My followers know I hate talking about politics and current events, and generally refuse to do so, but this is important.

A bill has been introduced in the US that would make all pornography a federal crime. Owning it. Creating it. Distributing it.

Under this law, fanart of nude characters would be a federal crime.

Under this law, depictions of homosexuality or simply being transgender, would be considered pornography and a federal crime.

This bill is not going to pass.

However, the reason for this bill is to continue to push the "overton window". The reason for this bill is to make banning pornography seem more and more normal to everyone until they can actually do that.

And remember, they consider depictions of gay characters and transgenders characters "pornography" in any context, including platonic.

They have been working on this for a decade now and it has been working.

If you are one of the people in fandom who thinks that "nasty" porn on AO3 should be banned because it's "icky" or "immoral", then this mental scam is working on you.

Censorship is never about protecting people.

Censorship is always about control.

Do not let the rising moral panic affect your mind and make you weak to propaganda that lets others control you and control what you watch and read.

Do not fall for the scam.

When they say they are going to ban "pornography" it means they're going to ban anything they don't like by calling it "pornography" and they don't like you!!

I’m sorry to all the YouTubers I love and want to support but with YouTube’s stupid policy to give them your ID, I simply can’t in good faith use the platform. I hate this wave of censorship we’re in where we have to give up our online safety under the guise of “protecting children.” Hey here’s a thought, maybe make YouTube Kids ACTUALLY safe. If you cared so much for kids, you wouldn’t let harmful content run rampant on there and basically porn ads on your site. If it’s “for the kids” why haven’t you done anything truly substantial instead of forcing people to give highly sensitive information? Especially when so little people have faith there won’t be a data leak (which happens so frequently online).

And guess what, I have ZERO faith in the stupid AI bot. The current bot for YouTube will incorrectly take down videos, copyright strike them, or mark them as for kids even when the creator has marked its not. Not to mention that they had to have trained the bot on kid’s YouTube history. How else would they know what content is primarily watched by children unless they trained it on children. Doesn’t seem like you cared that much for the children when you used their information to enforce this stupid policy.

Ultimately, I fucking hate I have to give up something that is such a big part of my life. I love YouTube and I love (in a non-parasocial way of course) the YouTubers I follow. And I know some of them are full time creators and rely on their supporters which makes this extra sucky cause this is their livelihood. But that’s the thing, YouTube is currently jeopardizing their creators. They are making it even more difficult for people to see their videos and have their fans support them.

YouTube doesn’t care about kids, their creators, or their users. And this policy shows that.

Anyway, boycott YouTube please. I’m literally begging you to. Don’t give in. I just made an app limitation that makes me close the app as soon as I open it and I recommend doing this as well if you are like me and use it frequently. We need to show YouTube we are serious in the fight against censorship and we refuse to give them our IDs.

A Canadian citizen in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Florida died while awaiting removal from the U.S., the agency announced Thursday.

Johnny Noviello, 49, was found unresponsive Monday afternoon in Miami’s Bureau of Prisons Federal Detention Center. In a press release, ICE said medical staff “responded immediately and began administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation, automated external defibrillator shock and called 911.“ But Noviello was pronounced dead within the hour.

The cause of death remains under investigation.

FADPA BILL: Foreign Anti-digital piracy act it gives companies like Nintendo and others who love to whine about piracy the ability to have those sites blocked which sounds like block beard!

ACPA ACT: (if you look this one up make sure you type bill after because this is also the name of a conference.)another anti piracy bill! Literally very little difference!

The reason there are so many repeat or same kinda bills is because they are throwing things at the wall to see what sticks! They know that their constituents don’t like them right now especially after the last big bill they passed! The government on both sides seems to know their voters are getting more and more angry; have you seen videos of town halls recently? The people are fed up with this administration so they know that whatever was their main goal in project screw America ,oh I mean, 2025 done fast and reckless. And yeah kosa is bipartisan but that’s because democrats and republicans are all the same they just wear different colors!

Democrats have been failing to do anything until time is basically running out! Because they didn’t care! If the republicans look bad the conservatives will lose votes! They let this crap happen for votes!!!

And republicans just love money power and hate their constituents! But they know that it’s only a matter of time before they get voted out.

So keep calling they are all scared of losing so much so make them more scared! I don’t mean threatening them but call them and voice your concerns, visit them in person seriously you can do that! And keep the heat cranked up to high! And even if any of these pass keep going because a bill passing doesn’t stop the fight it only makes it so we have to fight harder!

Last thing I’ll post about bill S-209 (KOSA for Canadians basically) for today, but if they really ‘cared about the children’ wouldn’t they raise the age of consent to 18/19 (global standard) instead of doing some bullshit to sell Canadian citizen’s data?

Wouldn’t they try to stop the bills being passed that allow minors to operate heavy machinery, work risky jobs, and endanger themselves for minimum wage — or less?

Wouldn’t they be clamouring to convince the provincial governments to put mandatory Narcan & Naloxone training in schools, with accessible kits in every school?

If they truly cared about kids, wouldn’t the federal government be passing laws on rent and tuition caps? Wouldn’t they be looking to provide clean, safe water to every child in Canada (this may be out of date, but something like 56% of indigenous reserves and rural communities don’t have consistent, clean water which is fucked)?

If they truly gave a shit about the wellbeing of children would they not be lowering the voting age? Would they not be implementing laws that allow children to leave abusive homes and families?

They are not doing this to ‘save the kids’, this is facism in the making

I just activated social anxiety. I called both my Senators to urge them to oppose KOSA, which harms free speech. It scared the shit out of me. I was too scared to continue with the Congressmen and Congresswomen. It should take a while for my anxiety to cool down….🫩🫩
