You know, as the concept of “zombifying fungi” becomes more and more popular, I notice it still referred to everywhere as like a “brain parasite.” So I guess a lot of people overlooked or forgot how in 2019 it was discovered that cordyceps and other similar fungal parasites leave the brain and nervous system completely untouched. They only control the muscles. They use chemical signals to make the muscles flex in real time where they want to go :)

SVSSS AU/fic prompt where Shen Qingqiu and the entire sect find out about Luo Binghe being at Huan Hua palace much sooner.

Shen Qingqiu panics and goes into mini qi deviation as how is so soon, oh god he going to come for me and kill me so soon, the bodies won't be ready!

The sect however see this as a qi deviation at the betrayal at Luo Binghe defecting and not returning to his Shizun, especially cause Shen Qingqiu keeps mourning him and is always at the sword mound, he's still not eating or sleeping and it seems to have even got worse!

The peak lords are honestly ready to storm Huan Hua palace and demand answers or drag Luo Binghe back (they have had to stop Ning Yingying from doing so multiple times) the only reason they haven't is because oh god what id they drag him back and he leaves again? It'll be so much worse! Will Shen Qingqiu even survive?

When sowers mission comes up Shen Qingqiu is not sent because he's in such an awful state they're pretty sure he'll drop into a qi deviation at any time, and Ning Yingying Ming Fan are so protective they probably won't be able to get him off the peak.

So Luo Binghe doesn't meet his Shizun in the city but a lot of very pissed of peak lords who are giving him death glares, he's pretty sure they must know he's a demon and that's why.... until he mentions Shziun and they go off on him. That Shizun has been in mourning for years? IS not eating? There's a sword mound? And that he's gotten even worse after finding out Luo Binghe joined Huan Hua palace?

He kinda just freezes and is so confused, he can't believe it until he sees there dreams and oh gods his shizun is suffering so much, he misses him, he must miss him and he thinks Luo Binghe left him, that he escaped abyss and then abandoned him!

Luo Binghe nopes out of Huan Hua without a second look and basically tells peak lords he's coming back with them they don';'t trust him but Luo Binghe is not running off to Shizun's side immediately is to show peak lords how strong he is and that he will be returning to shizuns side no matter what they say.

Shen Qingqiu jut standing there in shock after peak lords return with Luo Binghe who instantly begs to be accepted back as a disciple and that he never officially joined Huan Hua and he is still his disciple and please let him stay.

He has no idea what is happening
