Like, ^THIS is rough to watch and HURTS because I love them both and they love each other and the team loves them and everyone's stressed and I think Garcia's stress feeds off everyone else's stress and makes it worse for her.

so i genuinely believe that cme is working towards penelope/luke endgame (i don't think i'm actually delunsional, right??) i just wondered how you see them getting together in the show?

i don't think you're delusional, nonny, and if you are.. i am too. i do get a little nervous because they've made no promises, and in fact erica messer is always vague about it when asked. and maybe i'm putting too much faith in the powers that be, but, i just have to believe they're endgame based on the story they've put forth for them in evolution?? i think the main reason they sabotaged luke and penelope's date in the narrative was because the writers wanted to continue the will-they-won't-they dynamic for a while longer, because it's playful and fun, and also it's familiar to them. the writers know how to do that already. but the fact they've refocused on their relationship and given us SO much between these two characters in evolution - it has to be leading somewhere! i believe!

as for how i see them getting together i'm really not sure!! but with the tidbit from messer's interviews that garcia is going on some dates/trying to have a love life, i think this points heavily towards penelope having some sort of self-realization. kind of a "why am i looking for love in all these people when i have it right in front of me?" type thing.

my headcanons for them are really that luke is fully in love with her, knows it, but acknowledges that penelope broke it off with him and she (says she) doesn't want a relationship so he'd never push it. and i think he's comfortable here too, btw - he seems to just love having a close relationship with her, even if it is not romantic. whereas penelope is a self-sabotager, afraid of people abandoning her, and afraid of being true to her own emotions sometimes so she can't really admit what she feels for him because if she pursues it then she feels she'll lose him.

i don't know if this is what i think will actually happen versus what i just want to happen but, i like to imagine penelope dating people and having fun with it but feeling like something is missing and realizing that something is luke. she strikes me as the type to end a date with someone, come home, look at a photo of her and luke together on her phone, have an OMG DUH moment as she realizes life is too short to waste on fears of what could be, run over to his house in the middle of the night and knock on his door in order to word vomit all of these thoughts and feelings and make a declaration of love to him. (which he readily responds to!)

i do think that in order for garvez to move forward, it will have to be penelope who makes the leap. of all the scenarios i've had filter through my brain, the lynch pin for me is penelope getting over her fears and telling luke how she feels!
