I was a peaceful little crow sitting in a tree, looking for shiny things and tending to lost young birds. I don't think I've ever been more upset about such a nice dream being just a dream in my life. I woke up and was so sad I wasn't actually a peaceful crow gathering little trinkets and coins and gifting them to baby sparrows.

Not people saying “Fandom has always been like this” in that vent post I made. No. It hasn’t always been like this. Fandom has NEVER been like this until recently and if you were in fandom pre-tumblr purge, pre-twitter, pre-netflix boom, pre-tiktok….then you would fucking know it was nothing like this.
We still had the drive to create. We still sold prints and charms and made zines…but it was never like this.
The introduction of streaming, binge shows that drop all at once, tiktok and vine RIP i still love u vine but you were the beginning of a particularly ugly era) creating this bite sized, quick paced ‘content’ era of creation and it bled out into fucking everything else.
Fandoms didn’t die down when the show ended or the season was over. You didn’t mass unfollow artist, writers or moots just because they changed fandoms. There wasn’t this need to please the algorithm in order for your posts to get seen by people and enjoyed.
Fandoms used to last YEARS. Star Trek is literally the oldest running fandom out there and you got people in there that could care less about the new stuff and still have been happily prancing through their fucking fifty year old fandom today. Hell, even SPN after all it’s fuckups and shitshows has a dedicated fanbase STILL creating tons of art and fic.
There is no patience anymore. No calm feeling of taking in fandom and friends at a pace that which doesn’t make you stressed and is still fun.
Do I blame fandom for this? Of course not, but people are complacent with it and start changing their vocab to accommodate and end up making the situation so deep it cant be fixed.
We call Art & Fic Content now, completely stripping the value of what it is to a level of consumerism instead of personal entertainment & community bonding.

I can't get emotionally attached to any shows anymore :(
Never watched this show but I’m noticing a pattern here.
I knew Netflix were fucking DUMB but this is insane.
Inside Job, Dead End, 1899, Warrior Nun, now this, they cancel everything as soon as it’s getting started.
Why even bother.
It’s a disgraceful practice borne out of an endless and immediate desire for more fucking money,
For fuckness’ sake!
Feel free to reblog this.

Vent #1
I have no one to talk to normally and I don't want to bother my friends or my mom with my mental issues or with what I'm struggling with.
My first thought was to journal but I always forget to because of my ADHD, and I'll probably forget about this blog too. I just want to scream into the unknown abyss of the internet and let my frustration out, maybe somebody will find this blog, or they won't...but that's okay. This is for me, and no one else. :)
It's been years since I've used tumblr, I think One Direction was at their peak fame and I came here to read fanfics and eventually got into Dan & Phil, which took me to my emo phase and I never outgrew it lol
I mean do we really need to leave our sense of style and taste of music behind just because we are a certain age? As long as you're not being a creep to others in the community or hurting anyone I don't see the problem. I miss the times where cancel culture wasn't a thing yet and we could just enjoy things, the sense of innocence and ignorant bliss was just a euphoric feeling that I wish I still had.
But nope, I had to become and adult with a strong moral compass that can't support someone that's a bad person (it's not a bad thing, just kind of annoying). I mean what if someone doesn't know about the person being canceled and you make them feel bad about it? I mean we can separate the artist from their art; there is a way to enjoy their content w/o generating them income and actively supporting them. People go back to things that can be problematic just for nostalgia and ethically not support the person "canceled". I mean it depends on what they got canceled for in the first place too lol
It feels good to ramble on about nothing and everything at the same time, I will try to do this more often for my mental health and my "happieness" (Just so I don't go crazy.)
Peace peeps :3 see u next time
