“I mean it might make getting in and out of rides a little hard, could always just tear it off so it’s shorter.” Giving a playful wink he chuckled, knowing full well that she would probably oppose ruining such a lovely garment. Or was the garment only lovely because of the person who wore it? Smirking again as he tried to stay focused, but having her standing beside him, staring at him the way she was with a not so subtle blush spreading across her cheeks, he kept thinking about what else they could do today. The fact that he was winging this stressed him out, he didn’t like to bullshit his way through things, meticulous planning was what he was good at.
His face went a mix between shock and surprise as she looked at him so deviously, he wasn’t sure whether he was imagining it or not. No, he must have been, she was much more sensible than he was. Feeling the wall against his back all of a sudden, it was his turn to show the telltale sign of awkwardness as his cheeks had the faintest hint of pink creeping across them, growing a little darker as she took what she wanted, pleasantly surprising the hell out him. One hand immediately in her hair, pulling her deeper into the kiss, the other hand snaking around the back of her waist, pulling her up onto her toes. A small hiss parted his lips as she took a step back, he had to admit, she knew how to keep him interested, and it was infuriatingly frustrating. Standing up straighter against the wall, chest rising and falling slightly faster than normal he raised a brow at her before smirking.
“No.”
What was he thinking! He’d never said no before, so why did it feel so right to say it now. Something was definitely wrong with him, perhaps he should go to the doctors, he was starting to lose all sense. Walking around her he stood pressed against her back, hands running up the edges of her arms slowly. His head nudged the side of hers, whispering in her ear. “Trust me, I want to. But I am going to do this right.” He didn’t want any part of this to feel like another night, another girl. Not to mention he was a little worried (not that he would admit it), that she would regret being with him. He was a mess of contradictory thoughts right now.
Opening her eyes to Hayden’s suggestion, surely he had to know better than that. She knew she wasn’t the most fashionable girl around The Pier, but she certainly wasn’t bold or stupid enough - whichever one could call it - to just rip a dress like that to ride anything. Besides, that was one of the only dresses she had borught with her when she had left home, and it reminded her of her family, no matter what had gone down between them. However, she didn’t have time to answer; next thing she knew, he was responding to her kiss, his face flustered and the subtlest of pinks appearing on his cheeks. It was nice to see him out of his comfort zone at least for once, that way she knew she had taken him by surprise.
He was so into the kiss as well as she was, that when she pushed him away she liked the hiss coming from his lips, but what happened jext caught her completely by surprise. Brow raised, no doubt taken by surprise as well by her request, only one word came out of his mouth. “No.” No? What the hell? Had she heard correctly? She opened her mouth to say something, but no words came out of her mouth, leaving her there, staring at him, dumbfounded. She was talking to Hayden Dark, wasn’t she? Her mind was racing with a million thoughts, repeating what had happened not one hour before. Had she done something wrong? Did he not want her?
She was completely aware her eyes - or rather her face was showing exactly how she felt. It felt as if her stomach had a hole in it and something had dropped inside and there was a knot in her throat, she felt like crying. “No?” She muttered, more a whisper than anything audible. She wasn’t sure if he had heard, but then he was talking again, and she felt like she could breathe again. He wanted to do things right. Not sure how, or what he meant by that, she just nodded, moving closer to him and wrapping his arms around his waist. Leaning her head against his chest, she smiled, even though he couldn’t see her. “Alright, Hayden. Should we get showered - separately, of course - and changed to head out, then?”

nightwalpurgisnacht:
Fixing the cufflinks on his starch white sleeves, his head slowly rolling around to stop above his shoulder as he looked at the helpless young thing before him. “Well to keep out all the bad people.” With that he took a step forward, closing the distance with his much larger stride. “You never know with people these days.” Shrugging off the comment as though it was nothing, not some idle threat, he moved forward once again. Part of him wandered back to the thought of who would miss her, surely someone so beautiful would have people in her life, no she couldn’t be alone. He’d have to be careful.
“I didn’t say, but neither did you. I’m just looking around, I was called here because some of the rides appear to be unsafe.” Was it a lie? Not entirely, he did like that some of the rides were unsafe, he could make them fatal, but he wasn’t called so much as drawn, this place was waiting for someone like him to destroy it.
To keep out all the bad people? As far as she knew, there was no one bad around The Pier. Well, there were the “bad: guys, so to speak, who frightened everyone - that could have been Hayen once, and Mr. Hook, or so she thought so far - but that was it. No one was intentionally evil, no one could hurt anyone if they wanted to. So, she saw no need for any surveillance of any kind. Plus, she kind of felt safe, being around Hayden, even if no one knew yet what they were to each other. She knew he would keep her safe.
“I will consider it, but I don’t deem it necessary, at least not for now. I haven’t seen anything happen at The Disney Pier.” Smiling, she raised her shoulders., shrugging. “Unsafe? The rides here? No, I don’t think so.” Extending a hand towards him, she raised her brow at him, for the slightest of moments. There was something about the man before him, but she couldn’t place what. “I’m Ariel, mister...?” She said, waiting for ihm to fill his name.

