why are the leafs hated? aside from them being critical of their players (like mitch...?)

i don't follow them, and i just recently found out before marner's switch to the knights that he isn't playing for the leafs anymore and it's all because of the fans.

are there any other valid reasons aside from the fanbase also being huge and like drowning out the other team's fans during away games (something i read on reddit)?
