“Azra, no one gives a fuck about you, okay? Not everything is about you. I doubt we’re all out to get you.” It came out much harsher than she’d desired, so she took a few moments to calm her nerves before walking over to the other girl and placing her hands on her shoulders, looking Azra in the eyes. “This is literally not about rent or anything like that. I could take care of your part if I really needed to… it just would mean I couldn’t go shoe shopping as much as I would like to. This is about me and you.. us. I don’t want you feeling like you need to run when you’re going through a hard time. I want you to be able to trust me and feel like you can talk to me..”
Azra couldn’t fault Amelia for her bluntness. After all, she was right. Even Azra knew that if people hated her that it meant somewhere they still cared. No one really cared about her. Whether she was here or somewhere else, it didn’t matter to these people. Didn’t really matter to anyone. She was ready to grab her bag and leave, not wanting to have this conversation or any conversation really, when she was stopped. Suddenly face to face with her roommate. “No offense Amelia, but I would rather drown in a bathtub full of spiders than sit here and talk about what I’m going through.” That was an understatement, to say the least. “You’re a sweet girl, ya don’t need me.” She paused, cracking a half smile, “Like ya said, no one gives a fuck about me. Don’t have to pretend you’re not part of that no one.” Pulling away from the physical contact, she picked up her bag and threw it over her shoulder, “I ain’t mad at ya. Just... don’t wanna be here.”

Amelia had her own fair share of trouble ever since returning to Frostford. The thought of packing quite literally all of her things and heading right back to California crossed her mind many times at this point. Nothing about Frostford seemed even the slightest appealing anymore except for the one saving grace which was Delilah Abernathy, her absolute best friend in the entire world. On the other hand, she loved her roommates and they provided her with a different type of comfort. Ethan made her feel secure in their friendship, he was always there for her and would be down for spontaneous movie nights whenever she asked. Azra? When she and Amelia weren’t at each others throats, she felt like the other would physically be there to protect her at all times and that was a nice feeling. “Azra are you fucking dumb? We had one disagreement and you just disappear off the face of the ea–” and then the girl walked off toward her room so naturally Amelia followed. “Don’t you hear me fucking talking to you? Azra, I don’t want you to leave again!”
“It’s not even about you,” Azra replied, shoving more clothes in her bag. “Yeah, we fought. Big fucking deal, everyone in this town hates me what’s one more person doing the same?” Grabbing her hair brush and some other items, “I’m not leaving, I’m just staying with my parents for awhile until i figure out what I’m doing here.” Kneeling down next to her bed, she lifted the mattress, grabbing the baggy of xanax she had bought off Slug and tossing that in her bag, noting in her head that she needed to contact him again soon. “I’ll pay rent, whether I stay in Frostford or not. I signed a lease, I know that. Okay? You’re covered.”

(closed for @azrapls)
It had been days since their very hostile encounter and quite frankly, Amelia had told herself that the next time she saw Azra, she was going to confront the situation head on. It wasn’t like she wanted to fight with her roommate, but the attitude had her fed up. She hadn’t seen the other girl and was beginning to worry when she heard the door open while sitting on the coach. Lo and behold, it was Azra and Amelia immediately stood to her feet, placing her laptop on the coffee table and folding her arms over her chest with her eyebrows raised. “So what? You just leave and don’t say anything? I’ve been frickin’ worried sick about you.” well, that wasn’t exactly what she wanted to say, but maybe she just felt like being honest today.
Azra’s life was spiraling, to say the least. She thought that coming back to Frostford, running from things and people she had gotten herself into back in NC, only to be confronted almost immediately by what had started everything. A drunken night with a boy. Now? She wasn’t sure what to do. Did she stay? Did she go back to NC? Did she pack up and disappear to someplace no one knew who she was? Truthfully she just wished the fates would decide for her, take her out. Maybe that’s how she found herself fighting with the only friend she had in the town and then later that night practically begging a police officer to shoot her. Ever since she hadn’t left her bedroom at her parents house. Until this moment, where she hoped no one would be home and she could slip in and grab some clothing and slip back out. That wasn’t the case. Almost immediately she was confronted with Amelia. She expected another argument, she had no energy for one but she was ready to if needed. Confusion crossed her face before she forced it back to neutrality. Emotion was weakness. “I’ve been staying at my parents,” she stated, plainly, making her way towards her bedroom, “If I was dead you would have heard about it. No need to worry, either way.” Slipping into her room, she grabbed her gym bag and started to throw some things in there.

closed starter for @nadiaxackerman
Azra had been back for about a month now and there was only one thing that she was certain of: coming back was a mistake. Whoever and whatever she was running from back at Duke, was far better in her mind than the small town she grew up in. Currently, she found herself held up in her childhood bedroom, one that since being here she had already tossed all of her trophies and ribbons and leotards into several boxes in the corner. She had an apartment, but she couldn’t go back to it right now. Not after she fought with Amelia and then later that night practically begged an officer to shoot her after she trashed her own car. She was losing it, that’s for sure. She had been at home for a few days now, only coming out to use the bathroom and certainly not answer any of her parents questions. The knock on her bedroom door caused her to jump in bed. It was probably mom or dad again. No one else knew she was here. Opening the door, she was ready to say that she didn’t want to speak, but she saw Nadia there instead. “What are you doing here?” she asked. “How did you-” she stopped groaning, “Mom called. I’m fine. She’s being dramatic.”

