i choose to interpret sonetto's voiceline "I will pray for you... Sorry" as that she grew up in a strongly religious spot whether or not she's still religious is irrelevant because when she was young the beliefs some of those around her had was pushed onto her so frequently and so hard that its kinda drilled into her at this point, when she says "I will pray for you" it's out of habit, its not something with any negative intent, she's still piecing together what was/wasn't normal regarding the belief she was taught growing up, she apoligises after that moment because she it takes her that moment before she realises/remembers that saying things like "I will pray for you" is often rude or coming from a malicious place (or a "I'm trying to convert you" place), she apologises because she does not fully agree with the idea of forcing beliefs onto others, she may be stubborn but as she grew up she may had disconnected from the belief she was taught; the belief wasn't something she chose, and the more she thinks about it the more she realises she doesn't even know if she believes

I love fic!sbi. They're completely out of character from their dsmp counterparts, their smp earth counterparts, and their cc counterparts. 90% of their personality and design is fanon. Nothing in canon implies the sort of found family relationship they have. In any other fandom this amount of mischaracterization would be abhorrent, but I think it's beautiful here. They're like OCs that have been built by a community of minds and artists over the years that truly have a passion for these characters. I don't know; there's just nothing else like them.

I totally agree with the horn thing, I was thinking Marcille might have a horn kind of similar to like Rarity in Friendship is Magic, while the "pureblood" elves would have a horn like Mistmane. Build-wise I'd imagine Marcille / half elves like Fleur De Lis but "purebloods" more like Mistmane.

After looking at it a while maybe swap it around but unicorn horn on Mistmane and Mistmane horn on Fleur De Lis I'm having a moment because I can't tell because why is that pony wearing clothes

And thank you! I really wanted to figure out how Falin would work with the chimera stuff because MLP is so picky about chimeras ^^

little ramble spoilers im autisming LONG TEXT WALL

ok so tall men = earth pony and elf = unicorn

in this i first assumed that the 'unicorn' gene is dominant because we know marcille is a half elf she definitely shows traits but doesn't look exactly like a "pureblood" so I'd assume this would fit in with one of those AUs where "pureblood" unicorns are crazily elegant (slender, long horn, magically gifted/obviously had more magical affinity than hybrids, etc).

But if we apply that then we have to think about what gen they'd be so we can determine magic stuff, I'm only familiar with two gens those being the Friendship is Magic one and the new one. Out of these two generations it would only make sense to assume they were part of the new generation, why? Because Falin is a magic user by blood, and if we don't assume they're of the new generation, then I would be inclined to believe Falin and Laios had a unicorn (or other magical species) ancestor somewhere back, as of course most magics in MLP are passed on by blood, and we know that Falin's magical affinity is something that came on naturally and is likely genetic.

Now if the unicorn gene is dominant that would mean that if we went with a unicorn in Laios and Falin's ancestry it would be pretty far back, and 'hybrids can't have kids' but you're forgetting THIS IS MLP NOW! Many fillies and colts are hybrids in MLP, HOWEVER it's rare that they show external signs of that (pretty sure Flurry is the only one that has a hybrid phenotype while the others just got the lame genotype and no proof until you look at their family photo album).

So with that we can instead say that it's likely with marcille (since she appears to be more like a unicorn, but is not a "pureblood") that it would be just like the manga/anime, one parent was unicorn (elf), one was. idk what her other parent was tbh but you get the deal my special interest is MLP I just like DunMeshi normally. So marcille is unicorn/whatever hybrid, thus why she had many unicorn traits (horn, slender legs, magical ability, etc).

Now back to Falin, Falin's magical ability if we assume we're in MLP:FiM is going to be;

A. Genetic or B. Sourced from an artefact (element of harmony, grimoire, other magical jewellery/items, etc)

If it's genetic that would mean there is a unicorn (or other magical species) in her ancestry, however other than the magic, she doesn't show any traits.

