He literally had to take care of his disabled father on a reservation (which contributes to financial issues) with little to no support or guidance to help him, and from a very young age. Then once he turns 16 all of a sudden he is this shapeshifter who has to keep the biggest secret of his life and also split his time with his dad as he now has pack duties. And he’s also in love with his broken best friend. And she is in love with someone else. Like he had so much he had to deal with, all the time. He didn’t truly have a childhood and at the age of 16 he physically grows and has such responsibility, so no wonder he was on some shit for the majority of Eclipse. As much as I hate the fact that Smeyer said: Jacob’s character arc = 🗑 and made him lack boundaries like... he’s been through a lot. It shouldn’t be excused but characters don’t have free will and smeyer is a big racist so...
