Fixes

Ok, turns out I had uploaded the wrong files to The Monster Within. I had streamlined the scenes a bit and replaced them in the old dashingdon demo and did not remember. And those were the files where I had made most of the fixes. I have uploaded those files now, so there should not be any more trouble with the demo. Any other bugs, you guys let me know.

hi! i hope you are having a good day. i was trying to give monsters within a reread but unfortunately i came across a small bug that wouldn't let me progress when i choose tawny brown skin.

ep1_prologue line 39: Invalid string, open quote with no close quote: "tawny brown

Sounds like a missing quotation. Will check it when I can and fix it. Glad you love it.

If anybody here is interested in my writing, I've started writing dc supergirl fanfic. It's part of a friend's universe.

Hello everyone and welcome!

Greetings! As the title of this blog states, this is a blog dedicated to my fanfic that I made because I like being organized like that.

Earth 101 is a fanfic alternate DC universe created by my friend, TheAgentMan, in AO3 as a way to tell his own types of versions of the characters he loves. As a fan too, he invited me to contribute to it with my own takes of what I want to see in the dc universe and so here I am. Although it is a continuation of one of his fanfics and I make references to it, I try my best to also keep readers in the know about what happened in the previous fic. Of course if you wish, you can still hit his fanfic to catch up as it is complete. Do note our prose styles are wildly different.

Unstoppable Supergirl takes place after his own Earth 101 Supergirl fic where Kara was moved to Smallville to stay with the Kents and learn to live on earth. After losing a dear friend at the end of the previous story, Kara gains a new one with the resident delinquent girl of Smallville, Mara Strong, and together Kara slowly starts finding herself at last while also struggling with numerous villains and antagonists in the once quiet Smallville.

I consider the fic a work in progress and whatever feedback you can give me will be great as well as simply sharing your opinions. The more in depth, the better. I'll try to keep a consistent schedule of at least two chapters a month if I can't keep it to one every week.

What happened.

Ok, so I'm sure some of you who are still here might have been wondering what happened to me in the years since I disappeared. The long and short of it is I got burned out. I stayed dozens of times wondering how write certain parts and staring to a blank screen that I grew to dislike my time spent working on them. On top of the fact that coding is such a detail oriented work, I kept hitting wall after wall of what to do cause every single new idea and choice I came up with, meant hours of coding and testing. And chapters 2 of each wip asked for a bigger choice pool compared to the first chapter. So I just shut out and life took over. More and more I kept putting it off until today and here we are.

Short explanation because I don't feel like going into too much detail. I feel I owe you all being straight forward with it and not fish for sympathy. The eventual lost of dashingdon was a wake up call and I could not just stay quiet and let my wips be erased without people revisiting it as I know, even unfinished and only one chapter in, people enjoyed them still.

As to what I'm planning in the future? I've gotten back to writing a bit. Even wrote and directed a short film last year. I'm also taking things slowly. I still have the stories I intended for each wip in my head. I haven't forgotten them. In fact, I think I'm much more mature now compared to then and feel I can do a better job now. But we will see. I will make no promises as I fear breaking them, but I'll give these two some love again. We will see what life entails. See you all later.

Hi, it's been a while.

Hello all three of you who are still here. It's been a long time. Almost two years since if my memory is still as good as ever.

I apologize profusely for the disappearance. A lot of things happened one after the other that took my focus away. I wasn't also in the best headspace back then. I've gotten better. Been taking better care of myself now. But back then the insecurity, personal life and the difficulties of writing these wips plus burnout completely destroyed whatever motivation I had to continue and I just wanted a break from feeling guilty and ashamed I had become exactly what I did not wanted to be. So for that, I am sorry to all of you.