Now in the anime she becomes a chimera, however chimeras in MLP seem to be very strict on the "big cat + goat + snake" rule and doesn't appear to have magic, so instead, what else is an amalgamation of species? The draconequus, taken from the Greek word 'drakon' for dragon and the Latin 'equus' for horse, in other words? 'Dragon horse'. And falin becomes a dragon chimera. It only makes sense she would be a draconequus. Now as shown by Discord in MLP:FiM, a draconequus can shapeshift, why am I mentioning this? Because in this idea, Falin and maybe Laios both have a draconequus ancestor, draconequus magic is arguably incredibly strong, so it would have survived being passed down many generations in a state of magical dormancy. Now we see the scenes where it seems falin first used magic, I can't remember it that well but it involved that ghost guy, so what if the encounter with that ghost early on had been enough to stir the draconequus magic within her? That awakens her magic, later on when she is resurected (she still died because of a dragon because why not)? At that point the magic has been active within her for years, maybe a decade even, the magic that she has interferes with her physical body now, because she had cultivated and cared for her magic, her magic is strong and during resurrection it influences how her body reforms, she now presents outwardly as a draconequus.

Laios? His magic may have woken, but he certainly had not cultivated it, so no cool draconequus form for him, he looks like a normal earth pony. He has the magic but it won't affect his body aside from maybe a very slight strength and/or healing boost (barely different from a regular earth pony).

Clusterfuck, this is a case I'm not fully certain on yet, my first thought was a breezie because they were the first small and still technically pony species, but I'm not sure that fits. If I think more I do remember at least one breezie who honestly did have a very similar attitude to him, but half-foots as a whole don't fit breezies. Someone else figure out what half-foots are for me.

Senshi and other dwarves, dwarves both look strong and are strong, personally I think that kind of fits a donkey but its not a firm fit so tag me if you have any better ideas.

Ogres have a large build and are very strong, compared to ponies I'd say a horse fits that well, specifically a Shire, as they are known to be large, tall, and strong. If you don't like that, ogres themselves are canon.

Gnomes have a similar but softer build to dwarves and are shorter, if something fits that I'm not really sure, but I sure think based on their culture description, that they live in harmony with nature spirits and borrow from them, there are a few things that give a similar vibe, the first, the kirin, though their magic is definitely self-made, so we'll go by the second, zebras. We only have one big zebra in the show, Zecora, but she definitely practices magic without the "magic blood", which from the culture description I would say fits quite well with gnomes.

Now for demi-humans or in this case perhaps they would be demi-ponies?

Mermaids/sirens/fishmen? Merponies and sirens.

Kobolds, now kobolds according to the wiki have different vocal chords so can't speak the common tough very well/it is very difficult for them to. Rather than this, I think the easiest way to pony-fy that is to call them a kirin, the kirin took a vow of silence, the kobold don't speak common tongue much and from watching the anime and reading the manga they don't really speak much at all. I would like a better fitting option though, perhaps diamond dogs? In FiM, diamond dogs have very scratchy voices so it definitely seems they have troubles speaking the common tongue, but that could be coincidence, either way, diamond dogs are intelligent canines like kobolds seem to resemble, so I feel it fits a bit better than the kirin.

Beast-men? Probably whatever furry-type thing Capper is, the wiki said Capper is just an anthropomorphic cat so yeah, beast-men are just furries.

Orcs? Umbrums maybe, don't know really, you tell me.

Other species quickfire time.

Starting with the obvious, kelpies, dragons, changelings, jackalopes, krakens, cockatrices, phoenixes, gargoyles, griffons, minotaurs, sea serpents, hippogriffs, demons, basilisks, wyverns, golems; none of them change, all of these species are canon in MLP.

Ghosts? Ghost ponies.

Wurms? Tatzlwurms.

Dire wolves? Timberwolves.

Shapeshifters and doppelgangers are both changelings.

Flying pigs? Pigasus.

Dungeon rabbits? Vampiric jackalopes.

Ghouls and hags? Thrown in with ghosts honestly.

Fairies? Breezies.

Giant frogs, huge scorpions, huge spiders? All the regular animals with a size increasing spell.

Wargs? Dogs are close enough.

