Feigning ambivalence, she restrained any reaction as the older man cupped her skull in one hand and steadied her torso against his shoulder. She eyed the wire and pliers and let out a tepid chuckle, “Probably don’t even know what you’re doing with those things.”

The jibe lost its edge with the nervous tremor in her voice. Some long forgotten instinctive fear despite logically knowing she wouldn’t feel much if anything. Doomhead hummed, pressing his hand to the front of her throat as the sharp point of the wire punctured her bluish flesh. She tensed a moment from the pressure.

“Daddy will be gentle, don’t worry.”

“I…” If she could have flushed, she’d have got beet red. But even without it, the killer could tell he’d caught her off by the catch in her throat. She stumbled to recover, closing her eyes. “Don’t be a perv.”

“Killers are fine, but perverts are where you draw the line?” He mused, pulling the length of wire taut before leaning over her shoulder once more. “Interesting.”
