Fact one: Hunter would absolutely want to master a skill that gives him more autonomy in the human realm.  

Fact two: Hunter has never had to deal with gravity when it comes to learning how to ride on something.

He’s obviously not comfortable with talking about his problems, it makes him fidgety and nervous. Probably because the environment he grew up in wouldn’t let him.
