All of her lore under the cut ( warning : it's like 6 pages longs in my notes app , grab yourself smth to eat . )

Let's start out with childhood this time. She was raised by her mother and father in a financially stable home and got a good education. However, she was raised strictly. Being late was unacceptable, a grade dock was forbidden, and any alternate gender expression was the devil. Her parents were very transphobic towards Delilah when she was younger. She had to do sports , she had to have short hair , and she absolutely had to find a girlfriend or else she would die alone. ( This is how Veronica and Delilah's relationship ties into each other, more on that later . ) None of those drilled into her head. She doesn't feel the need to follow the " gender norms " ( bc yk she's Trans ) or the need to find a romantically partner , unlike how Veronica does . Because of how strictly Delilah's parents raised her to always try and be on top , she still does that , and it always causes problems . The prime example is creating V2 . ( I recommend reading these in the order they were posted , you kinda unlock more lore about the others as you go . ) Delilah was not educated enough to finish building Vee , which made her feel lesser . She thinks every employee in Gardenview mocks her behind her back about how she couldn't complete a simple task and had to have someone finish the job . She became a little envious and jealous of Veronica . She tries not to let that get in the way of work, though , don't worry, it's not like a big part of her day she thinks about it . But even though Delilah wants to improve Vee now that there's more technology , she subconsciously wants to surpass Veronica's work . Yes , she designed V1 and V2 , but something about having everything ready and not failing and having to step out would give her closure . She also kinda wants to impress Veronica and get her validation , but it's very deep done under neath all of her baggage and the alcohol she consumes throughout the day . Yeah, Delilah's a little bit of an alcoholic , each morning, she takes a shot of whatever she has left over , she doesn't want to feel any complex emotions during work . But she does admire and appreciate Veronica's work . Oh, and I was feeling silly, so I orphaned Delilah ✌️😜 Both of Delilah's parents ended up dying of lung cancer because they were chain smokers. Delilah isn't really emotional about it , she was too busy pulling legs off daddy long leg spiders to get an attachment to them when she was little . Delilah isn't a smoker , she's aware she's already destroying her liver with alcohol and doesn't want to add on top of it .

This might sound shocking , but despite being the creator of all the toons , Delilah doesn't really have any Familia relations with them , not even Dandy . Well , Dandy is sort of an exception , he's the only toon she has an attachment to . She doesn't see the other toons as her children or anything , they are just her creations . Originally , Delilah wasn't supposed to create more than just the mains and a couple of popular side characters . But the process of creating these living and breathing creatures fascinated her . She started to have an obsession with creating them and the process of it . It's tedious work , and she loves . Arthur accidentally encourages it because he also loves to create and draw , so whenever he makes a new character for the show, Delilah holds up the paper and goes, " You know what would be funny ? " Even characters that Arthur planned to be simple background characters eventually was turned into toons , Delilah loves fleshing them out . This doesn't mean she doesn't love or like the mains or other toons and neglect them . She does , and she would never neglect here creations , she loves them but not in a parental way that most people portray . Delilah has several chemical burn scars on her feet , calves , hands , forearms , and left collar bone region . This is from ichor expirment accidents and because she didn't feel energized enough to follow proper lab safety . These accidents always occurred whenever she wore her pajamas, and no one was there supervising or assisting her . Some days , she shows up to her lab , hair down , in Cocoa bunny slippers , pajama pants , and her usual jacket . Arthur has a trigger alarm that goes off anytime she takes any emergency equipment out of its casing or if the emergency shower gets turned on . It's occurred too many times, and Arthur is terrified. One of these days, he's going to find Delilah dead in her lab .

Delilah and Devan are second cousins , which is how he got the job . Whenever the mains and at most 2 other toons were made , Arthur was getting stressed because it was hard to watch them and set up Gardenview , and Delilah was too busy to supervise them as well , which led here to invite Devan to help out . Devan was the one that came up with the toon handler ideas , and eventually, the other toon handlers were hired . Little silly fact, but Devan is banned from Delilah's lab unless she is feeling nice . Anytime she had him in there to help out or be there in case of emergency, he could not keep his hands to himself , so he's not allowed on there . The only other people allowed or invited to the lab is Arthur , Sam , and Veronica .

