King Vikram's Coronation: an intimate but beautiful affair

Five years after the war ended, King Vikram I was finally crowned today inside the Iredale Palace. Due to security reasons, the coronation was restricted to the Royal Family, the nobility, and a few other selected guests, though the Palace (and a few other sources) were kind enough to provide pictures of the event.

From the photos, we can tell it was the simplest coronation in modern times, though the attendees were anything but! Everyone was dressed to the nines and used the coronation to show off their sets of tiaras and jewelries.

While King Vikram was dressed in his ceremonial uniform, his wife and his sister came in matching cream gowns. Princess Serafima wore the traditional crown of the heir, the Princeps Coronet. King Vikram and Queen Isabella were also pictured wearing the Avalon Crown and the Iredale Crown respectively.

Interestingly enough, the sole representative of the House of Frostpeak was Lady Sarielle. She was seen arriving at the Palace on her own, wearing one of her family's colors: a deep red. The dress - complete with gold details - showed off her figure, and Her Ladyship finished the outfit with the Crimson Tiara, a ruby necklace, and a pair of ruby earrings.

Though her family has claimed they support the Rosengors, both her father, the feared Duke of Icebury, and her older brother were not seen at the event.

The Rosengors and the Frostpeaks have a shaky relationship at best. While the former has ruled Avalon for over a hundred years, the Frostpeaks have always claimed to be the oldest surviving noble house and the original holders of the throne. Most recently, they have been staunch critics of the way the late king handled the war.

Other well-dressed attendees include the Countess of Stonemoor, the Lord Warden of Esterbury and his wife, and the Duchess of Freykeep.

Though the duchess kept it simple, she wore the Freykeep clan's color, coordinating with her daughter. Even the High Lord of Freykeep looked dashing in his matching jacket and shorts ensemble!

Untitled attendees were also present, including Cilia Westbrook, Miles Hastings, and the Penroses. Julien Tyde, one of the wealthiest men (and some would say the most eligible bachelor) in the kingdom, was seen conversing with several powerful people, including the Earl of Esterbury.

Romantically, the billionaire has been rumored to be involved with Lady Sarielle, though sources say the two were not seen together at the event.

Like his father's coronation, there were no protests outside the Palace walls. Most citizens are hopeful that the newly crowned king would be able to achieve the arduous task of rebuilding the nation after the war.

One lady commented:

King Vikram has always had the qualities of a good ruler. I'm confident he can lead our nation through this rebuilding process and into even greater heights.