Pulling her hands out of her pockets, money stuffed in one and leftover pouches of Zee stuffed in the other, she managed to not spill either of the contents onto the pier, her shoulders sagging as her exasperation at the young woman before her grew. She couldn’t have been much younger or older than herself, “Distracted and daydreaming are akin to one another.”
Taking a step around the red-haired woman she was about to keep walking on. “Excuse you? I will not apologise for something that was not my fault.” Looking the other up and down, with an obvious dip of her head, it was clear she was trying to size the young woman up. It was her last comment that caught her like a fish to a baited hook, “Oh I’m sorry princess, am I inconveniencing you?” She didn’t really care about the answer, but stirring up trouble was what she did best.
The blonde stepped around her and was now behind Ariel, and she believed everything was about to be over, when the other girl talked, again. Of course, denying what she had done and refusing to apologize. Ariel wanted to move on and continue looking around The Pier before her shift started, but naturally couldn’t as she wasn’t going to just ignore the other girl. It wasn’t in her nature.
Turning around to face her, she sighed, rolling her eyes. “Don’t own to it, then, I don’t care.” She said, clearly frustrated, passing her hand along her forehead. “And no, you’re not inconveniencing me, in the least. But I don’t want to keep on going with this conversation, which isn’t getting anyone anywhere.” Nodding her head, she sighed again. “Do you at least agree with that?”

“Who knows, could get us ahead of all the lines, some VIP treatment wouldn’t be so bad, would it?” Leaning in closer he gave her an uncharacteristically gentle kiss upon her blushing cheek, “You mean you don’t want people thinking that we stayed up … All. Night. Long?” With another cheeky smirk, he straightened up, gently grasping her hand and starting to walk them towards the door, his index finger pressed against the inside of her wrist, chuckling to himself as her heart rate began to race. Was it nerves or excitement? His brows rose as her statement gave her away, it was a bit of both. Clutching at his stomach he couldn’t help but laugh, a proper laugh that made your stomach ache after a while, turning to face her he couldn’t help but grin. “If you wanted me naked in a shower, my apartment is just upstairs love. you need only ask.”
If anyone tried to stop them from being guests, he welcomed the challenge, it would not work out for the fool that tried. “Of course it’s possible, the benefit of being me.” Running his free hand through his hair and making it look like he had attempted to put himself together this morning. He once again moved them towards the door of his office. She trusted him … what in hell made her trust him. He was probably one of the least trustworthy people on the pier. Was she hoping for too much? Shaking the doubt from his mind he opened the door for her, “today you will be the most important thing on the pier.”
As Ariel walked past him, her crimson red dress wisping around her legs as the scent of her perfume caught him staring at her, hell she looked good, regardless of her complaints about being in last nights dress. This was new unchartered territory for him, he never usually left with the girl of the night, usually it was him leaving, not even a word, this felt different, nicer even.
Clapping her hands at his comment - or something that resembled clapping, with the flowers in one hand she couldn’t do it quite right - she was ecstatic. And there was no one else she would rather be with. “Hayden, that is just amazing. I’m sure that if someone can pull it off, it’s you.” Blushing even more from his kiss, she laughed and shook her head. “Well, not really. But it is not because of that,” signaling her dress again, from top to bottom, she looked at him. “Do you really think it would be comfortable or even practical to strut around and get on rides wearing this?” As they walked to the door, he started laughing, a sound she hadn’t heard before coming from him. Not like this. She was baffled that he was laughing at his comment, especially as she was embarrassed about it, and he just kept making it worse.
She couldn’t understand his reaction, did he not want her that way anymore? A million thoughts crossed her mind and all of them ended with his rejection, just because one single comment that had come out wrong. Until he opened his mouth again, and thoughts of him naked in the shower were the only thing crossing her mind, the red in her cheeks that had almost completely faded coming back to betray her, again. Trying to move past it, again, and focusing on Hayden - clothed, as he was - she tried to listen to what he was saying next. Something about the possibility of being guests, because she was with him. An observation she had already made and knew before it was even said by either.
But there he was, opening the door for her, telling her she was going to be the most important thing on the pier that day, and it made her want him even more. She wasn’t sure where the feeling was coming from, but there was something inside of her that wasn’t going to let her be until it was satisfied. She wasn’t like that, she was able to control herself in every situation, why was it being so hard? But he looked so sexy and she loved it when he was so confident about his abilities. Nodding at his comment, she smiled and gave him a look so lustful, she was sure it could’ve melted anyone else who wasn’t Hayden.
Dropping the flowers on the floor, she turned towards him, pushing him against the wall. One leg hooked around his waist, one hand behind his neck and the other playing with his hair, she started to kiss him with every ounce of power she had in her body. She _needed _this, with every fiber of her being. Barely being able to breathe, she pushed him away. Biting her lip, she looked at him once again. “I’m asking, then. Will you show me your shower?”

