Happy Mother’s Day
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom!!!
I want to thank you for all the hardships you have gone through for the sake of my siblings and I. I thank you for being there with us and supporting us even though you are always busy but you always make time for us. I thank you for loving us and never giving up on us even though you’ re tired you always try to communicate with us. We love you mom for taking good care of us and to be able to grow up under your guidance. We love you for giving us the love and the warmth that we will always remember. And;
We love you very much for being the best mother in the whole world.
My siblings and I will never forget the love and affection that you have given to us. We hope that in the future we will be able to repay you for all these and more. In addition, we hope that we will be able to make you proud of us.
With lots of love,
Your children

The movie “Lion” is based on a true-life story drama. It was directed by Garth Davis, while it gets a bit confusing in its second half, but altogether a vigorous and touching film, one that touches variety of topics, starting from poverty to adoption to the persistent longing for a sense of belongingness that is felt and desired by most human beings.

The movie starts in 1986 in Khandwa, India, where five-year-old Saroo Khan lives with his mother and siblings. On a disastrous train trip to look for work, Saroo and his older brother, Guddu, are separated, and this leads to Saroo ends up on a train that carries him 1,000 miles from home, to the busy city of Kolkata. The first half of Lion was upsetting and sad, and it depicts the times when Saroo was all alone on the streets, almost preyed upon by sinister individuals with undoubtedly even more sinister motives, until he is finally brought to an orphanage. From there he was sent to Tasmania, Australia, and adopted by a doting, childless white couple. And a year or so later, the couple adopted a troubled boy named Mantosh and soon Saroo’s past in India began to fade away as his new life in Tasmania continue on.
The way the movie was staged allows for two competing sentiments. One, of course, is that of Saroo’s time of being lost to his brother, mother and sister, and to the life he was born into. He was a child who fell through the cracks in a vast and often unforgiving country, and that is a great tragedy. But on the other hand, Saroo’s quality of life, in terms of safety, shelter, and possibility, is remarkably improved in Australia. Therefore, the life story of Saroo is both a tragedy and something more hopeful. However, he was rescued, but also stolen away.
That contradiction comes to surface on the second half of the movie, when Saroo become older: a man in his 20s whose life has been largely comfortable, but who has an intensifying desire at his heart. When at a party in Melbourne, a memory was triggered in which he was able to remember a recollection of his life in India, and because of this Saroo is determined to track down the family he lost. The amazing thing about the real-life Saroo is that he eventually found his hometown mainly by using Google Maps, trailing train routes and distances until stumbling upon some scenery he recognized. The movie is focus more on Saroo’s moodiness and internal struggle. His emotions are certainly reasonable, but in the movie, all this brooding, becomes repetitive.
Still, the story of Lion is pretty amazing, and heart touching for it features a final reunion that, I think, would warm even the coldest of hearts. The film is shot beautifully. Saroo is torn between homes, between lives, and the movie effectively communicates that tension. But, the story gets played over and over again. Eventually you just want the movie to hurry up and get Saroo back to India.
The movie is largely about the Indian people, but the one that strike me the most will be the adoptive mother of Saroo because of the scene in which she explains to Saroo the reason why they chose to adopt, and that is beyond the teary reunion, the very emotional centerpiece of the movie.
Regardless, the movie Lion is well worth watching and appreciating. It’s an earnest and emotional movie, one that let us see the world for what it was and not the world that we are sheltered from, and its alternately grim and encouraging complexity. In addition, it reveals the significance of the movie’s title as the movie arrives at a perfectly poignant little button at the end. I, honeslty speaking, have cried during and after the movie for it really touched my heart and I hope that this movie touch the heart of the people who watched or will watched this.