Now to the reason as why I popped up out of nowhere; dashingdon is shutting down by the end of the month. A hundred thanks to the creator and owner of the site for hosting so many wonderful demos and doing their best to keep it up. I understand it has reached a point where they can't keep it up anymore. But that put us in a situation where suddenly we have to rush to find alternatives. I feel this knowledge would have been useful on the 1st or 2nd, but I digress. Thankfully I still have the original files of The Monster Within and The Last Laugh in my google drive. And the suggested alternative is a site called cogdemos. But from what I've seen it's not friendly on mobile. Already tried to access a random demo there on my phone only to be met with an error message. I think we can all agree there's a huge section of fans who play their wips on phones so it feels like a big oversight. But that's the cards we have for the moment. I will see if I can learn to use itch.io too as well and host both of my wips on both sites to avoid something like this ever happening again.

As to what I will do with the future, I'll figure it out eventually. I don't promise anything on account of not wanting to break any more promises, but I'll see what I can do for the future. Might post about it later. Good day to all.

Hi, I really liked your story "Monster within" it was the first thing I read from the adult content category. The way you escalate the atmosphere in the first chapter, and especially in its first half, is simply amazing, all the time I had a feeling of constant tension, as if everything always weighs by a thread. And about the scene when parents find out about the grades, I can talk for hours. First of all, I want to praise you for not smoothing out the corners, domestic violence in this scene is described terrifyingly, I literally pressed myself into a chair and could not take my eyes off the screen. Secondly, the way you bring it to this deserves separate words of praise, then how small harbingers by the type of change of facial expression and tone of voice in the mother slowly bring us to the impending horror. But not only is your game good with an oppressive atmosphere, but also with bright moments and characters. Characters again, this is also a separate topic for conversation, each of them, whether he is at least a minor motel owner or one of our pack mates, each of them has a bright kind of archetypal character. Cassandra is an archetype of a leader or a protectionist, that is, she is ready to do anything to protect the main character and other people that are dear to her, or Tatiana is a sub-archetype of a loner, a person who distrusts anyone and tries to stay away from people, and Caleb is a tragic archetype of a person whose life changes coardenally against his will, as a result of which he is drawn into fighting with his brother. As a result, summing up this, I want to answer your statement that you are stuck on the second episode and cannot move on due to uncertainty in the plot and fear of plot holes, I want to tell you not to worry, we are your readers, fans of your work and we will always be glad to everything that you write and also happy to help with finding and eliminating these very plot holes. The most important thing is to create and enjoy it.

I really want to praise you for your feedback. I wish I could pin this without unpinning my wips list post cause I want to read this every time I wanna get ready to work on something. But I settled it by copy pasting it to a document. 😁.

I really want to thank you for this feedback. It's honestly one of the best I've gotten. I like detailed things like this that nail down every single thing in my work. Maybe has to do with me binge watching video essays and analysis on youtube about my favorite stuff, but this resonates with me a lot.

A lot of thanks for this. Really. It means a lot. Especially with the long time that has passed with both of my wips. I haven't given up on them yet though. And this is more encouragement for me to keep going regardless of time.

Apologies for taking so long to answer. Been hella busy with some movies.

I haven't sat down in a long time to write either of my wips but I still think about what to do with them and how to proceed. Not the answers many might want but that's what it is for the moment. You could say they're on a hiatus. But I never really stop thinking about them. I just don't know when I will finish them. My hope is if I can finish both chapters 2 of both wips eventually, i can get out of the rock I'm stuck in and continue since chapter 2 seems to always be what I struggle with the most in my works. Will let you all know when I finally update them.

Can I ask what is happening with monsters within?

My classic "stuck on chapter 2" problem that I'm starting to think it's an issue with all of my projects. At first i think that the first idea of chapter 2 that i have is great or good enough but as i write it I'm suddenly getting caught up in plot holes or stuff that doesn't make sense or big plot events i have no idea how to connect and if i don't connect them, the pacing will feel rushed.

Add to that that I'm trying to open this next episode up just a little bit more so it doesn't feel as railroady PLUS the coding i have to do for each of those deviations. Apologies for falling into that pattern again. I know you guys have been waiting for ages. 😔😔😔
