Obsessions -
For those with Aspergers an interest tends to be all or nothing. It’s either absolutely not interesting, or utterly fascinating.
Some obsessions are about focusing all attention on a specific thing to shut out a noisy and overwhelming world.
The difficulties only really start when an interest tips over into an obsession. At that point, what may be a coping method for complicated problems starts becoming a problem that complicates life in its own right.

“It’s legitimately hard making friends if you’re on the autistic spectrum. I don’t watch tv, listen to the radio, have an interest in football or cars. So what am I meant to talk to people about? My interests. But people don’t always want to listen to me either. So you see there’s a gap.
