i have an au where the kids are now young adults and they are well known in the music industry. they don't really have too much memories of knowing themselves from former years (like school and just their childhood in general) but they know they're BIG fans of each other*. while they were "reuniting", they knew they had a deep connection, however, they couldn't grasp why they did

of course, chris is still the lead guitarist for his band. joy, on the other hand, is a skilled soloist and a producer/songwriter (sort of like soyeon from (g)i-dle)

*chris is very much a fan of joy's sweet-sounding vocals while chris' band has been joy's favourite to listen to and she favours chris' guitar skills

the two finally meet during an award show. while they were at the awards, they were starstruck, unaware of the other person's thoughts and feelings. furthermore, they both thought they were going to have a public (or private) distaste for each other since the person who you idolise may not be the nicest of all people

so joy as mari does kinda fit bc their parents own businesses pertaining to food. they also have surnames that are references to food as well as having mums with butchered bobs

(i mean... at least pepper is a nice surname but the pain in "dupain" literally means bread. b r e a d )

chris as adrien DOES NOT FIT IN ANY WAY but i just thought it was funny. i guess the only similarity is that they both have famous dads, are wealthy and have spiky hair but that's about it. crispin as gabriel would be really fun to see. giz is definitely natalie but then again that would be a bit ooc for him since natalie is a lot more mature than gizmo

and, of course, the kids are teens in this au...

edit (13.9.24): guys i'm hearing lots of spoilers from s5 of mlb and apparently GABRIEL'S DEAD??? oh well rip crispin too i guess... (nah but seriously, i need to catch up on this series i've missed too much 😭)
