K-Town Pizza, October 23’
Taken in Nikon FM2 using Kodak Gold
Forgot to post something on Friday, oopsie.
Here’s a shot from the only pizza place I go to in this Italian-majority town of like three maybe four pizza shops.
I never noticed the neon signs but it looked cute. I need to come back here when it’s night time.

“Guess I’m Not Enough”, 2019-2022
Abstract acrylic painting
Keeping up with my promise to post old art on Mondays, this painting was so fun. Painted my dramatic feelings back in 2019 then came back years later and realized I could make it better so I took a white acrylic market and just went ham.
It’s kinda funny thinking about how the person I painted this about has no bearing on my life anymore. Goes to show how times can change.

Hotel Pennsylvania, October 23’
Taken on Nikon FM2 using Kodak Gold 200
I’d made the walk through 32nd Street to Penn Station countless times but it was only at that moment that I was struck by how overbearing the emptiness of a building I hadn’t realized was torn down was.
Having the lights of stores on 33rd Street shining over the empty let was a surreal experience and looking on this shot almost has a melancholic atmosphere at the loss of mass.

Your Persona (2019)
Abstract portrait, acrylic paint
This was a painting I had to do for a class way back based on my “abstract” perception of someone I knew. I ended up painting a friend who was in the same class and thinking, “What are the coolest features of this person?” and landing on their hair, their fashion, and the way they think.

Father Demo Square, October 23’
Taken on Nikon FM2 using Kodak Gold 200
This was another shot that I loved from the first roll. The vibe didn’t match the other photos so I left it on its own so it didn’t clash.

Hudson Yards, October 23’
Taken on Nikon FM2 using Kodak Gold 200
A couple months ago I finally jumped off the bridge into a film photography chasm and these were some of my favorite architectural shots I got out of my first roll of film. Especially the first one with that building on the right just resonating warm across the the whole photo.
I’m so in love with the way film turns these photos into moments, something I’d felt fairly disillusioned with when it came to just snagging a photo with my phone so I’m excited to see how far I can get with my new old camera.
