WIP Wednesday

Was tagged (in the broad, blanket sense) by @langdonsmel. This is part of a larger oneshot, but this section is inspired by this post because it made me literally laugh out loud. Enjoy, I guess? It's been a while since I've written anything. I'm sorry.

And that was how Mel found him—shirtless, covered in what appeared to be blood, and cursing at the machine that provided clean sets of scrubs. Sensing her gaze on him, Frank glanced over and (incorrectly) interpreted her staring to be out of horror. "It's not mine, I swear," he said, hands held aloft like she was some skittish animal that he needed to soothe. Mel felt she had finally lost the plot. So, naturally, there was only one rational thing left to do: channel Dr. Heather Collins as she fended off unwanted flirtatious advances. "No," she stated to Frank directly. Somehow the entire ED floor had gone silent, save for the rhythmic chirps and beeps of monitoring machines. He blinked once, twice, paused, then a third time. "Uh…'no' what?" Mel lifted a clenched fist in front of her chest, index finger popping out suddenly as though she were about to make an imperative point. Unfortunately, said index finger also brought her attention back to Frank Langdon's very bare chest, abdomen, and was that a fucking happy trail—? "No," she repeated to herself with more conviction and pivoted on the ball of her foot with every intent of making a beeline to the nearest stairwell with access to the roof.
