aside from the parchment paper protecting and holding it in place, he saw something. A blue device, no bigger than a phone possibly. Emblazoned with a red symbol on the front.
"Th-This is...no..."
Eli took the device in his hands and examined it. It was in great condition. A merchandise relic from his favorite game.
"A...PET...? he asked, wide eyed.
She nodded.
"B-But this had to have been expensive. These go for like, hundreds!" he sounded worried, concerned at how much she must've spent on it.
"I found a post from a mom cleaning out her children's old toys online. She sold it for cheap"
"In this good of condition?" still wide eyed.
She nodded again.
"I dunno what to say...thanks Evelin" he put the PET down and hugged her.
"No problem" with a slight smile as she hugged back.
A real PET. Something he's wanted since childhood! But...even though she said she got it for cheap, he still felt guilty. He never was good with gifts, not receiving them anyways.
Later, he thought to himself (after thoroughly playing with the PET of course). What could he do...? He had some money set aside, but he didn't have the foggiest clue what to repay her with. So, he went searching. Hours went by, until he found it. A local book store had just what he needed.
He just had to hope they still had what he was looking for.
. . . Later . . .
Evelin was sat by Pinro's dish, petting the cat as she ate her food, purring all the while with each stroke.
"Hey, uh...hope I'm not interrupting" he said with a wave.
"Not at all" she said, looking up while still petting Pinro.
"So, I really appreciate what you got me. The best present I've ever received" he said with a warm smile. "And no rules say I have to but...y'know, I'm no good at this, so just take a look" as he handed her the bag.
She examined the bag, before reaching in and pulling out a book. It looked to be a manga of some sort. It showed a knight with cat ears, holding a glowing turquoise blade, accompanied by a spirit manifesting from said sword. He was about to face off against a giant black dragon, surrounded by flames of darkness. The cover read:
Tales of the Neko Warrior - Vol.6
Her expression changed ever so slightly, her eyes sparkled with excitement as she took in the sight of her favorite book series.
"I was saving up money to get the PET. But since you got it for me ahead of time, and the most recent volume's translation just releasing, I figured why not?" he said with a smile.
Wordlessly she hugged him, and he swore, if she was a cat, he might've heard her purring. He chuckled and hugged back.
"You like it I take?"
"Yes...thank you" she said, not letting go.

Weak Spots
Tumblr media
Characters: Eli, Evelin (@nimue-hidden-lake)
Series: Evelin Anniversary
Note: While not explicit, there is some mild teasing depicted. Specifically involving the lips, neck, and ears.
------------------------------------
How did he end up here? On the floor, his back up against the wall, cornered like a rat, staring up at who was bearing down on him, with her ever unchanging expression.
"H-Hey, what's gotten into you?!" Eli would ask, his mind racing.
She didn't answer. Not at first anyway. She looked him up and down, observing his every little move, and his expression. His eyes wide with her sudden move and takedown. Yet his face...it was anything but shocked or displeased. She could easily tell. A shade of red was slowly creeping it's way into his cheeks, like usual.
"I needed confirmation" she said, not budging from the position she put them in, still staring.
"Confirmation? For what?!"
Again she didn't answer right away, staring with her deep violet eyes.
"I noticed you have a particular taste. What you read and listen to"
"I-I don't know what you're talking about" he tried to avert his gaze as his face grew redder.
"You didn't hide it very well. You left the tabs open...almost as if..." she paused and slowly got closer. "As if you wanted me to see~"
A shiver went up Eli's spine as she whispered tenderly into his ears. However unable to escape meant that he couldn't do much. Or so he made it seem like he couldn't escape.
He knew she was right. But ever admitting to it would be a death sentence. She already had alot of power over him as it was, he didn't need to give her any more!
"If my hunch is correct...this should elicit a response" she said as she moved her head closer to his neck, and let her breath gently run across it.
Another shiver ran up his spine and he even jolted a little. She was doing this on purpose. To scope out if what she learned from his History was true or not. Or maybe just to see how he'd react. Which one it was mattered little at the moment.
"W-Why so suddenly?" was all he could muster, trying to keep thinking straight and not give in.
