TBH there's this trend within the trans community especially on this site where a lot of people are white perisex trans people who only really interact with white perisex trans people who they deem trans enough by whatever metric. Often times this is like people who are trans in the exact same way (so like trans women primarily interacting with JUST trans women, trans men primarily interacting with JUST trans men) and not a lot of positive and regular communication with people that do not fall under this group. A lot of these trans people are ALSO athiest which sometimes leads to weird interactions with religious trans people!

And it kinda shows in how insane some of the shit you people say that you have never considered the existence of people of colour, intersex people, or people who are trans in just a weird way (either just on its own or because their gender is linked to their race/culture/religion and/or intersex body) in what you consider "objectively correct facts about trans" that are just your opinions on discourse and what it means to be trans or prominent issues in the trans community

Like i know this seems wild but it happens! I've seen it happen multiple times! Multiple instances of white perisex trans people just saying the most insane shit to other people because they just don't talk to or listen to other trans people who aren't exactly like them.

It's how we get those posts where, whenever someone points out that while all trans women being oppressed is objectively true, a lot of white trans women have a tendency to martyr themselves when the biggest victims of anti-trans violence are usually trans women of colour, people call the op transphobic/transmisogynistic.

Its how we get trans people commenting that they wish they were intersex because it would make being trans so much easier on a post where an intersex trans person was venting/seeking comfort because they wanted various surgeries especially ones to change their genitals but were worried they would not be able to get them because their genitals had been "corrected" when they were a child without their consent.

It's how we get people boldly saying shit like "i wish i was indigenous because then I could be 2spirit and people wouldn't disrespect my nonbinary identity because they'd be racist" to my friend right after they had complained about an encounter where they had experienced racism for being indigenous

It's how my friend got told they couldn't be agender because they were black, as if being agender is a special white only thing and their blackness means they have to have a gender for some reason.

It's how we get people insisting you have to be either transmasc or transfemme and you can't be transneutral when there are tons of reasons why someone might be transneutral, like them not considering their nonbinary gender far from their agab or being an intersex person who considers the fact that their intersex body was never meant to fit into any binaries is important to their gender or for quite literally just because they just don't want to use any other labels to describe their transness.

It's how we get posts that genuinely have the words "trans men are not oppressed" written on them in complete sincerity where the op believes that if you disagree with that statement and don't think only certain trans people are actually oppressed you hate trans women.

It's how we get other trans people saying actually insane shit about trans women that are like a step away from TERF rhetoric completely genuinely who refuse to think critically about what they just fucking said even if you point it out and insist you're insane for thinking that maybe trans women aren't inherently bigger assholes than anyone else.

It's how you get people insisting that nonbinary identities aren't real and that being nonbinary is either just someone who's a cis person faking being trans without going all the way or a baby trans who hasn't fully figured out what their REAL gender is.

ALL THESE ARE REAL THINGS I'VE SEEN! MANY OF THESE MULTIPLE TIMES! THESE ARE ALL THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED FOR FUCKING REAL! THIS ISN'T JUST ME MAKING STRAWMEN I'VE SEEN THESE THINGS AND OTHER THINGS THAT WHILE NOT EXACTLY THE SAME SCENARIO WERE VERY SIMILAR!

That's insane! You people are insane! Oh my god listen to other people for once in your life! Talk to people that aren't like you! They don't even have to be trans! People who consider themselves cis may tell you things with a lot of value. You might tell them things with a lot of value. I'm begging you to take into account that your lived experience effects your opinions and views of yourself and others and that different lived experiences changes the views of others and often times there isn't just one good correct opinion on things.

And this isn't to say this is a trans community exclusive issues. This issue arises in a LOT of areas of the queer community but I find that on tumblr at least it's trans people who are the most blatant that they just don't talk to people different than them often.
