Hello friend! First let me apologize for letting this ask sit for so long - I so hope you actually see this since its anonymous and I cant tag you. Feel free to let me know if you do see this.

First I was traveling and I also took some time to think about how fully I wanted to answer this question, because I've never really shared much about what went on while creating that universe.

So the short answer to your question is: never say never! Stranger Things have literally happened lol.

But if you want a slightly more in depth answer...

I would love to go back to FTU and give it the ending it deserves. Theres no doubt in my mind that it's the best writing I've ever produced, in particular Turn and Face the Strange. And it warms the darkest ugliest parts of me to know that people are still finding joy in my writing.

It'll probably surprise nobody to learn that I was in the midst of the worst depressive episode I'd ever gone through while writing the bulk of FTU. Most of Turn and Face the Strange was written while going through IOP. My ED was out of control, and I was coming off of a health scare the year before that I had absolutely not come to terms with. It was a bleak winter.

Juxtaposie has been pretty open about what she was going through around the same time, if you've seen in any of her author notes on her different stories or some of her anniversary posts on tumblr.

For me? I packed my shit up, moved across the country, bought a house and found career opportunities that I never imagined when I was finishing school. I am extremely lucky with where and how I've landed, but as much as I miss writing (I do, so much, it was a huge part of my identity for so long) I haven't really produced anything substantial in years at this point.

There is a finished shorter FTU story thats never made it out of rough draft. Once a year I reopen and reread it and think about throwing it up, but I usually end up hesitating because getting back into the mindset I was in 2018 is intimidating at best and anxiety inducing at worst.

Im not trying to make you feel bad for asking. It's actually the opposite - receiving this ask replaces some of the anxiety with warm feelings. I love that you reached out. I love that you are still reading these stories almost ten years later. I love that you gave me a chance to open up a little more than I was able to back then. And I love that you gave me a chance to reflect on how far I've come since then!

Maybe it'll all snap back into place one day and I'll be a writer again. ADHD means I am capable of anything and one day could be blighted with the inspiration and motivation to actually produce something.

Even though we're not really writing anymore, @juxtaposie and I still hang out. I've successfully transitioned from Weird Internet Friend to Weird Travelling Aunt who flies in a few times a year with too many presents.

Taskmaster is legitimately the best show ever like. Five comedians compete for zero money and minimal prestige, which means they're all there to have fun and cause chaos and you can tell that theyre all enjoying it. The two hosts have a weird psychosocial bdsm dynamic and they make it everyone's problem and they both actively consent to it and enjoy it. They have fancy chairs and a house on a golf course that get destroyed regularly. Everyone embarrasses themselves and has a great time doing it. The host whos the "sub" and regularly gets verbally and at times physically abused by every single person on the show organizes everything including a large portion of the abuse. They put every single episode for free on youtube along with lots of bonus content so that every single person can watch it. They have a ton of memes and references and Easter eggs hidden all around but it doesnt limit your enjoyment if you miss something. You find yourself rooting for a special little guy but its equally fun when your special little guy looses. You can pop it on in the background and tune in when you see something funny and laugh but it also makes great background noise. They even have a cow.