The movie Short Term 12 was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. The story began in the foster-care center for endangered teens whose troubles run the scale from depression to substance abuse to self-mutilation. This movie originates from a place of delicate and truthful situation in which it allows the humanity and the decency of the characters, lessons included, to shine through naturally.
For me, the one who shines the most amongst them is Grace, a formerly troubled teen who, she, herself now hopes to serve as a guide to others. As the magnitude of Grace’s painful and sorrowful past is revealed to us one by one, it makes the story all the more interesting and I had become more immersed in watching the movie.
At the start of the movie, Grace appears to have attained a comfortable balance between her professional and personal lives. She handles the everyday routine of the place alongside with the volatile emotional outbursts with the same kind of cool confidence. Furthermore, she also has a loving and playful relationship with her longtime live-in boyfriend, the unkempt, vulgar Mason, who works alongside her as a supervisor at the center.
However, the imminent departure of one kid and the arrival of another shake everything up for her. Tough and intense Marcus is about to turn 18, which means he'll have to leave the home. In addition, Marcus acts out during his final days in the home instead of confronting his future because he is frightened to make a way for his own. An irreligious and deeply felt rap song he wrote detailing his life of neglect and abuse.
Marcus overlaps briefly with the impolite and withdrawn new girl, Jayden, who keeps on insisting that her father is coming to get her soon so she refuses to make any friends. One of the subtle beauties of "Short Term 12" is that the way it intimately depicts how the counselors find ways into these childrens' lives and connect with them. Like what happened with for Grace and Jayden, it is through the shared love of drawing. But Jayden also uses her art to disclose the truth about her home life, as a result, it stirs secrets within Grace that she'd fought hard for years to suppress.
This turmoil comes at a time when Grace and Mason are trying to create something lasting for themselves: a home and a family of their own. The unsureness Grace finds herself feeling, and the way that emotional shift shatters Mason, are both believable and heartbreaking. In the movie, it shows how much care and kindness the two gave with the intricacies of the daily routine like the doling out of meds, searches for contraband and forced recreational activities like Wiffle ball games and so on, as they do with the larger issues that plague their lives in flux. The movie also infuses with unexpected humor as the kids hassle each other alongside their supervisors on the road to healing.
The movie Short Term 12 may be a kind of extreme compared with the real life but it is closer to the reality of what is happening in some part or all over the world. We may not see it in our lives but surely in the world where most of us are sheltered from... this really is happening. In short, this movie depicts how people react, make decisions in the situations they are in. It really makes me realize how I am so lucky compared with other people and that I should treasure what I have in my life. It really is a wonderful movie and I like to watch it more. It gives plenty of lessons especially with the characters of the movie.

The movie WONDER directed by Stephen Chbosky and written by Jack Thorne, Steve Conrad, and Stephen Chbosky follows a child diagnosed with Treacher Collins Syndrome trying to fit in to his environment.

In WONDER, August "Auggie" Pullman is about to begin the fifth grade, after being homeschooled by his mom, Isabel, for how many years and marking it as his first time being in school with other children. That would be very nerve-wracking on its own, but Auggie has more to worry about than the average new middle schooler and, of course, taking in consideration that this will be his first time interacting with other people who are of the same age as him. In addition, being born with a genetic abnormality, he has a significant facial difference that could cause or make him an outcast and one of the reasons for him to be bullied. Twenty-plus surgeries in his short life have left him able to hear, see, and speak like other kids, but he definitely doesn't have the looks of a kid. And since he can't wear his most beloved astronaut helmet all day long at school, he is forced to face them all in person. It is far from easy with kids of the same age as him calling him names ("Darth Hideous," "Gollum," “Freak”) and bully him, and even his parents can't talk away the pain. But Auggie isn't the only one facing hardships: His older sister, Via, feels like their parents, Isabel and Nate, scarcely pay attention to her since Auggie needs so much from them. His new friend, Jack Will, genuinely likes Auggie but doesn't know how to speak up and defend for him in school. Via's former best friend, Miranda, seems tough on the outside but is dealing with difficult family issues. And even the bully, Julian, has his own set of problems. As Auggie navigates his first year of school, he and all the people around him learn to think more of others and find their own happiness by themselves.
This movie, for me, is very earnest, sentimental, and sweet especially in some situations I am able to connect with the characters of the story. I have learned plenty of life lesson from watching this. Furthermore, this movie also take note of the usual happenstance in school and in society especially when faced with the things we do not understand or the things that are different from us and other people. We are not able to remove in our human personality to judge a person basing it off in his/her looks but we can try to withhold our judgement and get to know them by ourselves. On another note, I especially like the older sister, Via, for her understanding and mature behavior because I know that not everyone can withstand all that neglect and not be jealous with her sibling for being the center of attention especially starting at a young age. She also tries her best in supporting and helping her brother and also her parents even though she, herself, has her own set of problems.
Because of this, I can conclude that this movie is one of the most heartwarming and emphatic movies I had ever watched especially when some of the scenes in the movie can happen in true life.

