Hello there. This morning, I received a copyright takedown removal request from the publishing Simon and Shuster LLC for the Librivox recording of Othello, a play by virtue of being around since the 17th century is in the public domain. That particular recording is also in the public domain as Librivox is a nonprofit organization that releases their audiobooks in the public domain for the benefit of the public. Nothing in that video belongs to Simon and Shuster, so it's absolutely astounding that they think they can do this.
I plan on fighting this. If any of you have any suggestions for my next course of action, please let me know in the comments. Thank you and have a nice day. More to come soon.
