PhantomTale:

Overview: Let’s start off with an overall view of PhantomTale. This AU occurred whenever a genocide route has ended after the player has killed Sans. However, the player here has chosen not to erase this timeline/world and has simply left. Frisk goes by Hana in this universe. Hana is technically the soul of a previous timeline where they died by Sans but has just never been able to move on. Here, Hana finally is able to act on their own instead of doing whatever the player wants them to do. Keep in mind, they are still a child. So obviously Hana never wanted to do any harm to the monsters. It’s the guilt and tragedy that leads them to be a lost soul. Cut to the current timeline where they see Sans or VS now wondering the abandoned ruins as a vengeful spirit with two new SOUL traits, Perseverance, and Kindness. Struck with guilt, Hana approaches him and tries to make amends with him. While it does take some time, he does eventually come to understand the situation and forgives them. Now fast forward to today where VS meets Savage in FV!Tale and learns about his AU and how it was completely demolished. While VS DOES associate with Nightmare and the others, he isn’t on the field yet as he is fairly new.

Relationship dynamics: While he and Hana are in good terms, Hana and Savage are weary with each other. VS tries to reassure him that Hana isn’t like his Frisk or Chara in FV!Tale and that they aren’t a danger to him. VS doesn’t see any ghostly images or specters of his loved ones or Papyrus but he DOES get frequent nightmares or flashbacks of his past. While Nightmare does enjoy the negativity, he doesn’t weaponize it against him or the others on the team. He respects them to a degree where he doesn’t see them as useless tools. Night doesn’t have romantic feelings for people in this AU but he is close with Error and Killer. Killer also doesn’t have romantic feelings for anyone but he’s close with Nightmare, Dust and Horror. Killer doesn’t hate Hana but he has to be reminded that they’re not THEIR Chara and Hana doesn’t blame them for that. Dust also has similar issues but he’s more worried about VS’s mental stability with them. He doesn’t want them to end up the same way he did. Horror doesn’t really mind them, he and Killer do think VS and Savage are interesting though. Cross thinks VS is chill but hasn’t really met Savage yet. Error doesn’t really know much about either of them so he can’t really have an opinion on them, he does sympathize a bit with the AU destruction though.

This is Hana. FallenSpirits! Frisk. They're death came from a genocide route after dying from Sans. Their spirit lingered because of mass amounts of sorrow and anger from the fact that they had no control over their own actions due to the player. Hana doesn't hold any grudges or transgressions towards VS!Sans but they do feel awful towards the amount of pain and greif that their actions has caused him even if it wasn't on purpose. Once I post the fic on my main you'll see how their dynamic is between the two now.

Here's some cannon lore for VS!Sans.

Mostly everyone in his au is dead. Except for Chara. Frisk's ghost haunts him even in the afterlife after he finally got the chance to kill them. VS!Sans does know about the Resets as for some reason there was something in his file code that made it so he never lost his most of his memories after the RESETS. His Au is dead and is abandoned as there's nobody left in that world. However that doesn't mean that their ghosts aren't there. This AU is called Fallen Spirits!Tale or simply Undersoul. This Au isn't finished but you are welcome to ask questions.

VS!Sans mainly spends his time AU hopping and hanging out with other Sanses. Does he belong with the Bad Sanses? I'm not sure yet. I plan on writing a seperate story for him and possibly posting it on A03 perhaps.