Erm , heyyy it's been a bit art wise , however, I've been cooking behind the scenes . The cooking ? TOON HANDLER AND FOUNDERS CONTENT 👅👅 This will be a series , and ofc were starting out with my number one baby girl , Veronica Hurley . And if you read it fully, I'm kissing you on the mouth /plat ( and I will marry you if you ask me about my hcs /plat )

Huge ass ramble under cut

First topic, what's her relationship with Vee? Out of all the mains and their handlers, I view them having the strongest Familia bond, like really, really tight. Veronica was the one who completed Vee . Originally , Delilah was building Vee without any help , however, Delilah did not have enough experience in the field of robotics and mechanics , so she hired Veronica . Veronica was never supposed to be a handler . But Veronica developed an attachment to Vee during the building process . She viewed this little machine as her own . When Vee first powered on , Veronica was still there to make sure there were no complications . Which , there definitely was a lot of complications , it was like taking care of a child with a low immune system . Little Vee would not leave Veronica's side unless it was to play with Sprout and Astro . So when Veronica thought it was time to leave and her job was done , she asked Delilah if she could actually stay and make sure nothing else goes wrong , and Delilah had planned to hire her as a handler , so things worked out . Something that makes Vee and Veronica mother daughter bond is the fact that Veronica can not have children , and she's always wanted to be a mother . Building Vee was her version of having a kid . She'd tried having kids , but it ended in miscarriages . The worst thing about it is Veronica never had anyone there to hold her when they happened . Which brings us to the topic of Veronica's love life !!! Yay !!!!

Veronica is aromantic , she just has no idea she is . Her parents raised her to believe that if she had no romantic partner, she would die alone , this is drilled in her head, unfortunately . So , she actively searches for dates . She also doesn't know she's a girl kisser ( VERONICA . VERONICA LISTEN TO ME VERONICA PLEASE OH NO SHE CANT HEAR ME <- I scream into the void as if I didn't make this lore myself and don't have the power to make everything sunshine and rainbows . ) but yeah, whenever she had a break day, she usually would meet up with a guy, and they all never work out . The main reason being she's always talking their ear off when they ask her what she does for a living . Don't worry though she usually waited until like 7-8 pm to go out, she didn't just leave Vee all the time , she actually uses those free days to do things with Vee they usually don't get to do by the end of a work day . But whenever they don't work out, she usually stays wherever they went , and has some wine , and sometimes too much . Sam gets a call from Veronica to come pick her up each time . ( Sam is always prepared , they know how all date nights go . ) Veronica , by the time they got back to the center , is crying and sniffling pathetically about her love life to Sam .

And Vee witnessed this a lot . If Sam didn't have the time to stay with Veronica , Vee would watch her . Sometimes Sam would walk up to Vee and tell her , and Vee would find Veronia on the couch crying herself to sleep . Vee usually brought a blanket and would cover Veronica up and tell her good night before going to plug herself in and recharge for the night. The hangover was always rough for Veronica, too , especially if they had work the next day . Whike at the bar, she knew she would have work, but she couldn't help herself .

Vee does view Veronica as her mother , even tho she will never admit it . Vee doesn't want to be viewed as vulnerable to her peers , the only toons that she calls Veronica mother , mom or a other word of a parental title around , is Astro , Sprout , and Blot . Vee eventually warms up to calling Veronica mom aroun like Glisten , Shelly , and Brightney . Veronica knows this and is fully aware , even though Vee doesn't tell her this . She tries not to let it get to her , but it hurts her sometimes , she feels like she's not good enough of a mom . Especially because Vee doesn't need Veronica's help with almost anything , she has all the knowledge in the world . Something that hurts the most is that Vee doesn't come to Veronica about her feelings , or at least doesn't talk about them . The only thing Vee really does that is close to it is sitting with Veronica and either napping or yapping . Yes , Veronica gives Vee head pats and scritches . Live laugh love Vee with cat behaviors . Just sitting with Veronica helps Vee with any complicated emotions or bad days .

A small ding chimed from Vee's speaker as a notification popped up onto Vee's screen. "Warning, close to curse limit." It read. Vee huffed heavily. Apparently, Veronica DID install the curse limit she had warned she would.

"Never grew out of your stupid appearance." Vee teased while Blot gave her a glare. "And you can't grow, so you've always been your same boring casing." They teased back. Vee's antenna twitched, being reminded about earlier.

Blot's face lightens up at the mention and sticks one of their limbs into its ink before pulling out a little blob with a piece of paper taped to it. "Doing just swell!" The little blob creature that perfectly resembles Blot starts to make little noises and wiggle around.

Vee lifts her head from underneath the pillow at the sound of the noises. "You just. Keep it in your ink??" She questioned.

"Well, yeah,it's hard to keep track of– Pfft, stop that." Blot Jr. squirms to try and escape Blot's hold. After a moment, it gives up and blows raspberries at Blot. "You're getting better at that."

Looey from across the room put two and two together. "OH! so the glitterbomb made your bad day." They beamed.

"He's just catching himself up. Be nice."