“Oh my god, thank you for that! I take great pride in these legs. Suffer through leg day at the gym, but it works.” She grins. “Well, sometimes I feel like a disco ball! So maybe it works if I look like one!”
“How the hell does one feel like a disco ball?”

@frostfordstart
roxie’s pink hair was down in curls around her face. she’d driven out to mobile yesterday for an audition and had wound up spending the night with a friend before driving back into town. now, since she had the day off, she was wandering through flipping through instagram as she looked around town. she watched someone walk across the street with a dog and sighed, “okay, serious question.” roxie said, turning to look at the person closest to her. “should i get a dog? this is not the time for pro con lists or expansive reasoning, this is the time for quickfire. yes or no. right now.”
“No. If you don’t have time to think through whether you should get a dog, then you shouldn’t get one.”

“Alright, I can cop you a pizza, free of charge. But you gotta let me know the toppings. And trust me, this will say a lot about you.”
@frostfordstart
“I can pay for my own damn pizza. Do I look like a charity case to you?”

“All animals appeal to my senses. Are you only watchin’ Stick It and Make It Or Break It?” She countered. “Dunno why I did it, I get a little nostalgic sometimes, isn’t there somethin’ you loved as a kid like that?”
“I don’t really watch TV,” she shrugged. The counter from Hazel was annoying, to say the least. She’d only seen Stick It because it was required as a team bonding thing back at Duke when she first got there. Thinking back to her childhood, the only thing that she loved that came to mind was dancing to High School Musical with Nadia. Even if Nadia only did it because Azra wanted her to. Shaking her head, “Nah, not really. No judgment here though.”

“Huh. That’s actually pretty cool. And helpful for me actually! Caffeine doesn’t do much for me, so maybe this will. I guess I’ll have to start having an apple with my morning coffee,” she laughed. “You into nutrition? Or just my new go to phone-a-friend if I ever get on a trivia show?”
“Um, kinda, I guess? Just grew up training and competing as a gymnast. The coaches and nutritionists kinda jam that shit down your throat every second of the day. Guess it helps for useless trivia nights too. Hope it works out for you so you stop falling asleep in random places.”

“If you’re there to help ‘im maybe he will.” He agreed, only to click his tongue as the girl insisted on him to do something pretty much impossible. “No way, lady. Now, why don’t you show me how better you got?”
“I had to take a year or two off because of my injury-” her pregnancy, “so I’m just starting to get back into a gym for fun. Nothing competition worthy or exciting to see,” she shrugged.

“I wouldn’t let that happen, you know that.” She teased, thinking of Azra as a younger sister type. An annoying younger sister. Andy and Zeli were the youngest, they didn’t have anyone to pick on but one another and their older brothers really let them have it at times. It was different having someone she could consider to be that younger sister to her. “He’s just a kid,” she shrugged her shoulders, “That kind of temper in the garage is no good for anyone. Got himself a big gash on his leg just the other week.” She shook her head at the thought, “He’s gonna get himself seriously hurt around here.” In a weird sense, she almost cared about what happened to Connor.
Azra tilted her head to the side, staring over at Andy before laughing, “It sounds like you care about this dude, not gonna lie. If he seriously injures himself around here that’s on him. I’ve been hiding out since I was like... 11? 12? Even i know this isn’t a place to bring my anger into.” Boy, did Azra have a lot of pent up anger too. Who knew her tiny body could hold so much. “How much longer do you have before you close up? I would like to go get drunk with you now that I’m legally able to and all that jazz.”

Leah was certainly glad her calls had been shifted from drunks down at the Watering Can and to a woman with a tire iron. Surely, they had sent her in hopes to reason with the woman as their first bet was it being someone pissed at an ex something or another. When Leah approached, spotting Nadia Ackerman’s younger sister with a tire iron in her hand, she turned off the engine and stepped out of the car. She was met with instant hostility.·“Just came out to see what you’re doin’, some concerned townspeople called it in.” She offered softly, not taking part in the woman’s attempt to piss her off.·“Imma have to ask you to set the tire iron down at least.”·
Of fucking course someone called it in. No one can keep their nose in their own damn business in this town. The idea of someone seeing her and calling the cops made her laugh. Her head moved to look at the houses around, wondering who it might be that called before she landed back on Leah. Laughing more, “What are you gonna shoot me if I don’t put it down? Do it. I dare you. Aim to kill. Fucking do it.”

“I’ll leave that up for you to decide.” She really didn’t practice witchcraft, but it was fun having people in town think that she did. “There’s various types of crystals that have different energies and qualities. That’s the best way I can explain it.”
“Yeah, no. That all sounds like bullshit to me. They’re just rocks.”