nightwalpurgisnacht:
Strolling around the Pier, he was keeping a sharp eye out for his next victim, or victims, this was a new hunting ground and while he wanted to dive right in and get his hands dirty, literally. But maybe testing the waters was for the best, he’d start off with one or two people, maybe a smaller ride. It was then that noticed the strange looks he was receiving, granted walking around the Pier in a suit made him stand out, he hadn’t seen anyone else in a suit here in his short time.
Ignoring all of the stares, his eyes were fixed upon the bright blue sign of the ride before him, the red-haired young woman clearly distracted with packing up. Now drowning wasn’t his normal MO, but if the occasion called for it, he most certainly would. It would mean that he could hang around for longer, changing up his method so it didn’t point back to him. Was this little girl cared for by anyone, would she be missed? That constant ever-hungry appetite that craved more murder was whispering to him to get closer. To cause mechanical failure or system malfunction. Or just to take her, there weren’t that many people around, he could keep her occupied for a few minutes till it cleared completely.
“Have you considered securing the area better? Maybe a guard?”
Turning to see who had spoken to her, she saw a man, just standing there, staring back. He seemed to be looking around, seemingly inspecting his surroundings. The only thing she could focus on was his way of dressing as it reminded her of Hayden. But that was about it. As for the rest of him, he was completely different. PStill picking up her things, she didn’t pay much attention to him, until he spoke.
Staring at the stranger behind her, she was taken aback by his question. She had never considered something like that. Surely, the “keep out” sign had fallen off, but that was about all there was. “Security? Here? What for?” Clearly, he was trespassing like so many others before, but she didn’t see it necessary at all. Still curious about who he was and what he was doing, since he hadn’t answered her question, she crossed her arms. “Who did you say you were and is there anything I can do for you?”

Seeing her enjoying the flowers so much made him smile back, it was infectious really, part of him hated it, how easy it was to relax around her, the other part didn’t care and was all for it. Perhaps he would get her flowers all the time, just to see her smile. That smile, the very one that he was beginning to admire, seemed to falter for the briefest of moments, enough for him to catch it, it was the very same expression she wore back on her ride when she was reminded of home. Had he made a mistake, was today not a day to celebrate. He began to mentally chastise himself for being so foolish and not thinking this through, it was very unlike himself.
“Hmm? Oh yes of course.” Looking down at her dress once again, he smirked, slipping right back into his old ways. “Though I don’t mind you in what you have on.” He’d never really been big on birthdays, his brother had always stolen the limelight when it came to those, so he slunk back into the shadows and celebrated in whatever way he found interesting as a kid, it felt so long ago that he could barely remember, and it wasn’t like he celebrated as an adult. Usually just a drink or two and perhaps picking someone up at the nearest bar, sad but more than he ever got as a kid.
What are we doing today? That question hit him like a truck without brakes. it wasn’t just the we part of it, but mostly the fact that he was supposed to have something planned. Cursing to himself he took her by the hand and led her back into his office, they’d been so tired last night they hadn’t even made it one floor higher to his apartment. The reason he led her from the balcony was so she didn’t see the momentary panic shadow his face. “Ah well, that was a surprise. But I thought we’d spend the day on the pier, as guests. It’ll be good, I promise.”
Feeling a pang of angst about Hayden agreeing to go with her to her apartment, she immediately blushed. Thankfully, he had complimented her, and in case he commented on it she could just chuck it off to reacting to the comment. In reality, she was nervous about what could happen when they got there. Her mind - flooding with different scenarios - was racing and she could feel her heart following closely behind, as they all ended the same way: sex. Suddenly, that was all she could picture - the bed, the kitchen, the shower, the couch. For a brief moment and without really being aware of it, she bit her lip. Unusre as to what she was nervous about - given the nature of their relationship she would imagine it was bound to happen eventually - she shook her head, trying to flush the thoughts away. Looking down at the dress, mimicking his glance, she smiled. "Thank you, but I don't suppose last night's outfit is going to be anything more than a hassle today."
Once again, she looked at him from top to bottom. "And I don't think you'd like to go out in public looking like that, either," she said giggling. The thought of him going out for everyone else to see the mess he was amused her. There was no way he would ever go out looking like he was. "In fact, now that I come to think about it, I would probably say we could both use a shower as well." Immediately after she finished saying that, she realized how it sounded, and this time there was no blaming something else for her face, that had turned as red as her hair. "I... I didn't mean it like that." Trying to cover her face with the flowers, she knew any attempts to hide were futile.
Following Hayden inside, hand in hand, and trying to move on from her comment, she changed the topic back to the day's plans. "The Pier as guests? Is that even possible?" She had always wondered what it would feel like to be rounding The Pier not as staff but as guests, being treated like they did them. Smiling again, she nodded. She was excited to say the least, and she couldn't wait for the whole experience to begin, especially since it was going to be with Hayden. "I trust you," she said, kissing the top of his hand.

