AWWSD's Official Field Guide to Jeremikes

The Jeremike, sometimes called the Fitzafton to separate it from Jeremike 1.0 (though that term has fallen somewhat out of use) occupies a very unique place in the fnaf ecosystem, having literally no basis in the source material, yet also being sort of accepted as canon by a large portion of fans, and as such has great biodiversity!

There are many different species of Jeremike's, if you're curious what yours is, refer to this handy-dandy guide below, which also doubles as a mini fandom history lesson from someone who's been into fnaf for most of her life now. (disclaimer, this is all based on observation & seriously just for fun, + if you dont want your art used just lmk i will take it down)

Jeremike 1.0

The ancestor of all Jeremikes, this version is the earliest one I know of, and is also seen far less commonly nowadays. As far as I can tell, it's based on the art of fandom giant, Rebornica. Often, the Michael in this pairing is NOT Michael Afton, but rather Mike Schmidt, and Jeremy is not the bite victim. Mike is usually depicted as being older than Jeremy, which caused debate about the ship being potentially problematic.

Blonde Jeremy Jeremike

This is another very powerful example of convergent evolution in Jeremikes. Early popular fandom creators such as Pole-Bear (left...if you weren't there for that, I cannot emphasize ENOUGH the HOLD that Pole-Bear's designs had on people ) and Kosperry (right) chose to depict their Jeremy's as blonde when FnaF 2 came out, which just sort of seeped into the hivemind of the fandom. The power of Blonde Jeremy is immense, almost all modern Jeremikes take at least one trait from this list. In a Blonde Jeremy Jeremike, Michael is usually Michael Afton, since around this time Michael was being introduced by FnaF 3 and 4, and Jeremy comes to take on a more standardized character. Usually, he is blonde, from some west coast town, and is a stoner. He is also almost always the Bite of '87 Victim, though this development would come AFTER FnaF 4. There are many subcategories of Blonde Jeremy Jeremikes, which we will see below.

BlueyCapsules Jeremike

A direct descendant of Blonde Jeremy Jeremikes, BlueyCapsules Jeremike was a very popular & influential satirical fan comic from around the sister location/security breach era, that solidified all the fandom headcanons about Jeremy into One Guy, and canonically paired him with the comic's version of Michael Afton. When these specific designs are used, one is usually dealing with a BlueyCapsules Jeremy.

OCxCanon Jeremy

Despite its name, we can usually see a few traits of Blonde Jeremy Jeremike (a testament to early fandom art's staying power!!!!) , such as Jeremy being a stoner or from California, but for the most part, this Jeremy is the creators OC. The Michael of this is also almost always Michael Afton. This is the Jeremike that mine is, in case you were wondering.

High School Jeremike

A descendant of both Blonde Jeremike and OCxCanon Jeremike, here Jeremy and Michael are usually childhood friends/Highschool sweethearts. Often, Jeremy is identified with the Bonnie Bully. As far I'm aware there's no Canon basis for this, it just seems people associate Jeremy with Bonnie. Jeremy is almost always also the '87 victim, and tends to have amnesia and/or die.

Epilogue Jeremike

This Jeremike can have traits from ANY of the above species, however what sets Epilogue Jeremike apart is that this is a version of Jeremike who survive & remains together AFTER the bite of '87 and the scooping incident. They also frequently adopt either Gregory or Cassidy from Security Breach and are usually depicted as older men. This one has absolutely no canon basis, but IMO is a really cute way to incorporate them into the later games.

Sometimes I have to force myself to think about what similarities between Michael and William there actually are besides appearance. It really disturbs me how well this passage about William from The Silver Eyes can describe Michael in the FNAF 4 mini games.

What do you think the Aftons wouldve became if they all didn't die? i mean like do they do sports, music, future job/college? what would they look like or live?

As for the Afton’s of the Amnesty verse! I have........many thoughts……

So first of all, I’m gonna assume this is a universe where William is still a serial killer, just through a series of shenanigans, Michael, Liz, and Evan survive.

In my perfect world they all get therapy to work through their trauma and heal their relationships with each other but that is unlikely because all three of them inherited their father's stubbornness. So they remain a little dysfunctional, but also extremely trauma bonded!

Michael - Without the Bite (tm) he’d still be an anxious mess and a bit of an idiot, but he’d probably hide it a lot better with bravado.

I think his relationship with his siblings wouldn’t magically get better. I imagined his bullying of Evan to come from typical teenage insecurity. Hopefully he’d mature out of it, but without the Bite as an inciting incident, I think it would take a while. Maybe precipitated by William’s arrest, as all the siblings have to reevaluate their childhood and relationships to their father and each other. He still gets to be friends with Anise, Susan and Bart!!!! Forever and they don't have a falling out!!! yay <3 support network <3 (he'd probably end up dating Anise for a while just because that's what you're Supposed To Do with the girl you're friends with, they both hate it, within a week Michael realizes he's gay, they break up and immediately go back to lovingly bullying each other. Everyone they know is very confused by this series of events.)

He’d definitely be better at drawing, without that 4 year hiatus—I don’t picture him ever going to college so he might’ve stayed in Hurricane and worked at Freddy’s to save up—he definitely still wants to leave town, but this time because of the bad memories rather than social stigma. I always imagine him settling on something quiet, maybe administrative where everything is clean and orderly and he doesn't have to worry about nasty surprises and none of the problems he deals with are life-threatening because that's all he really wants. He illustrates in his spare time, maybe he draws pictures for Evan's stories.

If he does end up heading west I like to imagine he and Jeremy still get to meet :3

Elizabeth - (I already have the most evil au in my head where just Liz and Michael survive and it follows like the fallout of their relationship after the bite....Liz blaming michael and being afraid she'll end up like him....maybe i will write one day but it lives in my head and torments me....)

As the middle child and only girl of two brothers, Elizabeth is always seeking attention. She bounces around from interest to interest, (today she wants to be a marine biologist, tomorrow an astronaut) but she throws herself into her passions though, however brief they may be. I also just think she's a nightmare of a child in general, on account of being the favorite, but she gets over that for sure.

She’s the closest to their father out of all the siblings, so his arrest would probably hit her the hardest. Without Evan’s death she probably wouldn’t have an especially close relationship to Michael either. I think she’d be fairly extroverted, play lots of sports, be in a million clubs, and would probably have a solid network of friends so hopefully she’d have a good support system.

She'd DEF go to college, and major in somethin like criminal psychology. She just wants to understand, yk. Maybe she'd be a therapist, whos to say. I think she's the only sibling who'd end up returning to Hurricane, she still loves her dad and has fond memories of growing up there. But with Elizabeth Afton on their side?? Hurricane doesn't stand a chance, that place is becoming a goddamn utopia.

Evan/CC- I just think he'd always be sort of quiet and withdrawn but as he grows up it becomes a quiet confidence rather than anxiety. He'd totally have a network of close friends that he's had since forever. Definitely a more sensitive soul lol. His relationship with his siblings is distant, but he definitely has a complicated relationship w Michael, idolizing him but also being a little scared of him. I think he'd follow Michael's footsteps and be an artist of some sort, and I have this image in my head of them being really close in their teenage years. Just Evan being a mini-Michael, like "hey remember when you used to bully me asshole. You should really pay for dinner :)"

He'd really love writing, more than drawing probably and maybe he'd write like a semi-successful children's series about a plucky young detective in a small town. He'd probably move somewhere on the east coast, I just think he'd vibe with a coastal town. Idk he's the hardest to come up with HCs for bc he's a baby and hasn't displayed much personality.
