the idea of romancing the backrooms is something to me

considering it’s a concept that revolves around isolation, it really is just you and the backrooms. I can’t help but imagine endlessly wandering, brushing your hands against the walls, feeling the cool drywall against your face.

it would learn more about you, start showing you rooms it knows you would enjoy.

I know for a lot of people the backrooms acts as some form of limbo or horrific anomaly, but I’ve always found comfort in its simplicity. Just being alone, no need to fulfill my needs, no worries about the outside world. Finally, a break. To some that in itself is a form of punishment- to me it’s nothing but bliss.

im thinking about a robot or ai or some other sort of sentient machine thats old and clunky or maybe just has a small ram or weak cpu that takes like thirty seconds to ten minutes to respond in conversations. and their partner who sits and talks with them anyway and just waits patiently because they love them

Oid identities: Buildings

These are from the Oid system.

Note: the flags came out sorta looking like fem/masc/neut versions of each other, and I may change that later, but for now these are the flags and they are all genderless. 

Edificoid: When human identities do not apply to you because you are a building. The shades of red refer to bricks, and the window is grey because it’s opaque and blocking the view of observers.

Edifivoid: When you have no identity because you are a building. The shades of blue refer to nighttime or space, and the window is black because there is nothing inside.

Edifiloid: When you are a building and your identity mimics/is affected by the people within. “Loid” is short for “celluloid”, as a reference to how films capture the image of people. The shades of brown refer to both wood and human skin tones, and the window is yellow because someone turned on a light.

These identities are related to trauma and are only for traumatized people who feel like they haunt/contain/embody/etc a specific building. This is not a kin thing.