The winged lion? We know he's a demon HOWEVER he takes the physical form of a manticore.

Regulus is the type of friend to notice Vertin is really proud of her newly assembled model train and offers to modify it so it run along the walls in the lobby. Vertin (handyman) sets up the rails , Regulus (technician) modifies the train, and the two complete a cute project together.

Regulus is also the type of friend to point at a raccoon in a dumpster with a sardine can on its head and say "Look, Vertin! It's you."

I think Vertin might be a tactile person.

Here are examples taken from the voice lines and context clues.  This isn't an all conclusive list of touchy interactions, just what I could find. Someone stop her before she gets hurt. Update: I'm going to keep adding on as we find more interactions together because this is really fun.

Sotheby (hat and hair): Stop it! You can't just touch an adult's head! (She is 13. Vertin probably sees her as a baby and pat her head).

Bette (hands): Ha ha ... They might be a little rough. To tightly grab the eave does require abundant practice. (assuming Vertin is holding her hand. Don’t ask me how we got here.)

Rabies (clothing and torso): Straws ... be hugged. Rabies ... feels it. (she hugged him 🥹)

A Knight (hat and hair): One step further, and you will be in close contact with Someone's nose... As long as you can hit Someone's head. (how close is Vertin standing to the AK? Or maybe she was looking for an invisible head to pat.)

Mesmer Jr (Hands) :Compared to the incurable anxiety, these wounds are minor. Oh, watch your distance. (smh Vertin not everyone likes being touched.)

Melania (hat and hair): "Well done. Please keep on." ...Aren't you going to say that? (more headpats but Melania needs vocal praise too.)

Clothing and torso:  Feel awesome? Now it's my turn to pet you. (...what is Vertin petting? This is clothing and torso but I'm lost.)

Hat and hair: You should be grateful that I am too lazy to move now. Or you should know that the first-class pilot’s got a first-glass head-butt, too. (Vertin taking advantage of the moment to give headpats. I'm telling you, its a THING)

Leilani (Hands): Shaka brah! Ooh! Do you want a handshake or a high-five, my friend? I'm fine with either! (She’s so wholesome)

Cristallo 

hat and hair: Are you patting my head? The doctor says, this is a reward for good children. Have I done something right? 

Hands and sleeves: Would you like to hold my hands? I could be with you anytime. (Cristallo is weak and frail. The nurses say she could be blown away by a gust of wind. Despite this she says she’ll be with Vertin anytime. To me it reads as Vertin being worried Cristallo will disappear too. Cristallo notices so she offers to hold hands and says she will always be here as a way to comfort her.)

Darley Clatter

Hat and Hair:  Oh ... I can't deny you are really good at patting.

Clothing and Torso: Take a look at my beautiful muscles! I don't need to explain how fabulous I am. Hey, watch out! Rub me in the direction my mane grows.

Bonus Intimacy : Adorable? Ahh? You don't even have a taste! (Vertin pets him and calls him adorable. Darley, don’t let the girlies know. They might end your noble bloodline.)

Pavia (Hat and Hair): Wanna know how many holes I've made on others' heads? No? Then stop it. (What possessed her to give Pavia headpats?)

Dikke (hat and hair): Thou art overstepping my boundaries, arcanist. (I’m guessing Vertin is at it again with the headpats. Dikke smiles when she says this so she isn’t offended. If anything, she seems amused. )

Eternity (hands and sleeves): Go on, try holding it, and feel its temperature rising in your hand… Easy, sweetheart… take it easy, heh heh… (more hand holding but Vertin wasn’t prepared this time)

An-an Lee (hands and sleeves): What? You want a palm reading? (Vertin, why are you like this? Are you randomly touching people's hands?)

Regulus (hands and sleeves): What do you want? I don't have any spare scratch. (I'm sure she knows you're broke since she's your boss. Vertin's just being Vertin at this point.)

Vertin leads Regulus by the hand into her Suitcase in the prologue

Blonney (hands): Interesting! It's been a while since I last met someone who would start with holding hands.

She also holds Blonney's hand as she calms her down during the green lake event.
