PH21 Gallery presents: Motion – A Curated International Photography Exhibition, July 26 – August 19, 2025.

Photography is a medium of still images; it cannot create the illusion of motion the way moving images such as film, video, or cartoons can. The static nature of the image itself, however, has never prevented photographers from putting motion in the centre of their endeavours. In addition to freezing the moment, they often strive to capture movement and the passing of time in a variety of other ways as well. The fragile moment might be disrupted by showing the sweeping power of motion. Capturing motion is never a given in photography because it is not a default option of the medium. Depicting or expressing motion is a welcome challenge for photographers; it is also the source of some of the most creative images in diverse photographic genres. PH21 Gallery invites photographers to submit their work for a group exhibition themed Motion. We welcome submissions from all photographers interested in this intriguing topic and who would like to share their work with a wider international audience through exposure at PH21 Gallery. The theme is broadly construed and is independent of generic or stylistic constraints. We are interested in all possible creative photographic interpretations of the theme.

33rd Annual Emerald Coast National Juried Art Exhibition

The Emerald Coast National (ECN) is a popular juried exhibition held annually at Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries, Northwest Florida State College. ECN, originally a regional exhibition, now includes artists from across the country. The show brings creative, inspired, and skilled artwork from working artists to NWFSC, offering rich learning and engagement for artists, students, and educators. The annual ECN programming includes opportunities for talks, demonstrations, and community engagement throughout the show’s duration. ALL STYLES OF ART AND ALL MEDIUMS are welcome, including sound, kinetic, sculpture, photography, video, design, functional art, fiber, textile, and performance. This year, we have introduced the themes of texture and touch, which suggest connection, involvement, function, use, comfort, and more. We typically see about 250 applications from artists across the US working in contemporary, experimental, and classical mediums, styles, and techniques. Best in Show wins a cash award of 1000.00 and a solo show curated by MKAC typically exhibited during the next season's ECN show. This year's ECN will be guest juried by Mr. Nicholas Croghan, ABOUT: Nicholas Croghan (MFA, MA) is an artist and curator who has been the Director of the Pensacola Museum of Art since 2019. He is also a faculty member in the UWF Department of Art and Design, where he teaches museum studies and studio art classes.

The 14th Annual PleinAir Salon is an online art competition with 12 monthly cycles, and is open to a variety of mediums and styles. It’s not just for plein air painters! We invite a variety of top master artists, museum directors and gallery owners to judge each month. All monthly winners are automatically included in the Annual Competition where the Grand Prize winner receives $15,000 and has their painting featured on the cover of PleinAir Magazine, the #1 representational art magazine at Barnes & Noble. This exhibit explores the evocative theme of abandoned architecture and the traces left by humanity. We seek to showcase images that reveal the stories etched into architectural spaces and the objects left behind—the marks, structures, and artifacts that speak to our histories and inspire contemplation. From crumbling factories and forgotten homes to discarded tools and personal belongings, these remnants of human presence evoke a sense of time’s passage and humanity’s impermanence. This is a call to preserve these fleeting spaces and objects through photography before they fade, rot, or crumble into obscurity. Colors of Humanity - "Human Nature" 2025 Call for Entry - Online Art Show

This show is all about the human figure and portrait as well as referring to the distinguishing characteristics of humans—including ways of thinking, feeling and acting—which humans tend to have naturally, independently of the influence of culture. This is our 10th annual show, and we are excited to see your interpretation. PAY IT FORWARD- We will be donating 10% of all entry fees from this show to Your Safe Haven. YSH is a nonprofit agency, located in Bedford County, PA, that serves victims of all serious crimes and their families, including, but not limited to: domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, theft, homicide, robbery, physical assault, DUI related crimes, adult survivors of child sexual assault, etc. Colors of Humanity is not affiliated with Your Safe Haven. ELIGIBILITY- All artists 18 and over may enter. JUDGING CRITERIA- Originality, interpretation, quality, demonstration of ability, and usage of medium. JUROR- Janelle Cogan. ENTRY FEE- $20 for 1 or 2 pieces (You may enter more than once if you have additional works.) AWARDS- A Cash prize will be given to the Best of Show winner.