Hi everyone! It`s a great day isn`t? Hope everyone is doing fine right now. Well, hello again guys, this is Asuka Iwaya, 18 years of age and currently studying at Saint Paul University Philippines taking Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Strand as Senior High School student. This is my first time in the blogging community and I hope you all can advise me on what I can do to improve my blogs. Furthermore, I am not good on making essays so I just going to enumerate the things about me.
Information about me, I, and myself is that:
• I am a half Japanese and half Filipino. My dad is a full-blooded Japanese and my mom is a pure Filipina.
• I was born in Nagoya, Japan. My birthdate is March 02, 2000.

• I am currently living with my mother in the Philippines and have 2 little brothers. The older one is a 7-year-old while the other is a 3-year-old. They are both very adorable but little bit annoying. (But still love them to the fullest)
• I am an animal lover but I am scared of insects.

• I am at times not good at speaking and sometimes people misunderstood it.
• I am prideful at times….(okay a lot of times)
• Sometimes have my own world…. Well maybe all the times??? Don’t know I let others be the judge of that.
• Cannot live without the internet!!!
• Want to be a doctor (Hoping for a bright and peaceful future)
• Always loyal to a fault unless someone does something that make it otherwise ( a little bit of Percy Jackson and Harry Potter’s hubris ) #CampHalf-Blood #Hogwarts
The things that I like are the following:
• Family and friends (My very first priority)
• Reading books, novels, manga/comics and fanfictions. (Whether online or offline)
• Animes like Akame ga kill, Naruto, Fairytail, Onepiece, Baka no test, Prince of tennis and more. I usually watch comedy, shounen, martial arts, slice of life, adventure, fantasy, and sports genres but I am open with others so if you want to recommend something I am up to it. To be exact just recommend me more animes to watch #ILoveAnime
• I love to draw, sketch, or doodle. Especially anime characters…. I am not good with it but I at least uplift my boredom. Speaking of relieving my boredom I usually listen to music or watch the television or browsing the internet.
• Capturing pictures (depends on my mood) …..usually it is about my surroundings like the sunsets, clouds, the moon, mountains or the foods mostly desserts.( I am a glutton and have a sweet tooth )
• The TRUTH even though it hurts LOL

The things that I don’t like are the following:
• People who are very exaggerated (they are a little bit annoying especially if you get the full brunt of it)
• Disloyalty (I hate traitors!)
• MATH!!! (My head feel abused with it)
• Too much noise (More like people talking so loudly with each other sometimes yelling)
• People who are STEREOTYPES
• Sometimes Liars (cannot avoid that)
• Backstabbers
I am not good at figuring what I don’t like so if anyone have a question just ask me I am open with it.
The things that I needed to answer:
Where do I see myself 10 years from now? Was my learning in SPUP vital to where I’m heading to?
I see myself finishing up my education in medicine while doing the kind of work that I will love. And while I, myself, find it difficult and keeps on complaining about my school but, for me, all the things that my school have taught me whether indirectly or directly, are important and vital for my experience and development as a person. Later on, in life all the things that my school had taught me will be useful to the future and will be utilized well.
Was STEM the best choice after all?
The STEM strand is the best choice for me because it is the most connected strand to my course that I will take on in the future. This will help me lessen the things I will have to learn in the future. In addition, it also gives me more resolve to study more in advance and be better.
What course will you take in college? Why?
The course that I will take on will be Pharmacy because I want to learn about the medicines and what kind of effects that these medicines will have to the patients. I also want to learn what are the components of the medicines that makes them cure or lessen the symptoms or sickness of the patients, and more.
What topic would you like to learn more in this subject(E-Tech)?
I am not sure what topic I would like to learn the most in this subject but I would like to learn things that are related to creating and destroying viruses, and also retrieving files (all kinds) in case my gadgets get virus.
P. S. Sir, what is your most memorable memory as a teacher?
