me, drunk in the club: the real reason the transformers movies turned out so bad, besides the rampant misogyny and us military worship, is because when they tried to repackage a piece of media meant for children for adults, they thought the best way to do that was to strip away the whimsicality and silly tone inherent to the franchise which makes the G1 cartoons so much of a cult classic today. in fact, transformers animated is considered one of the best of the franchise’s cartoons, and not only does that feature a young girl as the lead, it’s also one of the brightest continuities in regards to color and design, and succeeds in tone by not taking itself too seriously when the premise is transforming alien robots that can take the shape of earth vehicles and speak and earth language. in this essay i will
