You mentioned that Claude was your first FE fan art, so I was wondering, did you also ride the pipeline of "FE3H was my first FE game and now I have Jugdralitis"?

that's a sensible step ive not thought of before!! they both have such well built worlds, i see how that happens :)

i did it a bit roundabout: i tried getting into fire emblem in 2017 with 7, 8, and 11 but never finished any of them </3 i was clearly determined to make it work, but it didn't really stick at first

the first game i finished was awakening in 2019! i didnt get around to 3h til 2022 but i did play genealogy within a year after so i ended up on that pipeline after all HAHA

do you like drawing Seliph and the other kids with gradient colors in their hair (from their mothers)? I've always liked pink-haired Leif, but I didn't think much about lavender-haired Seliph until now. But it fits him

i do!! i do this with most of the gen 2 child units as long as it isn't too obtrusive :) it's a nod to which pairings i did in fe4

these are some unfinished doodles from two years ago that i still occasionally reference for hair colors!!

for child units with set parents (minus altena) i'll always include their other parent's colors (peep dark roots ares!)

(altena is excluded to look more like arion; i like the idea of arion -- altena -- leif being almost like a gradient of features)

otherwise, it depends on how much the color stands out/would deviate from their canon design. a blue gradient larcei is easy to sneak in, while a green lana would probably not look very good, haha (though for those i tend to do eyes)