invisibledxrkness:
Having spent so much of the night skulking from club to club, selling and promoting her ‘business’, but it hadn’t even been nearly enough for her to make a profit yet, or to cover renting a place. Thankfully she’d run into a rather endearing individual who had built his own den of sorts, not the kind of den she was going to make, more of a home for wayward souls.
Being knocked out of her own head with the force with which she ran into the girl, she practically snarled at her. Stepping back she brushed off her jacket, that clear look of annoyance slapped all across her face, unreadable in her eyes due to how black they were. “Yeah, no kidding.” Normally she stuck to shadows and back alleys, drifting by like a fog in the mornings, sticking to the edges of peoples peripherals, invisible, uninteresting. But it was a little hard to be invisible when people insisted on getting in the way and daydreaming. “Not all of us have the luxury of daydreaming.”
Glancing at the other girl, Ariel couldn’t help but think she was beautiful, in her own way. Given the way she was dressed and the heavy makeup she was wearing, it was as she wanted to drown her beauty beneath it all. But then there was her attitude. With it, she managed to completely blow off any sort of beauty emanating from her. Thinking about it, she hadn’t seen any girl there that wasn’t beautiful, but there was no one that had an attitude, not like the blonde in front of her. There was one girl, Jas, who pranced around like The Pier and The Strip belonged to her, however it couldn’t compare to this one. It was as if she felt the world was against her and she had to fight it in her own way.
Surely, she wasn’t looking where she was going, but to have collided against each other like they had wasn’t her fault completely. The other girl had to be distracted as well, else she would’ve been really easy to spot. Her red hair was hard to miss. Besides, she wasn’t daydreaming, she was just looking around and she very well had the right to do so. “Well, for your information, I wasn’t daydreaming. I was distracted, looking around. But so were you... I mean, you ran into me, not the other way around?” She wasn’t one to fight or to stop someone from stepping on her, but she still said what was on her mind even if it didn’t get her anywhere. “I apologized because I wasn’t watching where I was going, maybe you should do, too, and just be on our way.”

