Cassie laughed, and nodded her head. “Ok, let’s go get food.” The two of them had almost like a twin telepathy thing going and could always tell when one needed the other. “We haven’t really talked about it, but I was thinking of like, a reception for family and friends, with your decorating expertise. I also told Remi and Abi they could help decorate the nursery. That could totally be a girl’s day thing. But yes, food. Burritos sound good..as do fries”

“A girls day of nothing but decorating? I could totally get behind that.” Aurora replied, a bright smile in place as she did. Was she amused her best friend, and basically her soul sister, had gotten married without her help or presence? Nah. But she understood it and now wasn’t the time to give her a hard time about it, jokingly or not. “Burrito’s and fries it is! If they don’t have them both, I’ll get them to make them.” Ro commented, scrunching her nose as she placed her arm around Cassie and headed away from the room in search of food.

It wasn’t often anyone got the upper hand on Finn but the last guy his boss had sent him after had decided to fight back. In the end Finn had gotten what he was sent for but he’d also gotten a few bruises and a black eye to go with it. He had to be at the bar tonight and if he was going to make it he needed coffee. Lots and lots of coffee. He walked into the coffee shop and headed up to the register. “I need the largest black coffee you can manage.” He grabbed his wallet out of his pants before looking up and freezing upon seeing the person behind the counter. “Aurora. Well we just keep running into each other.”

After a seriously long morning, and even longer afternoon, Aurora was ready to head out the moment her schedule said she could. However, One of the girls had called in saying she’d be a little late - which left Ro stuck behind the register taking and making orders instead of heading home. She wouldn’t outwardly complain, but she wasn’t amused. She felt like she’d jumped back in time to her barista days, instead of being the manager she truly was, and it wasn’t a pleasant feeling. Nevertheless, the blonde plastered a smile on her face and did what needed to be done. That was, of course, until she heard an all too familiar voice once again. Keying in the order, she waited for him to look up while another girl got to pouring the coffee. “Well hello to you too, Finn.” She quipped, shaking her head. “In my defense, it’s all on you this time. I’m just doing my job here.” She replied, a soft laugh escaping her. “That’ll be $2.00, by the way. “

She chuckled, and nodded her head, “I was just about to get some food.” The blonde was forever grateful for Aurora and knew she would be lost without her. They had been friends for what felt like a lifetime. A good one though. “We got married by the way, a couple days before the accident. Don’t worry, I was planning on telling you after we kinda let it set in for us and then the accident happened and my mind was elsewhere.”

"I know you do, C. And he will, I'm sure of it." She assured her friend, hopeful smile upon her lips. "Then let's go get you some foodles. Cause he's so not going to get up and get me for being an accomplice in your lack of nutrition." She told her with a small laugh. Raising a brow at her friends confession, the blonde simply shook her head. "I'll wait and scold you both for that later. For now, let's focus on getting you taken care of and getting him to wake up."

Finn laughed and nodded. “Thanks, love. I’ve been here a few months now. Relocated for work and what not. You know how it is, always on the move. I don’t stay in one place for very long. Though I think I might be here for awhile so it’s nice to have a friendly face.” Truth be told Finn hadn’t made a lot of friends since moving to this town. Mostly because he wasn’t exactly the friend making type and with his other job word got around and people avoided him. Especially certain types of people. But Aurora didn’t know anything about all of that and he planned on keeping it that way. He had managed to keep the darker parts of himself from her for a whole summer and he planned on keeping it that way forever. Leaving her with only the good bits that she deserved. He’d never been in love before, he wasn’t entirely sure he knew what love was but he had felt something for her and he wasn’t going to let the truth hurt her. He’d never expected to see her again and now that they were living in the same town things were bound to get messy.

Aurora nodded, chewing her lip as she listened to him. A nervous habit really. One she'd thought she'd kicked, but clearly not. "Oh." She spoke softly of hearing he had been in town a bit. It shocked her that she hadn't run into him yet. The town wasn't that big. But then again, she tended to stick to her schedule of work Cassie's then home. She didn't much do anything else besides work or visit with her best friend and her friends siblings whom she saw as family with the lack of her own. "Well I do hope you stick around a bit. At least long enough for me to give you the proper town tour. I know a lot of hidden places most people don't." She told him with a soft laugh, her fingers tapping the diary she held tight.

Cassidy was numb. She hated the feeling of not being able to help those she cared for. She was grateful for Aurora watching the kids but it still didn’t keep her from worrying about them. As much as she tried not to, she couldn’t stop herself from thinking the worst, and it ended in her being a sobbing mess. She hadnt eaten since Saturday afternoon and she knew Cassius would have a coronary if he had somehow ended up finding out. She got up and walked over to the door and opened it. Seeing Aurora on the other side, the blonde couldn’t help the wave of relief that came over her and she wrapped her arms tightly around her. Food could wait. “Oh thank God.” She spoke softly.

