Q 11- Where do they live?

The moonlight illuminated the room in a soft and cool light, the boy buried under papers. I sighed. He always fell asleep too early to put himself into bed. I picked him up, cradling him. He was light, light as a feather. I set him down into the bed, covering him in the quilt, and going back to the computer.

Where do we live?

"I suppose we live in what most call the Slendor manor, during the winter. The rest of the time, we live in a small tree house. I live with Smiles, and I continue to write." I answered for him.

Smiley: What are your thoughts on Sally?

Smiley looked up at me, wiping his hands on the apron, and pulling off his gloves.

"You always do this at the most inconvenient times. My thoughts on Sally?"

The boy thought for a moment, idly eating the peppers he had cut.

"I dunno, she's very much younger than me. I mean, I guess she's interesting to be around here and there, but I'm not a big fan of kids."

"Funny of you to say, considering you're a kid yourself." Tim grumbled, taking a hand full of the peppers and popping them into his mouth.

Smiley tensed, and went back to cutting peppers.

Smiley: How did you become a proxy?

The boy looked up with a scared expression, as he quickly put his mask back on. He hadn't heard that phrase since he had first joined, and it was a hard thing to think back on. Normally, he wouldn't even think of answering such a question. To him, it was absurd, to think of personal issues when there were more world wide issues at hand.

I tell him he doesnt have to answer, but rambling about the insignificance of ones' own problems is harmful to ones' self.

He rolls his eyes, and starts signing in his stiff, robotic manner.

"It was long ago. I was only 13, my freshman year of highschool. Everything was a normal day for me. I got into a few tussles for reasons I won't describe. I did almost everyday, and I was always on the losing side. I had my one friend, Weston Black, and a couple of acquaintances.

"But that day, Weston had detention. He wasn't a very good student, and if you looked at anyone in our school and had to choose someone who looks like proxy material, it would be him. [REDACTED]

"Long story short, one of the worst bullies, [REDACTED], chased me deep into the woods, and cut my tongue out. Later that night....

He trailed off, his whole body shaking.

I reminded him that if he was uncomfortable, we could just not answer this ask right now, and save it for later. He thought for a moment, and nodded, curling up next to me.

The boy approached me the next day, taking them off and handing me the laptop.

I asked if he was sure he wanted to continue. He nodded.

"Later that night, after years of that... thing.... watching Weston and I, it saw my broken spirit. It saw weakness. It saw how exploitable I am.

"It used me to kill my mother. I loved all of my family dearly, and when I saw my hands covered in blood I ran. I ran for months, blacking out randomly and finding dead people around me."

He finished, and walked out, head low, mask on, and silent.

<I might look into the files, later. Give a more complete story, when he is ready to consent. For now, I consider this to be a win. Maybe I will succeed.>

Smiley: What have you been doing lately?

Name- Garry

Appearance- A small black doglike creature with an animal skull, tentacles and human like hands.

Personality- Naive, non threatening.

Notes- N/A

Unfortunately, while the legends do tell of this creature, it just acts as you would expect a dog to. Nothing worth sending anyone out for. This appears to just be some sort of mutation.

Smiley: Who's your favorite and least favorite residents of the mansion?

The boy looked up at me, squinting at the harsh light. He fumbled around for his glasses, grunting and moaning as he shivered out of his blanket cacoon.

"Don't you have homework?" He signed, clearly irritated that I had woke him up.

I repeated the question again.

"My favourite? Hmmmmm.... Probably Eyeless Jack. Sure, he's a cannibal, but he never aims to kill anyone, and he likes to teach me things. It's like the big sibling I never asked for. Can I go back to sleep now?"

I reminded him that there is a second part to the question, as the boy groaned again. He stuck his tongue out at me, and I'm sure that he would clobber me if he wasn't so tired.

"Least favourite...... not sure, It's definately a tie between Jeff, Jane and Laughing Jack. I find Jeff and Janes' rivalry absurd, and Jack isn't friendly to children. The perks of being sane, still being terrified of insanity it's self."

He pushed me out, and slammed and locked the door.