forexer-young:
Picking up the knife from the table he pretended to stab himself in the chest. “Oooooh you wound me Ariel, accusing me of being so simple and straightforward.” Chuckling he placed the blunt instrument that passed for a knife back on the table, of course, he was a chocaholic, who wasn’t, it tasted so damn good. He remembered his mum bringing home little sweets of chocolatey goodness home. He’d missed it greatly after she was gone, he could never bring himself to indulge in chocolates again, not until he moved here and found his spirit renewed.
Pressing a finger to his lips to show her to keep it quiet, this was a secret and a well-kept one at that. It had been a while since he’d started the Treehouse and no one knew about it, he’d like to keep it that way. “Because I don’t want everyone knowing. If you ever need a place to crash, go to the construction zone and find the biggest building. Knock on the door and ask for Peter.” Sitting up straight once again, he slurped on his milkshake, rubbing the back of his head as he immediately switched back to their other conversation. “So what gave you the idea of mixing them?”
Almost snorting and spitting up the milkshake in her mouth from witnessing Peter mock stab himself, she shook her head, trying to swallow before making a mess. “No, not that. Just common. But in a good way.” Laughter was barely letting the words sound intelligible. “I get where you are coming from though, chocolate has a way of warming the soul,” she smiled. Being reminded of home a little, she could feel some sadness seeping in, withering through her with memories of mornings in the middle of the ocean, sipping hot chocolate surrounded by family. She missed them, but in a way, she could say she had found family in The Pier as well. At least she felt that way when she was with Peter, someone he could trust and be herself with, let her inner child roam free.
Observing him as he placed his finger on his lips, she nodded in acknowledgment, understanding what he was about to tell her for a secret. However, when she heard what it was, she was not surprised. “Peter, are you talking about what they call the Treehouse?” When she had arrived at The Pier, she had heard rumors about a hidden place to sleep, started by a boy who liked to collect strays. Not actually having been there herself, she wasn’t aware the place was actually real, but the news came to her without being something new. Continuing the conversation normally, like nothing had happened, she casually lifted her shoulders slightly. “Curiosity, I guess. There was a time I liked to try everything and anything. I had a machine to myself and decided to mix them, and ever since that’s what I’ve gotten.” Slurping what was almost a finished milkshake, she smiled at him.

🍬 - Your muse gifts mine a treat, what treat did they give?
Ariel didn’t know everyone around The Pier, and she had made it a personal challenge to get around and at least introduce herself to the ones she hadn’t met yet, in time for the Halloween party she assumed was happening. She didn’t want to feel left out or a fish outside of water, so to say. It was time to go into The Snuggly Duckling, somewhere she hadn’t been before. Looking down at the bag she was holding, she felt a slightly odd and uncomfortable - this wasn’t her everyday bread and she wasn’t an everyday sight.
Making her way to the bar, straight for the bartender, she took a deep breath and smiled. Once she was within hearable distance, she took one of the antiques inside the bag and one of shells she had collected throughout the years. “Um, hi. My name is Ariel, I work over at the Sea Legs, don’t know if you’ve heard of it? Anyways, I wanted to come over and introduce myself to pretty much everyone who’s part of the staff.” Handing him a sea green tinted wine glass and the shell, she continued. “I wanted to give you something, as a ‘welcome’ present, even though I know you’ve been here longer than I have. They are one of a kind,” she said, smiling, but feeling her face get redder by the second.

🧠 - Our muses get lost in the Mirror Maze together, what does yours do to help find a way out?
Looking around, mirrors all over, she realized they were completely lost. She could feel the frustration emanating from Hayden, as well as her own frustration making its way into her mind. But she knew they had to remain calm in order to get out, or else it would be way worse. “I think the best way out is to stay calm and think. How did we get here?” she asked him, trying to remember her steps. She was trying to keep her cool and trying to seem brave around him, but deep inside she needed him to comfort her. However, she still felt safe, knowing he was there by her side. Spotting a crack through the mirrors were they weren’t reflecting each other, she grabbed his hand. Hayden, I know which way to go, follow me.”

🎭 - Your muse is showing off their Halloween costume, what did they decide to dress up as?
“Okay, what do you think?” Swirling around to show off her costume to Peter, a smile on her face, she looked at him expectantly, unsure if he would get it. She had thought about it not long ago and she had managed to put it together last minute, but she was proud of what had come out. “A mermaid. It works because I work around water, and I think it contrasts with my hair, don’t you?” Another turn, she looked down at herself, green tail and purple shell bra, her hair let down. It wasn’t often she felt as pretty as she did in her Halloween costume.

Whenever the night fell and the darkness made its way towards The Pier was when Ariel would feel most vulnerable and alone. it was the time when she missed her home, when she missed having someone to be with. Most nights she either went out for a stroll on the beach or stayed in with a hot coffee and a book in hand, but some other nights she liked to switch it up and go to a bar. Not the most sociable person, she just enjoyed watching others be, and the human company - even indirectly - made her feel less alone. This was one of those nights.
She found herself sitting behind the bar at Drink Me, looking around and taking in the ambiance, watching everyone in their own little bubble. It was time to get a drink - the only one she would get for the night - and make the most of her time there. Turning around, she was met by a question by the bartender, one which she wasn’t sure how to answer. It was an odd question to be asked at her, and after a few minutes of thinking, she was still unsure. “Well, I think that depends on how good of a king he is. What do you think?”
Nights are easy to work. They’re the better hours to wander the earth through, at least in Ches’s eyes. With patrons dull eyes, drowning their sorrows in the bottom on a glass which Ches is always happy to pour for them. It’s easy to spot what everyone’s after, there’s always the same type. Everyone’s always someone else. The hair, the eyes, the way people will move through the dimly lit room. Some like sharks, swaying in the crowded ocean of a current beating against them. Control they’d try to take, as if the room is moving for them. How wrong they always were. Yet the disney pier would fill with the arrogance of those alike.
Ches would be distracted watching those move around the bar as they idly mused to someone who sat before them- unsure how long they’d been there for. “How long does it take for a king to fall beneath his kingdom?”

