As for the doubting of oneself, I get that feeling all the time, my brother, that is perfectly normal. I may be 34, but I still feel like I'm in my early 20s and that I shouldn't be able to do jobs on my own, but here we are.

Also, I believe you can get your commissions done. If you're feeling nervous, why not take a moment and read over what your clients would like, one at a time and just slowly read them over, take that one that you know will spring those creative juices and go with it, and then the other one, the same, and then the others.

I’ve been okay I guess. Couldn’t really sleep last night despite taking sleeping pills. Nervous about getting commissions done this month because I’ve been kind of slow at them due to not really enjoying them, but I NEED to finish them all this month because of my May training courses.

Also can’t help but doubt myself like with every job I attempt, something is always telling me I’m not ‘adult’ enough to handle actual jobs even though I’ve proven I can do them.

A majestic, atmospheric game is back due to a promise I made years ago that as soon as I got a better graphics card, I would play this game again. Well, that time has come. Let's return to this beautiful game and replay it in the quality that it was MEANT to be played!

So I know you said "no calls asking if they've read the application yet" but can people still send in one of those "thank you for interviewing me" letters?

Oh yes, of course, anytime AFTER there’s an interview, the candidate is allowed to send in a “Thank you for the interview” message, depending on who is doing the hiring. Some managers use that as an incentive to look more into the candidate who has had the interview with them, where some basically don’t, but thank the candidate anyway.

If a candidate does send a thank you message after the interview, always leave it as genuine, confident, and open ended as possible, like this following example:

“Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to interview me. I look forward to hearing from you again as to your decision on the position. If you have any more questions for me, please let me know, I’ll be more then happy to answer.” 

Simple, to the point and respectful.

What one should NOT do is add in any pleads, or begging the manager to really think hard about their decision or tell them that they’re trying to sell themselves really hard in the interview. It’s just bad practice and it makes them look very desperate, whereas being calm and cool under pressure and rolling with the punches shows lots of strength and confidence.

Also, in case there hasn’t been a response for a week after the interview, the candidate is allowed to follow up with them, because after the interview, the manager doing the hiring is obliged to return a call or a message to the candidate at a certain time frame, announcing their decision.

If I may, once again, reblog this and let you know my stand, coming from someone who IS a manager and now a Regional Manager.

Prepare yourselves for a dosage of hard reality because here’s the important thing you need to know for finding work nowadays, and EVERYONE should know this.

The following points were from my boss, the owner of the store I’m managing right now. The first two points are capitalized to show how important they are:

- EMPLOYERS DO NOT WANT YOU TO JUST COME IN AND ASK FOR A JOB! THIS DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE! YOU WILL BE REJECTED 100% ON THE SPOT!

- ALSO, ONCE YOU HAVE GIVEN THEM AN APPLICATION AND RESUME, DO NOT…I REPEAT…DO NOT CALL OR GO BACK TO THEM AT ANYTIME TO ASK IF THEY’VE READ YOUR RESUME OR HAVE ANY OPENINGS; YOU WILL BE SEEN AS AN ANNOYANCE AND WILL NOT GET HIRED! ((TRUST ME, I HAVE DONE THIS AND HAVE GOTTEN REJECTED EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.))

- I’m sorry, but old methods do not work anymore, no matter what the elderly say. With the online world available, the realm of employment depends on it, because employers have qualifications, rules, and expectations that a person must follow and heed to before they get hired and they’d rather give an online interview/survey rather then in person because it’s more convenient and less time consuming for them, and then, only if they qualify, THEN you might get a second interview, possibly in person.

- We have reached an age where face value isnt good enough; just asking, “can you give me a job?” will not get you anywhere. They don’t know you from a hole in the ground and you might be detrimental to the establishment, so bosses need to know right off the bat what your qualifications are, etc., and if you have no experience in their field, you’re out. It sucks to know this, but that’s where we are now.

Now, if you want, you can quote my boss and myself on this and use this post as a reference because I am a Store Manager (now Regional Manager) myself and have had many an experience of the above.

Take what has been said here with a grain of salt. Reality and clarity contrasts the original post and it needs to be seen!

Do be positive though, finding work does take work in itself, but BE OPEN TO ANYTHING. Learn how to write a proper resume as well as a cover letter, and drop those babies off in as many places as possible, and who knows, that place of business just might have the training you need to qualify too.

Need Financial Aid

Okay so now that it’s the end of the month I can see all the damage done by by manic episode and other factors that happened.

-My bike got stolen, I needed the bike to be an uber food delivery guy

-Wasn’t able to restore foodstamps in time (I’ll see if anything can be done)

-I dropped my art tablet so it keeps glitching

-Rent is in 8 days, about 700 short
