I feel so attacked rn
How do people with good eyesight go to sleep? When I’m done with the day I take my glasses off and the world is suddenly a pleasant blur of the most generously monet filter of vision degradation and it’s like. We’re done. You don’t gotta see anything anymore. You try sleeping with perfect eyes??? Seeing stuff????? Sad. Shitty eyesight uncorrected is half a dream state already where you did lose your fucking glasses and you won’t find them till morn but it don’t fucking matter till morn do it
Also people with contacts are strong because we casually remove things from our eyeballs, people with 20/20 vision are coddled and weak and they will not survive when the eyeball touching winter comes

You can't trick the mind, but you can trick the body. Maybe that's why habits are so powerful. The down side is your body can't distiguish between good habits and bad habits.

This is how season 3 is going to go:
Anne and Gilbert will continue to be school rivals. Gilbert will start off still denying how he feels about her, but those looks he gives her tell another story. So Bash is going to keep teasing him about it until Gilbert finally can admit to himself that, yes, he does like her. Meanwhile, Anne is oblivious to that fact…or I guess since Cole told her she’ll be in denial. But seeing as how she’s obviously attracted to him Diana will be sure to point it out to her. They’ll be competitive in school and perhaps become friends. The heart wrenching part is that Gilbert will always be wanting more. Maybe we’ll get another Christmas party where there happens to be dancing and he’ll look at her from across the room like there was nothing else on the planet but the two of them. Maybe she’ll find herself in his arms, much to her surprise. And maybe he’ll accept that he loves her by the end of all…and decide show her that she’s more than just an awkward, freckled red-head.

I love how Gilbert just waits for the right timing. He betters himself but still engaging Anne, appeasing to their competative spirit.
Both Anne and Gilbert are yet to blossom as a power couple
"Tragical romance and all?"
"Remains to be seen"

Its the little things that makes this series so pure!
Was watching with my cousin when I noticed something.
It’s during this scene. You might have noticed this part. (Of course. How could you not?)
But notice Gilbert’s disappointment when he realized Anne is more excited to meet Sebastian than him.
LOOK. AT. HIS. CONFUSED. AND. DISAPPOINTED. FACE.
Gilbert internally: Damn girl, I stood up first. That means I miss you Anne Shirley Cuthbert. I’m trying to be subtle about it but…daaaammn.

I completely agree with your opinion. I love the books, they were my childhood. And seeing what Moira Walley-Becket had done with it made me want to watch more. In fact, it made me want to re-read the books.
I do get why people want it "same with the books". It feels different when your reading. It has a different sensation as to when you're watching a film.
I dont know why film makers have to contest with the authors writing. Authors aren't directors. They write. So its the director's interpretation that brings the film to reality with the help of other important persons to make the film close to perfect.
Matthew Cuthbert had once said (netflix) "these problems were once modern, until it wasn't"
These problems portrayed on netflix were present way before any of us were born. And to have them portrayed in such a genius way with talented actors and breathtaking scenes, I can't help but pray for the success of this show.
But to be honest, alot of the struggles shown on netflix are on the books but not in depth. It was up to the readers for interpretation. And this film was Moira Wallley-Becket's interpretation and I fell in love with it.
Plus, if anyone really wants to go on a very absorbed journey, read the books.
Anne with an E
I binge-watched the entire second season a few days ago and finally started to read over the mass amounts of opinions. Personally, I see both sides of the ‘argument’. Some extremely devoted fans are upset that the Netflix adaptation is too far off the original and ‘doesn’t get it right.’ But there are also people who understand that the show is trying to incorporate modern topics into the beloved classic. Now, my own opinion. Yes, I would love to have a tv show or movie follow a story exactly so I can see the book come to life (but that’s already been done quite well so why try to outdo something that’s already close to perfect?) but I also feel that it’s extremely important for people to see these modern issues and open their eyes. By showing all these characters go through real stuff that our society is dealing with, we might learn other ways to deal with these issues. Additionally, we are no longer keeping these issues in a chest and pretending it doesn’t exist, which is extremely important. Yes, Anne can be more overdramatic than some of us may have imagined and the flash backs are a bit morbid, but there are orphans who have ptsd from bad households, maybe not everyone, but there are enough. We see Anne and other characters struggle with mental health problems and we also see Cole struggling not only as an artist but with accepting his sexual orientation. When it comes to doing the book justice, this series may not do that, but this series beautifully brings the characters to life and adds depth to characters that makes them relatable. As a lover of the book and the characters, I can safely say that I find the Netflix series enjoyable and am ecstatic to see what they have in store for us.