"Why listen to all those audios and read all those stories...when I can do it for you?" she answered plainly as always, continuing to tease him as she spoke hushed while still close to his neck.
All he could do was wriggle as she persisted. He felt his face get warmer as he could do nothing but try and survive her assault.
He closed his eyes, hoping that if he didn't look at her it would make it easier until-
He felt her lips press lightly against his neck. The feeling lingered for a moment or two, before she pulled away. At this point it was some game to her. To see how much he could take before breaking. But he wasn't gonna let her win. He wouldn't! He echoed the statement in his mind, trying to strengthen his resolve.
He would feel the sensation again, though longer this time. The warmth and softness of her lips making him want to surrender himself to the feeling. But he couldn't! That's what she wanted! Not this time!
"Maybe I should try a different approach..." he heard her say as she moved to his ears once more.
"Nya~"
A familiar chant whispered into his ear. Last time it was an invitation...this time it was temptation. How could one word- nay, one sound, be full of so much power?! He tried to move his hands to try and block it out, but she was one step ahead, pinning his hands to his sides as she kept chanting her spell.
"Nya~"
The pressure was building, before reaching it's peak and finally-
"O-Ok ok! I can't take much more!" he shouted out as his face was beet red.
She pulled away, a light smile on her face as she chuckled at his outburst.
"Oi, are you trying to kill me...?" he said with a sigh as he shook his head.
"If you can't handle just this, how are you going to be able to survive what I have in store for you? This was a small taste" she tilted her head.
"Wait...there's more...?" he asked, wide eyed.
She only nodded, before getting off of him.
He barely survived this time...what worse could she possibly do?! Someday he knew he'd find out...and that he wouldn't win round 2.

Warming Up
Tumblr media
Characters: Eli, Evelin (@nimue-hidden-lake)
Series: Evelin Anniversary
It still hadn't warmed up from the day prior. Snow fell outside the window, and it was less than warm inside. The heating wouldn't kick in for awhile either, so there was little options available. Even layering and sweaters did little.
"Y-Yikes, it's still freezing out...and in, for that matter..." Eli shivered.
Any colder and one might see their own breath. He paced back and forth, trying to keep busy and moving to keep what little warmth he had.
"Not even the power of fuzzy socks are helping..."
He had a sudden idea. Maybe some hot chocolate would help. Assuming the water would even boil that is. Still, it would be better than nothing. So, still shivering, he made his way to the kitchen. But as he reached the landing, he passed by Evelin, sat on the couch, wrapped in her blanket.
"Still cold?" she would simply ask.
"Y-Yeah. I was about to get some hot chocolate"
The woman proceeded to open the covers and wordlessly stare at him. He looked confused, trying to discern some kind of clue. True to form however, the answer was simpler than he thought.
"I'm getting cold again" she stated.
"Ah, I can manage. It won't take long for the water to boil, really" he reasoned.
But she still stared with the covers open.
"But wouldn't it be more efficient to cuddle together under the blanket?"
"W-Well...yeah..."
"Then what are you waiting for?"
Unable to argue, he climbed into the covers with her, as she wrapped them both in the blanket. The change was immediate, as warmth rushed through them both. Assisted by the additional heat Eli's face emanated from being this close to her.
"There, don't you feel much better?"
"Yeah...very cozy" he agreed.
He felt her arms wrap themselves around him and pull him closer. He instinctively did so as well.
"Even if it warms up later on...I...wouldn't mind staying like this..." Eli admitted.
Evelin tilted her head.
"If you want to, all you have to do is ask"
"I-I know but-"
"I don't mind" she interrupted as she lightly squeezed him, emphasizing her point.
"A-Alright, I'll...keep that on mind"
She nodded, placing her head on his shoulder and closing her eyes.
"You're very comfortable" she said with a mild yawn.
"R-Really now...?" with a headtilt. "Then...if you also want to, don't hesitate to say so, alright?"
"As you wish..." she said sleepily.
"It's only fair after all" he said as he smiled with a hint of red on his cheeks, staying perfectly still as to not wake her up.
