Hello! i am kind of confused on an aspect of the furry fandom. If everyone loves animals so much, or claims to, then how can they still eat them? It's like they only like the cute fluffy ones, the dogs and cats and horses and foxes etc. then they turn around and eat chickens and cows and pigs and what not. Just seems extremely hypocritical to me and has kept me from officially identifying myself as a furry for awhile now.

Interesting question,It all comes down to your personal values and beliefs. For example, I am not a vegetarian. I eat meat, but I only eat certain meats. I eat family farm meats, so the animals are slaughtered in a clean setting, and our family are hunters, so we eat many game animals and birds.Some, may be freaked out by this mannerism- but my personal belief is that we were made to consume animals. I believe we are all connected- some Lion King stuff if I dare say. I strongly believe in the circle of life. Tigers eat other animals, birds eat other animals, we eat other animals! It all works out! I would probably not eat a dog- as humans have an emotional capacity that animals do not. This can be argued however- as there are research studies that show some animals have close bonds with what is considered prey. Such as a dog protecting their owner's rabbit. Usually, this only occurs in captive settings.What I personally do not agree with, is the cruel slaughter of animals- in mass production meats. If you would like further information on that subject, you may Google it. I prefer not to talk about such horrific details.Anyway, again- it's all up to you and your personal beliefs. Everyone is different, but I wouldn't seclude yourself from the fandom. :)Mookie

I recently stumbled upon this small comic that told the story of a furry registering for a sort of online fandom. He quickly made friends, indulging in social and at times nsfw activity. He even found relationships. I've been interested in the world of furries for some time but have never really entered any sort of community. The type of fandom and activity portrayed in this comic really seems like something I might need in my life. Could you recommend any sites that could help me indulge?
