Did a couple minor fixes but who cares. Stupid tumblr for not updating the images on reblogs, it always bugs me that my fixes on art won't be seen unless you view the origin post. Oh well...
Finally finished them all!

The Tholian Web
Here are the Tholian ships I threw together real quick for the shot. I gave them a red sheen that reflects from certain angles to mimic the original look. The red didn't really show in the angle of the render, but oh well.

hot take but the main reason "the wayne family has a secret evil legacy" storylines don't work for me is because they run counter to how the story frames the waynes deaths.
the reason the death of thomas and martha wayne matters more than its effect on a young bruce is that they were the last good family among the upper crust. thomas was a self sacrificing doctor and martha started and ran the charity foundation of their company. wayne enterprises treated its employees well and stayed out of shady business and the mob scene. they didn't die in that alley bc they were stupid, oblivious rich people fucking around, but because they had been working on meaningfully cleaning up that area and wanted their son to see and be among the people they were trying to help. they wanted their son to care about who they were helping. they walked down that street because gotham was their home and they loved it regardless of its faults -a mindset bruce does in fact inherit despite every reason to the contrary.
making the waynes have a "dark history" just takes away from the tragedy of actually good, caring people being killed for basically no reason in a city that really needed them.

Here's a reminder to go back and look at your likes. You saved them for a reason right? You don't have to only enjoy things once. Social media has a way with making you feel like you have to keep scrolling because you might miss out on finding the best post you've ever seen, even though you've already found many.

This is the result of dumbing down media. Anyone who watched the movie knows Astrid braids his hair because it's literally a scene in the movie, but somehow so many commenters didn't even notice.
I remember when videos like this talking about something cute would just be "The way she braids his hair is so cute" instead of pretending it was some sort of revelation that they just now noticed.
Maybe I'm overreacting but this is just the best example I could find right now. I've seen so many "analytical" videos talk about hidden meanings and other things in shows that are literally not hidden at all; they're just not spoon fed to the audience.

Another unfortunate thing is pages adding AI noise filters to actual photos that just make them look completely AI generated. It blurs the line even further. Here is an example from Facebook:
Anyone who's seen LotR knows that the top one is a real screencap from the Return of the King, but the filter makes it look very AI, especially looking at Sam's eyes. I also confirmed that the bottom is an actual photo of Sean and his daughter.
Now compare to the actual screencap:

This kind of thing will only cause people who aren't as familiar with AI to have a harder time discerning the difference. This isn't even the worst example I've seen, it's pretty tame, and most likely just someone adding a noise filter because the original is pretty noisy.
The amount of AI images appearing in image searches is disturbing, especially when I'm looking for references of accurate historical fashion. Over half the results are always AI now.
I've even seen "historical" "photos" being shared on Facebook pages as fact, and people actually believe them to be real. These pages go so far as to invent entire historical figures, claiming they were just previously unknown.
History itself is literally being warped and distorted by people using AI.

I think realism is the wrong way to go in stories. What people actually want is believability. Something doesn’t have to be “realistic” to be believable in the context of the story. The story and its elements just need to be consistent within its own universe.
People use “realism” to critique bad stories, when the actual reason it’s not working is a lack of believability or inconsistency with the “rules” of the universe. This just leads to wrong conclusions being made in my opinion.
