Tell me what book your bertrum would want to discuss at the book club! :3

Hear me out:

Bertrum having his own book club with members from his friend group at the country club. 

A group of elite men gathering for brunch discussing Pride and Prejudice with thoughtful/provoking insight into the plot and characters. Scheduling whose house they’re going to meet at for a dinner party to choose that month’s new book and having high tea at The Plaza hotel and meeting new members.

  Bertrum making finger sandwiches and mini desserts to serve at the meeting while making sure to have two types of tea because everyone has a different taste.Then him getting overly passionate about a character in the book and  going on a long speech about how he relates to the harsh challenges that the character in question faced.

Thought that I had after watching a romantic movie, one that I think you’ll like @bertrumstrousers: 

Bertrum forgets his anniversary one day because he has a park opening and lacie gets the maddest he’s ever seen her. Bertrum tries to think of the one thing that will show lacie he loves her then the idea comes to him one night.

He then goes to rent a team of construction workers. 

A week passes with Bertrum not coming home and worrying Lacie until she finally gets a call from him, telling her to come to the park. She’s reluctant at first but after Bertrum pleads with her she relents and goes to meet him. She’s met with an incredibly disheveled and exhausted looking Bertrum who takes her up into a helicopter he had rented with a pilot. 

Then he tells lacie to look out the window and when she does, she begins to cry because the sight that greets her is incredible. 

Bertrum had made the construction crew move all of the smaller rides in the park to spell out the words ‘I love you’ that was visible in the air. 

Bertrum says “Building this park with you was a labor of love but I wanted to show that I love you more than my work. I’d move the sun and the stars if I could but for now I hope that this will do.” 

 Lacie gives him a kiss while laughing and they land before going home hand in hand. ToT

Are we ready to talk MEDICINE and how it relates to THE EFFECTS OF BEING SHOEHORNED INTO A CARNIVAL RIDE well we are now! This is all from my AU which is why I have thought about it too hard msbdjxbdn

After his escape from the Whipper Bertrum gets saddled with a couple different ailments as a result of the constant spinning—the most outwardly noticeable is disembarkment syndrome, a condition caused by extended periods of time in motion suddenly being interrupted. If you’ve ever gotten off a boat or plane and felt like you were still floating/flying, you’ve experienced disembarkment syndrome. Severe DS usually manifests as a loss of balance, fatigue and headaches, so Bertrum is incredibly unsteady on his feet after his escape. Poor dude spends a lot of time sleeping.

The more bothersome to him however is his benign paroxysmal positional vertigo. For those who haven’t experienced vertigo before, spin in circles real fast and then stop abruptly—the feeling of spinning when you aren’t is vertigo. BPPV is a condition that causes sufferers to experience vertigo if they turn their head wrong, stand up too quickly, nod, essentially just make a subtle head movement that their inner ear doesn’t like. It can be incredibly intense and debilitating to the point where any head motion is completely impossible without sending oneself into an agonizing spinning sensation while standing completely still.

Escaped Bertrum suffers from both of them simultaneously which makes getting his bearings and just functioning in general incredibly difficult for several months after his escape until his inner ear starts to compensate. Thankfully Lacie’s more than willing to give him a hand but she made it quite clear to him that she can’t guarantee she’s going to be able to catch his 300lb chonky self if he loses his balance. After a few too many trips down the stairs Bertrum resigns himself to the fact that yeah, he probably needs a cane.

All that said Bertrum spends a large portion of his first few months post-escape dozing on the couch and desperately trying not to lose his bearings with a poorly-timed head turn. It does eventually abate to the point where he can live with relative normalcy again but he’s still more susceptible to bouts of dizziness than the average person.

Lacie puts up with a lot.

Since I’m still awake here’s a lacie headcanon:

Lacie likes to go for walks at night. She has a hard time sleeping at night mainly because she’s so used to working late and when she feels restless Lacie puts on her boots then goes for a walk with their dog Carousel. She likes walking up the hills that the city has because it keeps her awake and she gets a little exercise from it. The part of the city where she walks is quiet at night and she goes to the dog park where Carousel can run and play without other dogs trying to jump on her. Lacie sits on the bench under the cherry blossom tree and smokes just watching the city lights. 

Also post game when she’s the bendy bot she still goes on those walks through the studio then stops off at bendyland so she can watch the lights on the ceiling, remembering the stars and how Carousel would jump and play.
