Nearly done...

I’m about to finish my spatial design studio_bath house project. It has been fun and spectacular semester and my first year as an art student. I’ve learnt a lot from three lecturers and peers. It was my pleasure to learn new things every week. And realise that there’s no right answer in design/art, everyone has diverse/ very much interesting ideas with different perspective. Self-directed study is necessary and essential for design/art students. At first I was afraid and worried when I saw past year students’ excellent work because I had no idea how they came up with such a quality work. From that again, I learned. Even though I wasn’t confident with what I was doing but I give it a go. But it worked!! well at least that’s what I believe I worked really hard😭 and I think I made lots of improvements while practicing, exploring and getting into a fire. It was really fun and difficult year working on many assignments and projects.  Thank you Rafik, Xavier and Yana for amazing class every week👍. Well done to everyone!!

Since Level 4 and 3 lockdown, couldn’t use school computer and had no Rhino Vray so I decided to use photoshop (tried my best to give atmospheric vibe). Separated every section sunlight/ dark side with different layer, and gave different effect with controlling lights, burning/ whitening and more including. Tried to give very small detail as well for even better look. Rhino model designed to photoshop_interior view_final with fog effect_1

Choosing colour, design, pattern and more

I’ve finished designing my model on Rhino. When I started my project, I was looking at the wave mostly and how wind makes wave move/ pushes to the end along with beautiful blue water colour. I started from little scratch and continue thinking about the idea and developing how I could convey that on my project. I designed the pool area in wave shapes as if there are waves in the bath house. Then added two large open doors on one end to get the winds to come in easily and other side of the end with window to get the whole sunlight to come in. Just like a beach. Then toilet/shower/changing area in the middle and will be adding limestone/ warm tone atmosphere. And last area is comfortable/ relaxing zone. I designed the seats in stairs, people can sit on anywhere/position they would like I got inspiration from the image on right, you can see inside the water wall is cut into stair pattern. I’ll be adding plants on very top stair and be including trees in the gap between window and stair seats. I have placed two large windows back and front and I want to call the area as glass garden. My design will be like an indoor beach. Ocean-sand-plants/ Blue-yellow-green. I want visitors to have different experience and feeling while they are in each room/ area. Just like going into the ocean and coming out from it. I want them to have lots of warm sunlight and enjoy beautiful shape of wind, colour of water, and a cool breeze. Atmosphere of indoor beach.