Hugging her best friend back, Aurora instantly knew she'd made the right decision in coming. No, She wasn't a fan of hospitals. But when someone you care about is stuck there - either as their own person or because someone they cared for was stuck there, you made exceptions. At least, The good friends of the world would. And that was something Aurora prided herself on being, a good friend. "How's he doing?" She inquired, pulling back to look at her friend. "And you missy, Really need to take care of yourself. He's going to have a conniption if he gets up and sees you like this."

Finn still wasn’t over the shock of running into Aurora here. Did she live here? He wasn’t sure if he knew that or not. It had been years so there was a lot he had forgotten. The details but other things were still clear as if they had happened yesterday. Getting over the shock of seeing her again he smiled down at her and released her from his grip. “Well this is an interesting start to the day. I wasn’t expecting to see you. But I can’t say that it’s an unpleasant surprise.” Even though it had been years since he had last seen her he had thought about more often then he would care to admit. They’d spent a summer together and it might be a bit cliche but those are the ones that stay with you. “Do you live around here?”

Just looking at him, had a lot of memories from a summer years ago flying through her mind. To anyone else, it might seem like a movie. Hell, She herself had even compared their summer together to a movie before. But standing in front of him, years later - so far away from where it’d happened, made it all come back to her so fast she questioned it’s realness. Once upon a time, She’d truly believed she loved this guy. But now? A mid twenties Aurora was a lot less sure of things than her early twenties version had been. Current her was also a lot less bold than she had been, and much more.. well for the lack of a better word, bashful. Hearing his words, the blonde looked down a moment before looking back up. “I wasn’t expecting to see you either.. Not after all this time.” She responded, “But I don’t believe it’s an unpleasant surprise either.” She agreed. Now that she’d seen him again, and memories were flying at her, it felt as if so little time had passed. She knew that wasn’t true, but it felt like it. With a nod, she pointed the direction behind her with her thumb. “I do. That way actually.” She answered, before chewing her lip and speaking once more. “Welcome to my home town, Finn.”

Though the accident had been a few days ago, Things still weren’t normal. Not for the Thomas’, therefore not for Aurora either. Since the day it happened - the blonde had taken to sticking around the Thomas residence more, in case any of the kids needed anything so Cassie could be with Cassius and not worry about her siblings so much. But today, Ro decided it was time to go check on her best friend in person. Also to see how Cassius was doing. She wasn’t really close to him, but he was nice and he was important to her best friend - therefore, he was to her as well and she surely didn’t wish him any harm. Making sure there was food out for the kids if they wanted it, Ro gathered her purse and keys then headed out. Not too long later, she was at the hospital and making her way to where she’d been told the room was.

finn-parker:

Finn was walking out the coffee shop not paying attention to where he was going. He was sipping his coffee and trying to wake himself up. Working from 5 tills 3 every day was rough. Not to mention the other work he was doing since arriving in Jefferson. The heat he could handle. Aussie was known for heat so he wasn’t too bothered by the temperature but some days it a bit much even for him without the cool breeze of the ocean he was used to. He was taking a sip of his coffee when he nearly bumped into another person. He moved his coffee out of her way in case any spilled as he used his other hand to steady her. “Sorry, that’s what I get for drinking and walking. Apparently I’m not a great multi tasker.” He finally looked up at her and froze when he recognized the girl in front of him. “Aurora.”

Completely absorbed in her reading, Aurora hadn’t seen anyone coming until it was too late. Though thankfully, between the fact that she’d worn flats instead of heels and their quick thinking to help keep her steady, she hadn’t fallen or dropped anything. Fully steadying herself, The blonde tossed her hair back from her face. “Apparently, But neither am I so it’s alright.” She replied, her eyes looking up to the male she’d run into as she pulled the diary to her and held it close. “Finn.. Um, Hi.” She greeted, a nervous smile upon her face. She hadn’t seen him in years. Or ever before in her home town. So this was a bit odd. Like a blast from the past. One she had never seen coming.

Having found an old box of things just the day before, Aurora was still shifting through it all the current day. Though she was keeping herself pretty available just in case Cassie or any of the Thomas kids needed anything after such a bad accident that did involve someone they all cared for, she still needed to keep busy. The cafe wasn’t her responsibility for the weekend, so that left her looking through old things. One old thing had been an old diary, from the end of high school into many years of college. Bringing the book with, The blonde journeyed out into town to find some food. Her home had none, and she was sure the Thomas’ probably needed some too. Though she drove, she decided to park at the end of the street and walk the sidewalk the rest of the way. Though being who she was, she obviously took to reading her book as she walked - paying no attention to her surroundings at all.

“I can’t believe I actually did it– No one’s ever scared by me.” She laughed, nodding as she listened to her. “I’m not silly, I see you here all the time.