It had been a good night for Ariel. She had gone to bed early after doing some reading, and she had slept peacefully. The rain had lulled her to sleep and it had greeted her when she woke up, but she was enjoying the soft rhythm against her ceiling. Hopefully, it would stop once it was time to get to work, but as for now, she embraced the darkness of the day as she started her coffee machine. She had woken up in a particularly good mood and she didn’t want anything to ruin her day. Deciding for some pancakes for breakfast, she had made them and eaten them in barely any time. There was no rush to get to work as she still had almost an hour, but she wanted to go for a stroll around The Pier, maybe even go round the other attractions and watch the carnies setting up.
As she made her way out, some drizzle was still falling, but within a few minutes, it stopped, giving its way to some wary sun rays, seeping through the clouds already starting to dissipate. Usually, when she made her rounds along the inside of The Pier instead of through the bay or beach, she turned between attractions as she didn’t have enough time to get through them all. Today it was the turn for the Haunted House and Sugar Rush. The Haunted House was quiet, not at all the place it was when it opened, and the staff was already getting into character. It was fascinating to watch. Moving on after looking at them for a brief moment, it was turn to head to Sugar Rush. As she was about to arrive, she felt the strength of a body slamming into her, making her lose her balance for a second. After being called upon and glared at with piercing eyes by the stranger, she was appalled, alongside with completely startled. “I am so sorry, I was distracted.”
👻 She’d spent much of the previous night on an all-out bender, things were going well for her now that she was getting set up at the pier. She floated around between couches and paying for motels with the little income she had started generating. After finding a fellow delinquent skulking around the out of bounds area of the pier, the construction zone, she’d gotten to know peter rather well, crashing at the Treehouse until she got herself on her feet. She’d offered some of the other misfits discount prices on Z, some obliged and took it, but she was very careful as not to overstep here, this wasn’t her den after all. But it wouldn’t take long.
A light fog clung to the pier as she went out that morning, walking through it without really disturbing the air, just small wisps rolling off her leather jacket. With pouches of Zero stuffed in her left pocket and cash jammed into her right pocket she was ready for a day of work, her first stop for the day was the early morning carnies. Rounding the corner on her way to Sugar Rush she slammed face-first into someone, “Oi watch where you’re walking.” Brushing down her jacket she looked up at the stranger, glaring at them with piercing black eyes despite them not having really done anything.

meghandistra:
“GREAT,” SHE SAID smiling at the redhead as she began to step into the ride vehicle. Meg flipped her hair back over her shoulder as she sat down and looked around. Even with some of the lights on, this place looked darker than she had expected it to. “Um… So what is this ride about anyway?” she asked curiously as she tried to figure it out from her surroundings.
After configuring the ride to start on its own, Ariel followed the brunette into the cart, making sure to put on the seat belt and getting ready for the ride to start. From the corner of her eyes, she could see the other glancing around, seemingly disturbed by something, but whatever it was, she didn’t say. “Just expect some water. It’s magical.” Pushing the button that would launch them forward, she turned to look at her. “Just you wait and see,” she said, the cart already moving towards the tunnel entrance.

This one was intriguing. Witty. It was safe to say that Hanson liked her. Or was it the challenge that he so adored? Either way, he decided that this girl was going to be one of his first conquests. Or he would die trying.
“We were young and idiotic,” he said with a sort of sigh, “I was determined to make things work. Love conquers all and all that nonsense. But I guess something had to give and I just wasn’t as lucky in love as I thought I was.”
Hans shook his head, “I didn’t really. But you asked and I simply obliged so I believe the better question would be what makes you so curious about a stranger’s sorrows?”
Of course, the promise of young love. She had heard the tales, and it seemed she was witnessing it in the flesh. “Well, I do believe love conquers all. After all, if one wants it enough, then there should be a way of making it work.” She shrugged a little, raising her shoulders.
