Where I've been and & where I'm going
Where I’ve been and & where I’m going
It’s been over a year since I’ve last posted, and a lot has happened. I last posted December 1, 2020 with a Top Ten Tuesday post, and then disappeared off the face of the earth. I wasn’t posting on here, Instagram, or Tiktok, and I barely got on twitter. I’ve never been a very consistent poster to begin with, but this time I have a very good reason. Let me set the scene. I started 2021 off with…

November TBR
Hello hello beautiful people. I am once again back from ghosting the book community on every platform outside of Tik Tok (follow me @rashellreads). I also ghosted my bookshelf, and I am now suffering the consequences. I am paying the piper to the tune of being 15 books behind schedule, and 26 books left in my overall challenge. It’s shameful, I know. I desperately need to catch up. This is also…

Week Two
I did not read anything during week two. At the beginning of week two, I got a called that  my great grandma had passed away, so I was not focused on reading last week.

My Summer TBR + Readathons
My Summer TBR + Readathons
Hello all!
May has been totally crazy, and I am so ready for it to be over and for summer to start. I decided to switch it up and do a summer tbr rather than a June and July tbr. This is simply due to the fact that I am participating in back to back readathons and there are way to many books that overlap for them, and trying to do separate posts will be confusing.

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words,
What do you have to do to join in?
It’s pretty simple….all you have to do is answer the 3 W’s:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you will read next?
Link your blog in the comments at Sam’s weekly post and then go blog hopping to find out what others are reading!

If you know me in real life, then you probably know that I love to spoil my dog. I’m talking about a trip to Petsmart for dog food ends with me at the register with 2 new shirts and 5 new toys. Granted, I do try to shop clearance, so at least I’m not paying full price. I also buy pumpkin and other goodies to put in his food, because he likes his ‘yummies’ and they help to aid with digestive health and skin and coat. I even went as far as to make an entire jar of homemade dog treats to go with the 2 bags of treats he already had.
Bruno, at about 4 months old and 9 pounds and 6 inches tall, loves anything he can get is tiny mouth on. I mean ANYTHING. Because of this, I try to keep him stocked up on toys to keep him entertained. Now, anyone that has a dog knows that toys are not cheap. I try to stock up on clearance toys, but even those aren’t broke girl friendly. When Easter ended and Walmart had their stuffed animals 90% off, I snatched up half of the display in an attempt to get ahead on toy buying. I also bought Bruno the small bags of Carry Outs dog treats to tide him over until I could get him some better nummies.
This is where Bark Box comes in. I’ve played around with the idea of subscribing to Bark Box for a couple of years now, way before Bruno came into the picture. My parents have a bulldog and 2 Saint Bernards that love toys. Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough money to get 3 boxes a month for them. They also destroy anything they touch, even the super strong kong toys.
When I saw that Bark Box was doing a special Scooby Doo box, I knew that I had to get it, more for me than for Bruno, if I’m being completely honest. I used to collect anything with Scooby on it when I was a kid. I did some research, and decided to get the 6 month subscription for $25/month. I found a coupon code online and got $5 off of my order.
Bruno is a mix of 2 different toy breeds, so I got the box for dogs up to 20 lbs. I also chose for his treats to be grain-free and chicken-free, because he has allergies to some grain and chicken products. I really liked that Bark Box gave you the option to choose your dogs specific dietary needs, as well as size.
There were some issues with shipping. My delivery date kept getting pushed back, but I can’t fault Bark Box or the shipping company for this. I knew when I ordered his box that there would be delays due to Covid.
Overall, I loved this box and so did Bruno. It came with 2 toys that crinkled and squeaked, as well as 2 bags of Scooby snacks and a snack rope.

The Bro Code by Elizabeth A. Seibert
Rule Number 1: Leave no Bro behind
What happens when you have to choose between love and friendship?
It’s not something Nick Maguire has ever had to worry about.
He’d never betray his best friends, Carter and Austin, by breaking ‘The Bro Code’, and he knows they’d never do the same. They’ve got each other’s backs.
That is until Carter’s sister, Eliza,…

WWW Wednesday 6/13/2020
Hey guys! Since getting back into the book blogging community, I’ve found that I enjoy 2 things: readathons and weekly memes! I’ve recently been partaking in Top Ten Tuesday, and now I’m jumping on the WWW Wednesday bandwagon. I don’t read enough books to do a weekly wrap up, so this meme is perfect for keeping you up to date on all of the books in my life.

Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli
Sixteen-year-old and not-so-openly gay Simon Spier prefers to save his drama for the school musical. But when an email falls into the wrong hands, his secret is at risk of being thrust into the spotlight. Now Simon is actually being blackmailed: if he doesn’t play wingman for class clown Martin, his sexual identity will become everyone’s business. Worse, the privacy of Blue, the pen name of the…

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme brought to you by That Artsy Reader Girl. It was previously hosted at The Broke and the Bookish.
This week’s topic is: Things I’d Have at My Bookish Party (Choose 10 things: items, accessories, foods, people (real or fictional), decorations, activities, etc. You can also choose a party if you’d like: book launch, book club, book-themed wedding reception/birthday party/bridal or baby shower/Anniversary, book event, etc.)
It’s time for a visit to Pinterest!!! For this prompt, I’m kind of straying away. Rather than a party with a focus on books, I will be focusing on what I believe should be everyone’s favorite show: Gilmore Girls. Rory loves books, so I’m pretty sure I can get a free pass.

May TBR + May Readathons
May TBR + May Readathons
Hello all! If there’s one thing I learned about myself over the last month, it’s that I really really really love readathons. I’m pretty good at leisure reading, but readathons really motivate me and they help me find new books to read.
There are a TON of readathons happening in May, and I am hoping to join a couple of them. Because I don’t know what readathons I will be able to join or not, I am…

10 Books I Wish I Had Read as a Child
Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Books I Wish I Had Read as a Child
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme brought to you by That Artsy Reader Girl. It was previously hosted at The Broke and the Bookish.
This week’s topic is: Books I Wish I Had Read As a Child
As a child, I loved to read. However, I was the kind of kid that reread the same books over and over again, because I had loved them so much. I started to branch out around 3rd grade, when my family moved across…
