[After grabbing the products he had purchased, the man would only slightly turn his head.]

“Thank you for the kind offer, but I regretfully decline. I am currently adhering to a strict schedule, and recent additions have necessitated my full attention and commitment.”

[The gentleman would proceed to cast his gaze upon the name tag of the baker, taking a moment to understand the details inscribed upon it, before directing his attention back towards the individual.]

“Ah, Beth, isn't it? Allow me to introduce myself as Kazuya Chataro. This encounter has undeniably been a delightful experience, albeit brief. Despite its brevity, I found solace in our interaction. Rest assured, I intend to revisit this establishment in the near future.”

[Before gathering his belongings and departing, the man would place a generous $15 tip on the countertop as a token of his appreciation.]

[A burly, tall, and semi-intimidating figure loomed into the Bakery, his presence seeming to thin the air.The man made his way to the counter and without hesitation, he placed his order.]

"Greetings. I would like a small loaf of bread and a bottle of water.”

“…..”

“Also If it's alright...... Could you add on one of those colorful cupcakes to my order, please.Also... if it's not too much trouble... a bottle of milk with that too.”

[For some reason, the man's once intimidating aura seemed to fade away in an instant, replaced by a sheepish and shy demeanor. His eyes averted as he quietly asked for the last two items to be added to his order, hinting that they were not for him but for someone else..]

"A-Ah, welcome to my bakery..! Oh? A loaf of bread, a bottle of water, a cupcake, and a bottle of milk? T-That's no trouble at all, sir! W-Will that be for here or to go?"

She smiled warmly at him as she brought the bread and cupcake out of the case, before heading into the back to fetch the water and milk

Cole only smirked.

"That is a good trait to have, especially in such a mysterious situation. I suppose that one person having genuine kindness makes it more interesting."

"They probably had a reason? That is an interesting world view. Your feeling of self-worth seems to be practically nonexistent. Don't worry, I am sure that at least someone here is really good at hiding in the shadow of kindness!"

"I don't blame you for not wanting to think about it. You seem nice, I certainly hope that you don't find out everyone close to you is secretly a murderer. It would be unfortunate if you found that out in...sadder circumstances. Wouldn't you agree?"

"We all wish to have gotten what we want under better circumstances. At least I imagine so. I can't necessarily speak for everyone. It is better to have it in a crooked way than deal with the reality of the real world."

[As you prepared the pastries and drinks, you couldn't help but notice the man turning around and focusing on something in his hands. Despite his back facing you, you would catch a glimpse of two Polaroid images he held. One photo, worn with age, depicted the man with a vibrant woman who possessed striking red hair, green eyes, and a captivating personality. The other photo, more recent, showcased the man alongside a child with dirty blonde hair, taken in a colorful photo booth adorned with an abundance of emoticons.One thing that the two photos had in common was definitely on how in both photos the man continued to keep a stoic expression.]

“……”

[The man would end up pocketing the two images before looking back towards the Baker.]

“So, how much do I owe you..?”

Am I missing the lore or something? On the other blog, I thought Amanda and Cole were on good terms with each other... Or decent. Why do they hate each other now?

(They have actually always canonically disliked each other. It just wasn’t as shown. It was referenced in certain responses though - Mod ZMD

After hearing Beth tell her story, one question came to Cole’s head. “Did you take their life for the manipulation of your life? My apologies for asking so abruptly. Most of the people I have seen here are guilty of at least one thing. It is quite an odd but common trend. It is better to know these details than find out at the wrong time.” Despite his words, Cole continued to smile.

“That was…quicker than I had anticipated. Along with that, I was not expecting two.” For the first time during this interaction, Cole seemed genuinely surprised. “Hm, it seems as if today was my lucky day! It has been quite some time since I have had one of those.”

“If you don’t mind me inquiring, what is your story? How did you get into your profession? How did you get into the manor?”

As Cole spoke, he didn’t make any eye contact. His eyes stayed firmly on the dark chocolate cake.

When was it the last time you both took a bath? you guys totally smell.... especially Cole, bro prob smells like gunpowder and ash all the time

"Well, in my position, personal grooming takes on an unconventional twist. When it comes to showering, I've learned to adapt to my surroundings. Sometimes water can be found near the manor or within the realm of those games. As for shaving, I've discovered that fire or wax can be surprisingly efficient for maintaining my personal hygiene,"

"When it comes to ensuring a scent that doesn't reek of death, I rely on perfume bottles to mask any lingering odors. In my personal opinion, I feel like Cole at times doesn’t do any personal hygiene habits.”

“Unfortunately the manor doesn’t give too many opportunities to bathe. You get out of a game, then you are put right into another one. I get the time during certain hours of the day. Of course, that is usually a sign that I will be going against a more…viscous hunter.”

“Due to how those hunters can be, most of my time is spent making a plan for myself. I don’t even get too much sleep, now that I think about it.”

Cole laughed to himself and widely smiled. It seemed as if he was feeling anger, despair, and even a bit of happiness at once.

“I suppose that is the price to pay for immortality, isn’t it? You get to live for years upon years and see people of generations that believe you to be lost in history. All of that, for the price of constant fear and torment. Hm, luckily most people go numb and get over those feelings after a while. I truly pity those who do not.”

“As for the thing about ash and gunpowder, that is quite the funny situation. You see, it usually is my teammates who have that smell. Poor Damien, it seems to have had a…permanent affect on him. At least that didn’t stop him from achieving his dreams. I wonder if I helped him with that at all?”

Cole then started quietly laughing to himself again.

"Hm, I have to think about that. There are many options and ideas to choose from." He grabbed his chin and thought for a bit before speaking. "How about a skull with long brown hair connected to it? Maybe you can place a white dot and put a brown dot in it right under the skull." His eyes were burning with anger but it did not seem like it was aimed at her.

so how have you guys been doing after the group split? still talk with the others from time to time?

"The Group Split…?"

[K pondered, his eyes narrowing.]

“We weren't really a cohesive group to begin with, but even then, it doesn't feel like we exactly split up. Rather, it seems like we've become preoccupied with our respective lives,"

"Even if our gatherings have become infrequent, I can't shake the feeling that someone, something, is keeping a close eye on me.”

Cole then spoke. The expressions of disdain and disgust were very clear on his face.

“The group split, huh? That is not something I expected to be asked about. I wouldn’t say we were ever a group or team perse. So to answer your question, no, I can’t say that I talk to most of them at all. In fact, at least two of them have practically gotten a restraining order against me. Perhaps I should have done the same after getting all of these scratches and bruises."

On a scale of 1 to 10, how easy is it to kill Cole Straub? Asking for a friend.

[K would only put his hand on his chin, taking quite some time to fully think about the question. After possibly a minute, K would then come out with an idea, carefully weighing the possibilities in his mind. His thoughtful approach ensured that his ideas were well-considered and insightful.]

Unlike Kazuya, Cole didn't think too much about his answer. He spoke pretty much as soon as he saw the letter.

"Nice try, woman of the streets. I am afraid that you will have to be smarter with your next line of questioning. I don't believe we want a repeat of last time, correct?"

Kazuya has then prepared his answer right after Cole finished speaking.

“Well, depending on the situation, Detective Cole would only have a one in ten chance of evading my pursuit. His survival rate in such scenarios is quite low….”

Cole was not so pleased by Kazuya's answer. If looks could kill, he would be a corpse with an entire M60 magazine in him.

“……”

[K Would then shout to his side.]

“Cole, where the hell did you get this letter…?!
